hi all. got a bit of an annoying problem here. in certain text boxes on facebook's full site (such as where you post status updates or write on someone's wall), i'm unable to enter any text if i have Javascript enabled. when i tap on the text area, sometimes the keyboard pops up briefly and closes, and then the browser treats that part of the page like it's a blank area. if i have Javascript disabled, i can type, but when i tap "post", it just refreshes the page. i'm using the latest Energy ROM.
any ideas?
thanks.

As the topic says, seem to be having an issue, when i open a text or emails, its opening them at the bottom/base. So i'm having to scroll up to see the sctual message.
Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on how to open sms/email at at the top by default?
did a search, couldn't find anything
cheers
simon
EDIT: It seems to have something to do with playing with the scroll wheel settings for internet explorer. When you st it to scroll the page, not the links.
setting it to page scroll causes the sms/email issue, putting it back to scrolling through the links fixes it.
Yes, this has been talked about plenty around here.
Does this happen to anybody else? Often when I attempt to open a message, be it an email message or an SMS message by going to the TF3D tab and tapping on the message itself (either in the envelope for email or just the words for SMS messages) the message depresses like a button press but then nothing happens.
I just now discovered that if I click on the upper right hand corner of the screen, where it shows HTC's task managers and tasks running, I'll see a mail icon and the name "Internet Explorer" in the list. If I tap on that I get the following, ridiculous dialog box that appears to be blocking me from seeing the message:
Internet Explorer
Pross OK to continue
loading the content of this
page
Click to collapse
I say ridiculous because if you think about it what options does the user have at this point? The only two things he can do is 1) succumb to the demand and click OK or 2) switch to some other application and ignore this message!
Questions:
1) Does this happen to anybody else? (Note if you have any icons in HTC's upper right corner menu that have a letter icon and say anything like Internet Explorer, Text Messages or Email then kill them first by tapping the "X" to the right of them and try again).
2) How can I get this dialog box to not prompt at all? It serves no purpose, does not come up normally (i.e. is hidden) are really ruins the "flow" or user experience here!
I've also had times where I tapped "Inbox" or "All messages" because at the time I didn't know that there was a hidden dialog. In such cases the Inbox/All messages comes up but in the place where the messages should be listed is instead the background of the current tab bleeding through! IOW if you have a list of say 2 messages that you'd normally see in the Inbox, instead you'd see the background of the current tab as if that part of the window just didn't render. Needless to say that this is extremely annoying too! This seems like basic stuff. Why is it happening to me? Is it also happening to you?
Hi Folks,
This is a small, seemingly insignificant problem but it's bloody annoying so I'm hoping you can help me solve it:
When I receive a new message (SMS, MMS, Email) the little message shortcut on the desktop get's the little green '1' overlaid to show there's a message. Once I read the message and reply it doesn't disappear. I can open the message in Chomp or the system default app and it doesn't seem to register with the shortcut - it still shows the overlaid green number.
I know this is something of a trifling problem but I have my phone on silent a lot so it does cause some confusion.
Thanks in advance.
i've noticed mine staying on for a while but then disappearing... maybe it sits there for another 10/15 minutes?
Could be. I have to admit that afer about 10 minutes I've been losing patience and deleting the message, which makes it go away.
do u read ur messages through the widget page? cause i noticed that if u do, then the little green ball remains but somehow if u click on the message icon with the green ball to access ur acc and read from there, then it goes away.
I think that may be a factor, yeah. When I read them through the 'drag down' menu, either with chomp or system default it stays, I'll open the next one through the icon and see if that changes things.
I find that the trackball keeps flashing too unless you actually tap on the Messages shortcut icon to read the new messages that come through (as oppose to viewing from the notifications menu or through the text messages widget). I hope HTC fix this issue 'cos not everyone wants to go through the messages app via the Messages shortcut icon.
Yeah, I only used the messaging icon yesterday and it was fine. The problem seems limited to when you use the 'drag-down- menu.
Hi All,
i text quite frequently and have noticed a silly problem. When i try to reply to a message (the screen where it says 'tap to compose text') ive got to press the screen a few times before i can enter some text. why is that?
Its annoying, any tweak for this?
regards
It's not that you have to press a few times, it's just a bit slow. HTC have yet to address it and it's a well documented problem. I reckon though that if you switched to traditional view in the options, rather than the conversation view, it might be quicker as it won't be loading message histories.

The problem appears to be with the actual message "screen" handler, when going to messages, at the top it says all messages, with the search icon, and below that is has the compose message button, but no messages actually display below there, it does nothing.
Clicking compose message takes you to the normal text screen and allows you to choose a contact to message, you can enter the text and it will send telling you "loading" and stops(hangs) there, the message does actually send.
The only workaround I've found for it is to go to contacts, select a person, and then hit the messages button...this will display the list of messages with that person but nothing else. Clicking the menu and hitting compose(or the "tap to reply") button get's you a prompt to select the program to handle it, messages or fb messenger, clicking messages gets more spinning of the "loading" prompt and the phone hangs at that point...I've searched this forum for about an hour now and have not seen this described.
.I'll be reading the guide for my model in hopes of a reply coming before the teenager with the axe..lol. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

You can try clearing the data on messaging, but you will lose your messages. If there is a hangup (I know, I know) somewhere in the app it might fix it.
Otherwise, for phantom errors with no apparent fix, a factory reset will usually fix you up.
To clear data, go to Settings>Apps>Messages and click "Clear Data."
