Video Tones as "ringtone" ? - Desire Themes and Apps

Hello,
does any one know an application that can enable videos to be set as ringtones for incoming calls? So far I have found 'Vringo' as a solution but using it didn't allow you to add different videos to different people from the contacts. It allows you to choose only one video.
Thank you in advance.

there should be mivtones (www.mivtones.com) . Never tried it though

Thank you for the tip. i installed it, however the programm is not working properly on my HTC Desire. When i enable it the phone is ringging with the standart ring tone and once i decline the call the video starts playing. I had some issues with the vringo application as well, but it's working fine as long as you don't turn the vibration on.

i had this app on my iphone and its great it will probably be a few updates to work out the bugs but otherwise there support section is good about getting out the best product possible

In-call recording app - any?

I would like to record calls automatically (both my voice and the caller's one).
Is there some app that can do this?
Thank you all for answering
sorry for being an Android noob, but too many years into WM...

Thank you for your fast reply
I took the time to read the comments of the users, and they were far from enthusiastic....
Have you tried the app yourself?
How did it worked for you?
No call recording apps work, they only ever record your side of the convo unless on speaker phone. It's something to do with an android limitation. Not sure why there's not been one for rooted devices though, I'd pay for that.

I'm looking for this too. I had even bought Ultimate Voice Recorder based on good experience of it on WinMo, but it wasn't until after more than a week of it running in the background, generating loads of .3gp files did I notice that they were all 0 bytes long.
Kind of ridiculous that this works on 1.5/1.6, but not on 2.x.
using totalrecall here, works beautifully!
@DomFel, are you using a Desire? great news if total recall works on it...

total recall works on desire?
Felt it was necessary to bump this one. I have tested Total recall but it clearly states that it will not record for +2.0 devices.
I'm getting some very unpleasant calls from even more unpleasant people, and desperately need to record calls. Got a great recorder on Winmo (Audio touch note). Is it really so that Winmo haves something that Android even cant support?? I would be surprised if this was so!
Please let me know if you have a working app.
so am i.
im looking for in-call recorder app.. keep me posted..
Hey guys
I am using vRecorder on my desire and it works. There are some annoying features though:
First time you open the app, it will ask you to donate. Just press 0$ and afterwards press the back-button.
The following times when you open the app, it will show you a "commercial" asking you if you want to check out other apps from the developer.
It records all calls (in- and out-going), so there is no record button. It just always records all calls (it is possible to exclude numbers though).
Hope it helps, and let me know if you guys find a better app
Just tried vRecorder and it records my voice but not the other's. Other than that it's great
at mine there was a pre installed in call recorder...but its only called in-call recorder...nothing else..its build by HTC
Just tried vRecorder when I set up a new voicemail greeting. It recorded both sides and it was really good, but then it went rubbish. I worked out why-it's only recording from the microphone and first part when it was good was when I had it on speakerphone. It went really quiet after that, and was only audible as I was in a quiet room and my volume is high. Uninstalled...
Read this http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2117
Dont forget to star the issue.
So is there any info if this issue will be fixed in Froyo? Or if an app for a rooted Desire have turned up?

Unaudible "Second incoming call" notification

Hi everyone,
I've been running FroyoStone on my HD2 since a while, but I've just noticed this morning that my "Second incoming call notification sound" is unaudible !
To be clear : supposing X is calling me while I'm already online with Y, the screen displays the X caller ID (if the screen is on - for example when I use loudspeaker), but I cannot hear any notification sound...
Would you have a solution to this issue because I've missed many calls recently with that (and my darling is mad to me now although I swore to her I had really not noticed her calls !!! ).
Thanks XDA.
Did you recently mute any application? (e.g. motonav, google navigation)
Try unmuting these applications while they are running and check settings - sound to see if any of the sliders are muted.
Also try unmuting while browser is playing sound from some website.
One of these should fix your problem.
Please give feedback.
Hi and thank-you for your reply.
I've never muted any apps, but tried anyway your tricks. It is still not working.
My phone rings when I receive a "first call" but a second call, while already online, is never notified...
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
weird, I get proper notification with second incoming call.
I would only suggest you the obivious: Backup your current Android folder and temprorarily try another build to see if you get the sound. Thus you can find out if it is build related. Also, do you get notification with winmo?
I've tried to call myself while already online at a moment where everything is very quiet... and I can hear a notification ! Very very tiny one, almost unaudible but it's there !
Would you know a way to make it loudder ?

