Hello guys!
I've have one question. Now, I want to use my Leo as my main phone again over my Desire.
I've got a backup of my messages in Desire, but can't restore it on my Leo. When I click import, it says "Messages sucessfully saved" or something like this - but when I go to messages it is still empty. I've have about 600+ sms which is important.
Any good idea for importing software?
BUMP!
Anyone?

.. need help before doing a hard reset.. Thank you
Sprite Backup can do this. The professional version can back-up directly to a PC.
www.spritesoftware.com.
You do need the pre-release of version 2.3 - the current 2.14 will not work - or rather, if you restore a 2.1x backup, you kill the ability to receive SMS'es.
The pre-release has a few issues, but I have succesfully performed both backup and restore with this version.

Michael
well if you only want to copy sms from your xda you dont need any software... you can find all your sms from all folders in folder windows\messaging
they are .mpb files but they are merely text files chang their extensions and there you are...

if i copy these files from windows messaging, then reset my device, install a new rom etc and then copy them back into this folder later, will it restore all sms as well as the sms folders???
thanks

Mephistodan ---> You are my hero!!! Thanks. Why o why hasn't anyone mentioned this anywhere in my search for a way to backup sms messages!!!
Not perfect, but all I really need is to save sent and recieved sms's ;-)
Thanks again!
I think the is the tip of tips... IMHO!
WM2003/xbackup can handle everything else for backup, as far as I am concerned.
F**K sprite and all other pay stuff for just the sms backup.
Personally, I think MS will (AND should) integrate sms and mms as folders in future outlook versions.

Maybe I was a bit quick to reply... I have some 0 byte files (looks like my inbox), yet I can't find the message of the sms's recieved?
The ones I have sent (and e-mail inbox) appear fine as i rewrite the mpb extensions to text...
so my question is...
where are the inbox files hiding? In the att files (attachments folder)? I don't think so, but mephistodan do you know where the recieved sms's are located, as these are really the ones I mostly would like to keep.

Talking to myself...
Now using dbExplorer (nice prog. -> think I may buy this one) to find the data in the database. The SMS inbox is called something like fldrXXXXXXX and dbExplorer lets you export the db to a *.csv file easy to use in Excel.
Works for me... no more worries that sms data is lost. I guess with some fiddeling, you could easily replace these into the database as well.

Hey everyone,
I've got an issue with my Dutch T-Mobile X1, my SMS messages don't show up correctly. On the SE panel it shows that there are new messages, for example 2 new sms. But when I check the inbox there is nothing new.
I updated the phone yesterday through update service in the hope that it would fix it, beforehand it (the SE panel) would for example say that there 70(!) new messages. But I fear the update didn't fix anything.
Also, messenges that I've sent show up in my inbox? What's up with that?
If I knew a screenshot-maker I could post some screens to better illustrate the problem.
I have the same problem with my X1. The Home-Screen shows one unread sms-message but my sms inbox is completely empty, also the other sms folder are empty.
I have tried the following things:
- unistalled xperia tweak software
- soft reset
- restore sms/mms data from my spb backup file
- send me a new sms and tried to delete ALL
Also I have searched in the registry for a key to change, but I haven't found one.
Could anybody help me?

My SW revision is R2AA006
1. I downloaded XPERIA Tweak 2.0 free software from http://www.cliffords.nu/
(watch which ver. of SW you have before downloading)
2. using tweak tool, disabled "conversation style SMS / MMS"
3. reboot
4. \o/ woot.. sent msg-s are no more in INBOX
well, I guess I didn't Google good enough
maybe this helps you

Hi guys,
Got this problem: when I choose Menu=>New or Reply in Manila, I get Inbox on the screen instead of usual screen with recepient, text etc. Same thing, when I go to Menu=>New from the Inbox, nothing happens (although I can create a new MMS). It looks like the phone doesn't know how to handle a new sms anymore. Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks!

Hi All;
I just got my HTC HD2, and in progress of moving data from my old HTC Touch Dual I imported about 1500 SMS messages through PIM backup, which apparently was a very stupid thing to do... Now, d'uh, the device is unresponsive everytime sms is involved. I cannot get enough resources to delete all the messages.
My old HTC has the "Clear SMS/MMS" option, but I can't find it in HD2. Is there a way (a tool or program) to delete all sms/mms messages without having to perform a hard reset?
Thnx in advance,
Lukas
Nevermind I deleted the messages through Microsoft My Phone.
Grtz
Lukas
Hi all,
so I went from WM6.5 to Gingerbread on my HD2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2071440). Before doing so, I backed up all I needed to my laptop, including my three years worth of text messages. I used PpcPIMBackup and SMSExporter to be sure.
Once the device was finally running with Android, I went on to import the thousands of SMS using "SMS Backup & Restore" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&hl=en). A few hours later, all my SMS were successfully imported except that
- they are sorted by "conversation" then by "date", and
- all conversations have the datestamp of the day of the import (opening a conversation and looking at one particular message, they have the correct sender, datestamp, etc...).
So, two questions :
- What went wrong ?
- Can I sort my SMS by "date" first and not by "conversation" ? I can't seem to find any options to sort messages by anything else, say by sender for instance.
Txs.
PS : happy to erase all, and re-import using any other tool, remember I have one "PIB" file from PIMBackup and one "XML" file from SMS B&R.
