Has anyone come across or compiled anything on the wizard 200 mainboard layout for voltage paths between the USB charge port and the battery clip?
I have broken the USB port and the traces where the solder joints were on 3 and 4 have come off.
Is there fairly simple way to build the traces back up? if not is there a workaround through the circuit further up?

ok, the connector is broken.
I disassembled cover parts,
fixed connector,
I'm sure there is 5V inside (the connector inside I measure by voltagemeter) when I plug-in the external charger. The connector has 3 pins for GND and 3 pins for 5V and I'm sure there is volatage inside.
But the battery is not charging. O/S say the battery status as remained, but do to charge.
how to fix? what next to check?

You could check to see if the protection fuse has blown, if so you can bridge the circuit, if you search for charging or charge on the forum you will find pictures and methods.
the protection fuse just beside the battery? under small piece of white scotch tape?

yes, it was broken micro fuse, the one right beside the connector pins on motherboard.

Just came to remove my audio daughter board off my M500 to solder up the dodgy joints on it, and the whole bloody connector came off. I've removed the connector from the daughter board, but when attempting to resolder it, I managed to break the connector
So, I need a source of the little rectangular PCB connector (14 way, DIL) that attaches the ADB to the main board, so I can have another go Anyone know a source in the UK preferably?

I currently repair XDA Exec's for a client of mine who use them for their delivery drivers. They are constantly breaking the screens which are easy to fix, but more often than not they smash off the usb connector and leave it rattling around inside. This is not usually a big problem to fix unless the pads that the 5 pins are soldered to have been ripped off the board. I have found that even if I successfully replace the connector with a new one and solder the two outside pins (which are the gnd and 5v pins) the battery will not charge. The puzzling thing is, if I remove the battery, the red led comes on, presumably indicating power to the device. As soon as I connect the battery the led goes out and the unit boots up only to reveal that it is not charging. So I'm presuming two things:
1. There is some other electronic component damage in the unit caused when the connector broke (due to it being on the end of the charger cable at the time, if this is the case I will scrap the unit)
2. There is some feedback from the battery that the charger needs to continue with it's output and because I didn't reconnect the data pins it won't charge.
Does anyone know how the charging circuit works and what pin / connections are required for charging. I guess the same principle will apply to many PDA's & mobile phones.

Currently i have a problem with my samsung tab A 8.0. Days ago i accidentally dropped my tab while it was being charged, resulting in red Cross with lightning icon while i tried to plug it on anything, and suddenly all of my usb otg were not detected and it was not detected on my pc...even usb debugging was not detected too...i had opened its case and checked the continuity of its micro usb port and it still seemed ok...now i have no idea about how to solve this, do you know what to do if something like this happens?? I suspect its pcb track is broken so maybe i will need a new motherboard again...

How are you checking continuity? You would need to check it between the end of the USB cable and the solder points behind the micro USB pins. No point in testing to the actual pins.
The pins that solder to the board are extremely small and difficult to resolder, some sort of magnification is really required.
The way I do it is by using a solid conductor wire wrapped around the end of a decent soldering iron. Even then it's a difficult task and requires a steady hand.

I'm trying to fix my old Nubia with a broken USB port by bypassing the port.
Since it's soldered to the motherboard, it's almost impossible to solder right on the usb pins.
But I've noticed testpoints, and found the VCC one, on which I soldered a wire. another being soldered to the outside of the port for grounding.
I thought I would be able to charge it that way, but it's not showing any signs of life (with or without the battery)
So I have 2 questions:
-can I charge through the testpoints ?
-do I need to send a signal to the ID pin ? (I guess not, I opened up a charge only cable and it had only 2 wires)