[Q] Partial Skype possibilty?

One ideal Skype use is to be able to communicate via WiFI in any country. However, there appears there is yet no way to send voice into the nook, either Bluetooth or USB headset.
There are reports of folks being to hear but not send.
For travelers, would it be possible to send tones to a voice connection that would provide access to voice mail which could be listened to???
Any thoughts appreciated.
If i remember correctly all voice drivers were removed and the headphone slit in the nook does not support voice input either
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
Audio is not supported. Understood.
The query is whether touch-tones can be digital generated to operate devices or VM remotely using Skype. The connection is complete, all that is needed are the tones.
Add on to skype question
I'd like to add on to the previous skype question about the nook color. Even though there is no camera, and no microphone, is there a way to still receive calls(video and/or audio). I've done some testing and it seems I can't receive calls or my friends video because it won't pick up a cam or mic from the nook color.
A suggestion to what I'm asking is to find a way to simulate or make a fake virtual camera that's blank so that skype will think there is a camera, and receive video from the other end of the call.
Any help is appreciated

Skype does have a dialpad built into it. If you click on the little bubble with the plus on it, there should be an option. I tried it with mute on, though, and it didn't play the DTMF tones. I wasn't sure if you tried that already or not. Surely there is a way to do this.

I'm not sure if I fully understand. If audio maybe the issue, is video a viewable possibility for skype calls? If so, any ways to accomplish that?

If you still need Skype with dialpad (removed in latest version) you can use the 2.9.0.315 version. Download it from androiddrawer.com

[Q] Low ringtone volume, no SMS notification

Hi All!
I've flashed a [JB] [4.1.2] Pixeldroid Jelly Bean V2.4[AOKP] rom to my HD2, almost everything is good,
but one problem makes me crazy.
The ringtone volume is very low. Interesting is, that if I choose rintone in settings its "preview" volume is great, but if real person calls me it is very quiet.
I read a lot about common Android problem and tried a number of volume boost apps with no result. I read also, that on Jelly Bean these all apps don't work with external speaker.
I read the whole ROM developer thread, and nobody mentioned about low volume problem. Do I have just no luck?
Before I had Windows Phone and volume was OK. And as I said, also it's loud enough playing music to an external speaker or selecting ringtone. Only if somebody calls me it's quiet.
Another problem, that was mentioned in the developer thread is no notification tone receving SMS, at all! just vibration.
Please help.

MusicFX does not help to me What I did an mp3 little bit louder but with disorting, helps but not so much.
With SMS vibration first I had also no vibration, it is switched off by default. In SMS window press HD2 middle "windows" button, choose Settings, and somewhere there is Vibration in menu, set to "Always".

New version 3.0 is online. Did anyone test it?
Question: (I'm new with Android) how do I store/restore my applications? For example, I have already Navigon with hundred MB maps on SD Card, should I install all of them again?
I heard "Titanium Backup" - helps this?

Pixeldroid ROM, look at first post. I think the low ringtone volume problem is general Jelly Bean problem, I read a lot about Nexus Phones, that was upgraded to Jelly Bean and have low ringtone volume.
But maybe custom-ROM developers has an idea how to fix this?
Well I'm going crazy, or Adnroid is the system from the Future, which heart my wishes and corrects itself
Yesterday I had no tone receiving SMS, and ringtone volume was very low. Yes, yesterday I definitly received SMS and calls.
Today the volume is good and SMS tone also
I did nothing - I'm still on Pixeldroid 2.4, no apps installed - nothing. One thing I can remember - It hanged yesterday as I wanted to run Angry Birds Start Wars for my son, and I pulled out the batterie, and boot it again. Two days ago I played with and set Musik Effects to "Musik FX", but without any changes.
May be this is it: set to Musik FX and reboot?

