Hi all,
I got a HTC Ozone from Verizon. I know this phone supports CDMA/GSM networks. My phone is working on a CDMA network but it also comes a SIM card.
I have the following 2 questions:
If I remove that SIM card the phone still works on the CDMA network.
1. Does anybody know what is that SIM card for?
I have also tried to remove that SIM card and insert a SIM card that I have from AT&T. The phone just says that the card is invalid but it doesn't ask me for any unlocking code.
2. How do I enter the unlocking code on this phone?
Thanks a lot and sorry if this has already been asked but I haven't been able to find anything.

To answer your questions -
(1) The Pre-installed sim card is a VZW sim that allows you to use the phone internationally on GSM networks. You would pay international rates to VZW for that.

I did this and am able to use a t-mobile sim and At&t sim in the phone. You just have to make sure to have the phone in GSM network mode.

hey guys,
I got the unlock code from Verizon (actually my company got it for me because I'm not the owner of the account) However, I don't know how to enter it.
If I insert a different SIM card (e.g. AT&T) it just says that the SIM card is invalid, and it doesn't give me the option to enter the unlock code like with other phones. I also tried to change the network to GSM.
Any ideas how I can do that?
Thanks
ok, I think I found it. Unfortunately they got an invalid code so they have to go through the whole process again
One slight problem for some of us, like me:
I'm about to purchase Ozone off-contract from VZ. VZ rep told me I'd have to put it on an account for 6 months in good standing to even get a consideration to be unlocked.
$350 for this? This is frickin' anti-competitive bull****, I'd be paying full price un-subsidized for the phone, I deserve an unlock.

I found mine already unlocked off eBay for about $290. It was an auction so obviously I can't claim you would pay the same, but it is an option if you don't want to submit to their rules.
as far as how long u have to be under contract... i was told by global support you have to have been a customer to 90 days prior to the unlocking and in good standing.
I upgraded a different line to get the ozone... put it on my primary account that same day and had it unlocked five minutes later. I think u talked to the wrong rep.

Wrong rep? I was at a corporate Verizon store where their Small Business Specialist told me that.
Yep... wrong rep... Global support is different then Small Business Reps.
How many times has one rep told you something that was contradicted by another rep?
I was simply telling you what I was told right before they unlocked my sim.
As a matter of fact, I just bought a BB Tour off eBay that i put on my account and had it unlocked through global support within 5 minutes. Only requirement was I have been a VZW Customer for more than 90 days and I am in good standing.
Shoot, if you want maybe I'll activate your phone for you on my account and unlock it...
unlock my HTC OZONE
hey man i just got a verizone wireless HTC OZONE....Pls could u help me unlock it?
Hi all, how to enter code in that phone?
My unlocked Tilt broke, and all I can find on Craigslist is an HTC Ozone. My unlocked Tilt is on T-mobile, so I can't call Verizon to get an unlock code
Is there another way to do this?

Same here,
where I work we do not get VZW anywhere in the building. AT&T actually came in and installed repeaters so I plan on getting an AT&T prepaid and put the sim in my phone then I can just switch networks. Is that possible?
I unlocked 2 phones with www.unlock-now.com they work great and fast. I unlocked an HTC Imagio and an HTC Ozone.
go the unlock code from htcunlockcode.info and following instructions came along the code.
1. Switch to GSM mode
2. Go to Personal
3. Go to Security
4. It will says "Please enter the sim unlock code to disable the SIM lock"
5. Enter unlock code.
6. Reboot.
Worked fo me! hope the instructions will be helpful, as I see lot of people asking this in different forums.
xoxoxo
Jane.
thanks very much!
find the option to enter unlock code finally!
I got a code here http://unlockcellphonecode.com/code-for-unlocking-htc-mobile-cell-phone and they sent me the code and instructions ..
using iwireless sim card in it now..
...do I unlock the phone now that Android is installed?
Should I have done a SuperCID on it when Windows was still installed, or is there a way to do it now, too?
if you mean sim/network unlock, its completely unconnected to roms/flashing/hspl or any of that.
there is no free unlock, you can only get it unlocked to other networks by getting a code off your provider, or paying for one from teh many companies that offer the service.
So, what happens when you stick, say, a Vodaphone SIM in a T-Mobile HD2?

The phone asks for a code if it's sim locked. If it's unlocked, then it will detect the sim card and connect to Vodaphone's service. The only thing that doesn't always work is 3g data, if the new network doesn't use the same frequency bands as the carrier the phone was made for. Like if you put an AT&T sim in an unlocked TMOUS HD2, you can make calls and use 2g data, but 3g won't work.
Hi,
I'm about to buy a locked and used Note 3 and I'm planning to unlock it with a Sim unlock code from a website. The thing is, I don't know which models can be unlock through this method. Is there any limitation? For example, can I unlock a Sprint device to use on GSM carriers? Or T-Mobile/AT&T only?
Also, for carrier locked phones, do I need to activate it beforehand with the specific carrier Sim card? For example, do I need a T-Mobile Sim card, activate the T-mobile phone and then, use my unlock Sim code with my own Sim card? Or can I just skip the activation process and ?
Thank you so much for your time!
Thanks in advance for your time.
I consider myself somewhat savvy. I have searched all over for an answer before asking:
I bought a SM-G870A and I have tried putting an H2O SIM card with no unlock screen. I tried two other SIMS with no unlock screen. I assumed it was unlocked.
I tried selling this phone to a guy who was going to use it in Mexico and told him it was not SIM locked. He tells me that when he puts his SIM card in it asks for an unlock code.
I am lost as to why it would suddenly ask him for an unlock code but all my SIMS did not. I have not been able to see him try in person yet.
Why would I be able to put SIMS in the phone and not get asked for an unlock code. I thought that meant it was unlocked?
Thanks for the help!
I just went through this "sorta" thing when I unlocked my t-mobile s5. I took out my t-mobile sim and put in a metropcs pcs sim and got no unlock screen upon reboot. I put in a cricket wireless sim and upon reboot I got the unlock screen, which I quickly put in my unlock code.
I'm assuming since metropcs is owned by t-mobile, that is why it didn't ask for an unlock code.
Is h20 owned by at&t, if so, that could be why the phone didn't ask for an unlock code when you put in the h20 sim

Thanks for the feedback. There could be something like that going on.
h20 uses the ATT network.
I tried a Simple Mobile (T-mobile) and no unlock code prompt
I tried a US Cellular LTE card -- would not connect to network -- no unlock code prompt
I tried a Verizon LTE card -- Same as US Cellular
I am stumped as to why this would happen. I would think a locked phone would not accept those cards without an unlock code prompt.
Hi there,
Sorry to say that I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the right search query to find a decent answer.
I'm curious what the value of a sim unlock from one of the many websites out there is? I don't mean the price, but will that code alone make my phone usable in a different region (assuming that the network type is supported?)
I've read a lot of information about region locks on phones, as well as SIM locks. I guess to simplify my question: Do I need to do both of these things, or is the SIM unlock sufficient?
Also, is there a site that sells these codes which XDA supports?
Thanks so much to anyone who can help or direct me to a decent answer.
Well, that depends on how your cell phone is locked. Some phones are locked to a region, let's say if it's region locked in europe it will work with any SIM card in europe, but some are SIM locked to a specific carrier and they will work only with SIM cards from that network and that country. The most unlocking websites on the market sell SIM unlock codes, because if one has an locked phone and whant to use another sim card, it's probably SIM locked. There are many reliable unlocking online services out there, like www.unlockradar.com or www.unlockbase.com
