Ive had a ROM on my phone for about 4-5 months then when I was charging it with my quick charger it just shut off wont boot, hour later I come home plug it in the charger.... the light(so called FLASH for the camera) wont turn off, I plucked out the battery nothing happened, when I put it back in the light turns on and still wont boot. What happened?
Perhaps, the battery has had its days, better try with another battery!
Sorry for the bad english.
I had my xperia for like 2 weeks now and last night i plug the usb from the
computer to my phone and my phone just completely shuts off. there is a red
light once in a while when its being charged. i charged it for 6 hours now and
it still won't turn on!??! Somehow my phone vibrates ones every two minutes
when it is off or being charged...have and idea??
are you still charging from the computer or the wall outlet. if not doing so already, i recommend that you charge from the wall outlet instead of the computers usb.
it may take a while before the red light goes out. turn off the phone and recharge it overnight.
i'm charging it from the wall outlet. The red light doesnt turn on anymore.
and still i can't turn on my phone.
1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Remove the stylus.
3. Use your stylus to press in the small RESET hole which is along the slot where you just took your stylus out of. you will feel something click in as you press it, like a hidden button.
if that does't help, take out the battery and put it back in after a second or two or three. hehe.
then connect it to the wall charger.
I had this problem a few days ago... it didn't switch on even after a whole night's charge
you just have take the battery out, then put the usb cable in, then put the battery in... you'll notice the red light doesn't flash anymore... BUT!! don't try to switch on... i'd leave it for around 1 minute, before switching it back on. if you just leave it; the red light will start flashing again

I tried all of the following and it still doesnt work.
i put the usb cable in and it pops up the red light and my computer says it doesnt recognize the device. and my phone vibrates happends every 1 min or so..
but it still won't turn on
no, plug the usb cable directly into the power point. it's useless using a computer to charge the phone anyway, it doesn't supply enough power. just keep trying different combinations... mine ended up working after what i said before, although i did use the car charger in may car as after the charge in the night didn't work.
1 - take out battery
2 - insert usb cable to phone and power point
3 - insert battery
4 - wait 30 secs to 1 minute
5 - press power button for like 4 secs...
man this sucks i did that too and its still not working...
hmm i don't know what happen to it. it was still full battery when it suddenly
shuts down. could it be the battery?
tried manually booting SPL??? hold volume down button and press power and keep holding for 3-4 seconds..... see if that works
i did that too still no sign.
i know its not dead cause when charge it the phone vibrates every 1 min or so
and it stops after maybe 5 mins
I have problems with charging my X1 with my PC.
My X1 only charges when my PC is turned on, with my Elf (HTC Touch) it charges also when my PC was turned off.
So I thought X1 would charge too, when my PC is turned off.
But it seems it drains the battery out of my X1 :-s
So next morning, my X1's battery was empty (after 3 hrs charging on USB => then it was full, and let it connected with my pc in the night, when pc is turned off.
It was quite frustrating for me, but I really don't know why this happens to X1 and not with my Elf.
try taking out the battery, wait 5 mins, re- insert it.
Then start charging via wall socket. wait 5 mins again and then breifly press the power button, should vibrate once then turn on.
Probably the wrong place but this forum is beyond navigation for newbies like me...
if you have let your battery run dry and can no longer charge and get into your win7 hd2, here's how I did it...remove sim and sd card, plug charger in, it will boot and charge again... worked for me...
I'll make sure to keep this in mind, if it works! I'll make an edit to announce my results when that unfortunate day comes.
Pulling the battery out and sticking it back in works too.

Nope, that only works if you still have charge left in battery. removing and putting it back in also unlocks it because if you power on phone with USB in it locks for some reason. Well mine does anyway.
If your battery is completley dead then you have no choice (atm) to either charge the battery externally with a dock or by using a USB cable with end cut off (red wire to positive/black to negative).

Yes. That's what I also do many times. Never fails
No need to pull out your micro sd, it might cause your rom corrupt. Be careful!
Here's What works for me
Remove the battery .. put it back ... keep the down volume key pressed n press the power key ... THE phone will be on recovery screen... plug THE usb in .. leave it like this for like 15 mins n now reboot . It will be recharged just enuff to power the phone on ... keep the usb plugged and it will start rechaging ...
None of these tricks worked for me, and I didn't want to cut my usb cable...
But I solved the problem with dual boot. Now I can charge my hd2 when it's turned off, and I even have my battery able to charge up to 100%
I presume the phone will not charge if theres not enough power to enter WP7.
I thought the phone would charge by the USB power lead if its turned off.
I guess enter MAGLDR or the Tricolour screen will allow it to charge?

