Installing WaveSecure as a system app - Nexus One General

I installed WaveSecure as a system app a while ago, and then a new version came out. I updated my version using the update.zip provided on the WaveSecure site, but the Market constantly tells me that WaveSecure needs to be updated. I just downloaded the update.zip and flashed it again to make sure I have the newest version, but Market is still telling me to update. Am I doing something wrong?

ROM manager market issues

I have been trying to download the Rom manager update form the market for awhile now. I initially had Rom manager and its key installed. Then the update came in on the market so I clicked it. It said that it was downloaded 100% but it never installs. I can never quit the update because market will crash. Also I have tried to install the app on my phone, and it does not fix the .problem.
Ideas?

What ROM are you running?
2.2
I am just running 2.2
baseband 2.15.x
kernel 2.6.32.15
You are running stock 2.2, you are rooted, but market crashes. Hmm. So to clarify. You have uninstalled Rom Manager and tried re installing it and that doesn't work?
yes
Yeah, thats correct. I also have s-off, just incase you needed to know
Does it just not reinstall at all, or it does just minus update?
As I said I uninstalled the application. I then downloaded it again in the market, when it says its at 100% though it never installs. Initially it said that there was an install error, but not it never stops trying to install. I click cancel and then the market crashes and gives me a force close dialog box
I would recommend the following; settings > applications > manage applications > all. Fine market and clear cache, clear data, and force stop. Then try again.

Worked!
That worked perfectly, I should have tried that awhile ago. Thanks a lot for the help!

Not a problem
I'm having problems with this app. I've used the free version and down loaded a Rom, but it didn't worked it was stuck on the 3 skateboard riding androids. I pulled out the battery and rebooted.
Once rebooted I bought the premimum version and try to install the Rom or any Rom, it kept saying "error occurred while processing the rom list" I don't know what to do....

[Q] Push install apps via market.android.com

I finally got round to watching the Honeycomb features video last night and logged on to market.android.com and tried the 'one-click-install' that should push the app to your phone over the magic of the internet and Androidism.
However it says it's been installed (on the web page) but my phone never receives notification of the app being installed and the app is not installed, so I'm thinking we need a certain version of the Android Market?
I'm running CM7.0 with the GAPPS for it, 2.2.7.
I only have the 1 android device and it's listed as it should be on the install page of any app.
Anyone else got it working?
Worked fine for me when I tried few days ago.

I found that apps pushed from the market.android.com website wouldn't be installed on the phone when running CM7 (I think around nightly #24-ish) but if I switched to a Sense based rom (nDAF's 1.7 based on BlaY0's B-0.7) then the apps would be received and installed. It looks like CM7 might not be compatible with pushing apps from the market web site, unless it's been sorted in more recent nigthly's. Might try it again and also with with CM6.1 when I get a minute.
EDIT:
OK, tried pushing Talking Tom Cat Free from the website but it isn't received on the phone with latest CM7 (nightly #33) and Market 2.2.11 intalled.
UPDATE:
It seems that, for me at least, apps push from the website ok with a clean install of CM7, i.e. data/cache wipe during intall or factory reset of exiting insatllation, but wont work with a restored backup of a pervious intallation. Suggests that it must be some sort of Cache thing?
Thanks going to try fiddle now
Went for a fresh install of cm7.0 that Ali released in early January and it's working now fantastic!
Glad to be of help.
I think it should work with any CM7 release as long as the data/cache is wiped. I had it working with the latest nightly release from yesterday. #33 I think. I might try restoring a older version and then selectively delete the cache from various apps to see if I can find the culprit.

Market re-download problems since .602?

I think this issue started with .602, but I'm not certain. After wiping the phone (and yes backup was always checked off) my apps once installed from the market do not redownload. Some that were installed dont show up on the web version of the market either. Did something break in the second GB update and was there ever a solution for this?
It had been reported to Google. No fix yet.
See http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17354
Apparently, the app download routine "quietly" crashes in the background, and subsequent apps don't restore.

can i reflash 2.3.3 over itself?

Can I use clockworkmod recovery to reflash the 2 part pre rooted ginger 2.3.3 over itself?
I installed it and then used ti backup to make a backup of android market. Then I uninstalled android market thinking that I could restore it from ti backup. Not the case. Now I am stuck with a halfway functioning, older version android market app I found online.
I'm thinking the best way to go about getting things back to "normal" would be to just reflash 2.2.3, however if someone can tell me how to reinstall anrdoid market to fully function again that would be nicer.
Yes you need to reflash. It can be done by the update.zip method. There is also the 4.6.8 update available as a zip file now.
Dont try to tinker with google apps. Most of the time you cannot undo what you did
where can I get the ota zip file? thanks!
I have a somewhat similar problem. Before the OTA update went out, I was running a rooted 2.2.1 with TI. I had removed a few apps that I didn't like, but nothing specifically a "Google App" (unless the "Emergency Alerts" app counts as one of those).
Well, today the update became available for my device and when I went to download and update, it simply restarted my device and said "Update has failed."
Now, when I go into TI, I'm unable to reinstall the Emergency Alerts or even see that it's one of my backed up applications that was removed.
Ideas?

Need help getting Amazon App Store

My Nook Color is rooted with CM10 and trying to install the amazon app store. I have allow unknown installations checked and it still won't let me install. I get it downloaded, it installs and then comes back and says X app not installed. I talked to Amazon this morning and they said the updated new versions don't support rooted devices and so I can't install it. DOES ANYONE HAVE AN OLD VERSION? I am not very techie...but no how to follow directions. Thanks!
After fixing permissions twice and rebooting 3 times...it finally let me install amazon app store! Gremlins at work me thinks!!
