Sprint 2.1 Eclair Release (HTC Hero & Samsung Moment)

Here's some info that i got earlier today, thought I would share with everyone:
the 2.1 update will be OTW Only, and available from Sprint.com/Download once released.
File size for the HTC Hero will be ~117mb, and Samsung Moment ~80mb
Post 2.1 MRs will be OTA as long as sizes are within sprint's technical capabilities (9mb limit on OTA), Otherwise they will be OTA from Google or OEM sources.
Release dates:
Moment - April 30
Hero - Week of May 1
So keep your eyes peeled, and before anyone asks, the reason that the Hero update is being released after the Moment, is due to Sense implementation.

It's as true as it comes, i can't divulge my direct source without risking losing my job, and it's not worth it.
But, i'll say this, the info is a synopsis of information that TSS and ATS groups got as of yesterday concerning the update, and it comes from the development group. It's information we can give over the phone, but all we can say is that it's information from the development group working on the update.

so if i was to say, that i knew the actual release date of the EVO, you wouldn't want that because it's of no benefit to you in the sense of preparation?

It's of no benefit as we've had 14,000,000,000 2.1 will be out threads....Just being realistic.....agian, I'll beleive it when I see it

Of all people that post information or say anything about 2.1 release. This OP seems to actually know alot more then most. Read anything he has posted in the past, he has never once said some dumb rumor and all of his post are very intelligent.
I would say if anyone were to post information, i would take if from this guy above all others.

If you think iPhone is better y are you here @ xda which is devoted to winmo and open source operating systems like android webos... iPhone sux, too restricted.. if I wanted someone else to decide what I could look @ and the apps I could download I would let my mommy do it for me.. (by the way I'm 29 don't ask my mommy to do much lmao)

Not just for porn how bout any website the used embedded flash content. IPhone=fail when it comes to flash. Adobe said may never happen for IOS because of jobs dictatorship over the OS..

I know, I was using the porn thing as a joke.
$600 to spend on a phone. Sure, I could have gotten an iPhone, but no, what did I get? An HD2. Why? Things can be done with this phone that the iPhone will never see. Multi OS capability? HD2 yes, iPhone no. Android? HD2 yes, iPhone - maybe. If I wanted some old man tellin' me what to do, heck, I'd just speak to my grandfather. (if he were alive)

Nand Benchmarking
I don´t know its useful. I found today an app called"Android hacker's system tool "
This tool can Benchmarking NAND and SD card. It was Interesting to see the difference of Android on Nand and Android on SD. But at this moment only devs can test this.

i don't see any major attractive things make me update to 2.3 immediately.
the most excited feature is the improved voice command. and improved keyboard.

What interests me is the new dalvik-cache handling, supposed to speed things up a lot.

16 of Dez the Nexus2 must be in stores, and sellers must try a couple of days before that, to know what are selling.....what we need is a leak from Nexus2.....like football did, with desireHD.

Straight from the sdk. I'm not kidding. I've already run the emulator on my pc. The new theme for certain icons looks kinda nice. I'll get a screenshot up in a minute.

Not really, but the actual dump from a real device would be nice, because it has drivers, and things like that. When infinitybiff makes a release, rest assured, not everything will work right away. I quote infinitybiff when I say that.

at least its good to have something out early, then work on fixes....good stuff

No,no. They say that we will have the 2.3 update, and this is a S.E. offical source, now if they don't deliver us the update we can go tu court and sue them for false advertising

Final consideration of the Company

I believe that the devs will make the new update( like 2.2.1 for x10 )

Well, I thinks it's false advertising, they won't update us soon, they insist telling us we won't have further updates. All we depend now are dev's from XDA, and specially those who made this site possible! I really admire you guys. And like many others I lost my trust in SE. Shame on them...

i think that X8 series will get gingerbread by someone.

I've tested Racht's 2.3 CM mod but I can't load it, keeps giving a strange graphic after boot animation :S but, anyway, it's 2.3.1 loading at our phone

I believe that's a fake message. If that's true then why did they skip Froyo ?

Arc will get 2.3 so eventually they add 2.3 to whole Xperia family.