I've let my phone turn itself off twice since I've been on WP7 and pulling the battery has been enough to get it to boot up far enough to charge both times so maybe I've just been lucky or maybe the phone shuts down before it's completely discharged...
Oh man, this happened to me the other day. Battery died, phone wouldn't hold a charge. Freaked out!! But after some trial and error it worked.
Its not possible to charge the phone when its turned off?
This happened to me when I was still using WinMo. When I connected the phone to charger, it seemed dead (no led light), but after some time (I left it charging over night) it catched up and charged.
This is not possible with WP7? I wouldnt say, that MGDLR could change the way of charging when the phone is off.
keep an external charger for this problem. at least we can hope in the next update of the ROM will solve this problem
In my case, since I fall asleep while listen to music, in morning I wake up, phone already shutdown and can not boot. Even when I plug in, it boot to htc welcome then reboot.
I have tried to pull out the battery and put it back but nothing happen, my phone keep reboot.
So, I pull out the battery and charge with external charger (can charge battery only without phone). Then after 30min put it back then it works.
Thanks god. So be prepare an external charger because WP drain more power then we thought even with the warning 10%. I can not have enough power left for an over night.
This works for me.
This is known maglard issue. This steps works for me every time.
1. Remove battery and after few seconds place it back.
2. Connect your phone with PC through USB
3. Now enter bootloader by pressing Vol Down and Power buttons at same time.
4. Leave it connected for a few minutes.
5. Disconnect your phone from PC and remove battery for a few seconds.
6. Now place battery back and power up your phone.
7. You will start WP7 and now you can continue charging battery normaly.
MGDLR choose last option
it hapens to me and what i have done is in MGDLR I choose last option an it satart charging after some minutes you have to take out the baterry and reboot
it work for me
Happened to me this morning:
1) Took battery out, placed in cradle, put battery in, and held down 'POWER' whilst it booted to MAGLDR.
2) Selected USB Mass Storage Mode, waited for 10 minutes, pulled the battery out, whilst still in the cradle.
3) Re-inserted battery, allowed WP7 to boot, and orange light came on whilst booting, and started charging in WP7.
Thanks to all in this thread!
Nick
Tghe VOL DOWN + POWER works. Happened to me yesterday and after 10 minutes in tricolor I was able to boot.
Bootloader Charges Battery
VICTORY! I was frustrated, and pulling out the battery for a few seconds didn't help at all. Putting the phone in the bootloader (tricolor) screen for 10 minutes worked for me. Phone is back in WP7 and is charging.
No need to pull out battery just hold down power button boot to magdlr main menu leave charger in for 5 mins than boot wp7 (first option in menu) than shud work
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
So I thought I had turned my phone off last night because I left the charger at work but apparently it did not shut down and the battery died. I know that MAGLDR doesn't allow charging while the phone is off, does anyone know a way to get enough of a charge to get the phone to turn on so I can charge it fully?
I can charge in MAGLDR, just the orange light sticks on and will stay on until you pull the battery. Try giving it a few minutes just to get some charge in it, pull the battery, turn on and start the booting process, then plug the charger back in, works for me on NAND builds, did it last night even whilst calibrating my battery.
Ok I will plug it in and leave it for a bit, the orange light shuts off after a few seconds but we will see what happens. I was always under the impression that MAGLDR didn't charge

That's correct, magldr won't charge.
Another solution I saw a few days back said to go into Bootloader and charge from there - just tried it as an experiment and unless it charges without activating the charging light, Bootloader doesn't charge either.
When I had a similar problem I just kept booting it up into WP7, allowing it to charge for a few minutes until WP7 shut itself down again and then pulling the battery to repeat.
It took 5-10 cycles of this but eventually the phone decided it had enough battery to charge itself - seems daft to me too, but there you go.
If all else fails, search this forum - there was thread from a week or so ago where someone chopped a USB cable to charge directly to the battery terminals. A spare battery is also an option if it fits your wallet and timescales.

This may sound trivial, but have you tried a different charger/USB cable? I had problems with one of my cables (actually I think it was the stock USB cable) but putting it in another charger/switching cable did the trick. Try another charger, and let it charge for a couple of hours and try to turn it on.