try this if you want to ..its what i did
copy the attached musicFX apk to your sdcard then with esfile explorer or root explorer copy it from your sdcard to system/app then paste and overwrite the existing one then reboot
it helped me with low volume and ringtones
i noticed my 'dspmanager' quits alot on me. i will be listening to pandora or something, pck up the phone to adjust volume and get a message 'dspmanager has stopped working' or something to that effect. maybe that's the root issue to the volume problem.
in fact, just came across this on another link. i'll give that a try.
This is not fix, but you can turn off DSP...Go to DSPManger> uncheck Enable for each configuration (Heaset, Phone speaker, and Bluetooth device).

nevermind, no love. seems the dspmanager version baked into the JB ROM doesn't provide the ability to disable it for those settings.

same problem with ringtone and sms tone
I am having the same problem, but this problem only started when I changed my sim card
to a new one as my old sim card would not receive a signal.
I was running my HD2 with a jellybean rom for months without this low volume on ringtone problem.
As soon as I inserted a new sim card , the phone now has the low volume problem.
I have tried to re-flash the rom , it works but only for a few hours.
The ringtone and sms tone will be loud for up to 1 day , and then it suddenly goes low on the ringtone,
and does not work at all for sms.
Anyone with a fix ?
Why does it work for 1 day and then go like this ?

This is just a shot in the dark and is probably useless..
Are you using MP3, WAV or some other sound format in some cases and OGG in some others? In other words, let's say your ringtone is OGG but the notification is MP3 or the other way around? If yes, try to change *ALL* sounds to OGG and see if that helps.
Thanks for your help, but it did not work.
The funny thing is , when you select a ringtone from settings/sound it plays
back loud, also if i try to adjust the volume from low to full it also plays back loud.
Only when i get an incoming call or sms , thats when its low, too low . I often miss the call
as i do not hear it.
I tried re-flashing the rom, it worked but only for 1 day, then suddenly switched.
No obvious reason or installation.
What bothers me is that the HD2 did not have this low volume problem before
I changed my sim card.

Unfortunately I have seen this issue reported in various devices and ROMs.
My guess would be it is something on the Android / Google level though I cannot say what.

Question Enable Auto Phone Call Recording

Hello to everyone,
I hope someone could help me, i need to record any phone call that i make/receive, the phone should record the call without messages to the caller about the phone call is recorded.
Did someone can tell me how can i do this? i have seen that one option is to root the device but if someone have other suggestion is better for me than root the device.
I have also tried this app: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...cord-phone-calls-from-the-phone-line.1441643/ but use the microphone so sometimes there are very noise.

Yes. I am in the same situation. The only things I can think of are, 1. A call recorder app. or, 2. Using a different dialer, say from a Oneplus phone. But I'm still looking into it. I have been using a call recorder app that seems to work somewhat okay but not that great.
I Hope Simeone could help US..
I have also seen that changing the phone app Is not the solution because some apps uses CSC

That's good to know because I was going to try it. The thing is, depending on what version you have, call recording is built in. So that tells me that all variants could have it built in maybe ? Not sure but I am continuing to do research when I have the time.
Yes, I think that every android phone have this functionality, the problem is that phone app use CSC to enable o not, this is what I have understand

Not really. I do have two apps installed that are recording calls pretty good ! One of them I installed from Google play called Call recorder. And the other one is one that I came across in one of the posts for the Nothing phone. I have both running at the same time and both are recording calls pretty good. However, I would rather have the inbuilt option.
I'm from Italy and have Nothing Phone for a couple of weeks now so I may be missing something.
I've tried ACR, a well thought app for call recording, but unfortunately it doesn't record bluetooth calls (earphone or car's) so as a couple of other apps. I guess it's a problem that every third party app is having, given Google policy.
So, I'm using the Google phone app call recording utility (upper right corder three dots > settings > call recording). This option has popped out the first time I put in the sim card. I suppose everyone can access this option but with Google you never know...
This makes available a button on the phone screen, a switch between call recording and not recording. Actually, it's only manageable when the call is started and it's available switching in the second screen of the app.
Overall it works pretty well, even on Bluetooth calls. The calls are accessible via the call log history and can de saved. The only drawdown is that you have to put a meaningful name to the file when saving it.
What drives me CRAZY is that it doesn't have the option to ALWAYS record the calls. Apparently, it's an available option (Google has a help page dedicated: https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/9803950?hl=en) but not for the Italian version. Or at least for my version
Does anyone know if and how I can make it a permanent choice? I don't want to manually switch it every time...
Any help is very appreciated
