battery drainage - Nexus One General

I don't know why, but when I installed cyanogenMod before, and now Kang-o-rama (which is great, btw!) I noticed that the battery is draining like crazy! Meaning from 99% to 97% and going down fast, any reasoning? And that's right after installing the mod before using the phone or installing any apps.

Try intersectRavens kernel, it's got some excellent battery stats. Also you might want to look into setting the screen to auto-brightness, it really saves the battery.

CM7.1 Defy strange battery behavior

I really got frustrated with my CM7.1 defy.
The battery behavior very strange after I have done battery calibration.
My battery drain down from 60% left to 50% left in only 1 second, but meanwhile, the battery behave normal at other time.
Also, it is noticeable that, when I charge my battery, the battery jump from 87% to 100% in 1 second.
I have done the battery calibration in several ways which include wipe battery status in CWM Recovery, Using apps and deleting file from the system.
But the battery still behavior very strange.
After all these, I suspect my phone's battery have become somewhat fault or old, so I had replaced it with a new moto battery.
But the issue is still on.
If there is any solution, please tell me, I wish to deal with it without re-flashing my phone.
Here is a photo about the strange behavior with Battery Monitor Widget.
Sorry for my poor English and thanks everybody who came in this post.
You can read my thread about similar issues with battery...
Hmmm...Now when u mention this, my problems started when I flashed CM7.1 for the 1st time.

Try switching to the "smartass" governor. You can do this from the bootmenu. When the phone is off, under the smartass governor, it should enter deep sleep immediately. Also check out the following apps:
CPUspy -- well tell you how much the phone spends in deep sleep
BetterBatteryStats -- will tell you which apps have wake lock

[Q] Battery life with NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.9a on SDCard

I tried to search but the results were not conclusive, so decided to start separate thread.
I installed NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.9a on an SD card to try it first, and I am running it from Windows Mobile through haret. Performance is good, everything seems to work fine, besides the battery life. It drains the battery in about 10% an hour. On Windows, it can last several days with the same type of usage, so it is not the battery.
Better battery stats does not show anything useful - it reports that the main consumption comes from the OS itself.
Nothing seems to alter that behavior significantly - I wiped and installed the ROM again, so that there are no applications of my own running. I turned off wifi, mobile data, and changed connection to 2G. That causes only minor variations in the battery drain. Played with the cpu governors - same thing, just minor improvements.
My device is T-Mobile HD2 with class 4 SD card. I used PPP when installing the build as the other setting did not work for me.
Has anybody experienced the same behavior? Do you think I will be better off if I put the ROM on NAND?

Try using NAND it does reduce battery usage by some percentage. But don't expect a big change in battery drain , it is common issue that we all are facing.
Battery should last about a day on normal usage. 10% per hour is a lot. Is your screen turned on? Screen takes most energy of all. Turn intensity down and let it turn to sleep in 30 secs or 1 minute.
Also, frequent battery checking drains battery too, so leave the phone alone
Don't use tools as juice defender, my opinion is they take more juice than they spare.
Sent from my NexusHD2 using xda app-developers app
and let the rom settle down for a day or so
becuase you cant really tell what the battery drain is after
a fresh rom install
Ok, if the range is around one day, then I do not think there is anything specific with my installation. It can be weaker battery or too much screen time. It was just too different than on win.
Thanks all

Battery drain will always be an issue as the battery really is too small for the phone. Have you tried setcpu or similar these cpu management programs seem to work to a degree in increasing battery life.

My battery keeps doing funny things.

Hi All,
I've attached a screenshot of the battery settings, my screen-on-time at this point was 1h48m - it seems to not be able to calibrate at all and drops and rises as it feels. I unplugged my phone this morning when the alarm went off and snoozed myself for a few hours, the phone was off when I woke up, when I turned it on it was at 66%
I've reloaded my ROM (MIUI v5) and it doesn't seem to have made a difference. Is it my battery dying or is it the ROM? I haven't seen anyone else using MIUI have these issues.
Any advice? Should I think about replacing the battery?
Seems really bad and battery problems really gets fustrating at times..
Check if you have any apps you recently installed that might be causing the drain (Games tend to stay in background hogging batteries)
Reflash your rom if possible, with a full wipe to be assured of no rogue apps.
If the problem persists, then it might be due to a worn out battery. Replacing the battery usually solves most problems :good:

Galaxy S5 Sucks On battery life!

Help Please!!
Battery is draining extremely FAST!!
Did everything including wipe system and wipe cache
Using TWRP
Refashed the ROM
But didnt solve the POOR battery drain issue.
Here is a story of the problem i am having
I charge the phone on a evening to 100%
I then go to sleep with 100%
Wifi Is off location is off
The only thing i have is my alarm clock to wake me up (Which works)
Wake up and realise that my battery had dropped to around 70% just on idle with alarm
I used the Wakelock Detector [ROOT] to detect any wakelock stuff
Then greenified pretty much every app except the google and some omni stuff because it said not hibernating.
Reflashed ROM, i have nothing at all installed,NOTHING,no app from the play store
Just stock Gapps.
Still the battery is draining like usual.

What does Mobile Network Mean and why is it soo red?
Can someone help me please or at least suggest a suggestion that could work.
I dont want to go to linegeOS as it is too plain.
Thanks for reading this
By the looks of it, it seems that you are running a custom Rom so I can see why you'd be confused. My question is are you still using a stock battery because I had a similar problem with mine running stock so I flashed Resurrection and I still had battery drain problems. I would recommend purchasing an aftermarket battery from Powerbear on Amazon. It's around $20 which is quite step compared to purchasing another stock battery but (speaking from experience) it's worth the purchase.

x727 with horrible battery life (system service seems to be the culprit)

Guys, please help me again!!!
My phone has horrible battery life. I know for a fact that it has up to 4000mAh as expected, I have keeping account of how much each apps used. However, it is drained out very fast. It has been this way even with the stock rom. Now I have flashed in Turbo rom the US version 21s (which I love very much, btw) and it is still draining like crazy.
I have even disabled location service and history and it is like that. I have even used other roms (lineageOS and paranoid), the battery still drains like crazy. I have only like a 15 hour-ish battery life on a phone that I used lightly so far.
I really want to keep this phone but if it keeps being like that, I might have to send it back or something which I desperately don't want to do...
Maybe you need to remove some bloatware on the stock LeEco ROM.
Otherwise I think you're getting decent enough battery life. Download Greenify or some other battery checking app to see if any app in particular is draining battery life. Look in the optimization page in Battery and try to unoptimize or optimize some apps. Doze might be causing issues.
Damn it.
I'm having the same problem, I can not fix what I've done, doing a clean setup completely erasing everything did not solve the problems.
There is no such problem in custom roms.
What can be done in this regard.
Power ManagerService and PowerManagerDisplay have no way to stop exploiting the battery. : Ağlayan:
