mute/silent when making calls

sorry for bribging this up here.but its a big issue to people who make calls a lot. this topic was made in the general section.but thought I'd bring it up here l,hoping the devs can look into this.
issue: when u make a call,the call log/time logger starts running and u don't hear anything,no ringing or anything.at all.u have to hang up and dial 2-4 times for it to finally ring. apparently the other person ur calling receives the call but hears nothing as well. this issue has been reported on dk28 roms.I , myself am running bonsais latest ext4 rom and am having this issue still. some people have suggested that turning the speaker phone on and off when making a call fixes this,but I refuse to do this for all my calls.lol.no offense to the developers,but coming from a hero,I never had calling issues whatsoever . and having issues like this on an expensive ass phone doesn't make sense lol.please help.thanks.

Same issue here! Except on mine it will show the call timer and the other side can hear me but I can't hear them... gotten me in trouble already haha. Annoying that our 600 dolar phones can only make phone calls sometimes.

I have this issue as well on dk28, if you go back to dl18 it fixes it. And its not the phones fault its the unofficial leaked froyo

I have the same problem, and it's persisted across 3 different ROMs (all DK28 based, though).
If it's truly a problem with the leaked source, why are more people not experiencing it? It affects at least 75% of my outgoing calls. Do people just not use their phones as phones that much?
I haven't tried the speaker trick yet.

Have this issue a well. Found that if u cycle ur speaker phone on and off it will correct for one call

I've had this problem as well.
I thought it was cause I accidentally put my phone in between two slices of bread with cheese and mustard and bit into it...

yup add me to the dk28 phone outgoing call issue list 8)
Edit: It does not happen every time but I will have to give/remenber the speaker phone cycle test when it does.

Some Calls Blocked others come through ??

Hi every one.
Having strange issues with the HD2 some calls come through to my phone but some just ring twice then get hung up on without showing any info on my phone.
At the moment im running MDJ nand rom radio 2.15.50.14 alos having same issue on a nexus one with aribic os installed.
I have reinstalled and whiped but still same issue no call blocking apps on the phones and its only sum numbers that are blocked some att numbers can get through others cant bolth land line and cell
bolth phones are t-mobile and on difrent contracts and names

Strange wonder what it could be whats your rom, radio,provider.
I dont like it one bit as this phone is my biz line and dont know howmany calls im missing. they cant even get my voice mail.
Any others fell free to chime in on what could be the issue

Aww WTF i fell like a noob Settings>Call settings>Blacklist dont know how the numbers black listed on my phone and my buddys bolth are using cyanogen V7 mabe some back door in the os or some other app

You know it is kind of odd you would say that seeing as all of MDJ Cyanogen Mod stuff just resently got pulled from XDA. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Something about not revealing his sources for some of his work, but that is all I really know about it right now. I just learned this information yesterday.

Its you as the user, not paying attention when ending the call
MDJ failed to make his stuff available I understand, and that is in conflict with the open source stuff so until then - its sad as his work is fantastic

help please, call/sound issue after flashing latest nightly CM

So I've been looking for an answer but I haven't come across one. There are a lot of similar issues but I haven't found one exactly like mine.
I'm a noob.. so sorry for that. I just rooted my samsung vibrant last night and I flashed the latest nightly cyanogenmod. Everything was fun and going great and still is except for the fact that my phone is more like a badass itouch with no calling ability now. When I try to make calls, it stays stuck on dialing like it's trying to get signal to complete the call but the call actually gets through. I know this because the person I was calling called back. Though the call gets through, I can't hear anything. There's no ringing when I call someone. I can't tell if they pick up and if they do then I can't hear them.
I haven't yet tried to wipe and reflash or backup to how my phone was before i flashed CM because it took forever to get things just how I wanted them. I was hoping to find a fix before I did these.
Awesome features, but I'll be sad to see these go if my phone can't make calls.
please help?

Keep trying to reflash. Do not use nightly 9. Try 6...worked for me after many tries.

Agreed. #9 has an issue with audio during calls. #7 has worked well for me.

[Q] Strange N4 Behavior

Greetings my nexus brothers.
I post here today to inquire of a strange phenomenon that has befallen my device.
You see, when I try to make calls... I don't hear anything from the earpiece unless i plug in my headphones.
But before you jump to conclusions, I too thought it was a simple earpiece hardware failure however, when I made calls through the vonage app the sound came through the earpiece like normal.
I am currently running the device on android 4.2.2 with the ParanoidAndroid rom and mako kernel.
Does any of you have a clue as to what might be the issue?

what about trying an other kernel...?

did you update your radio? you cant use the old one with 4.2.2 roms. you absolutely must update to the 4.2.2 radio.

you are absolutely right when it comes to the older 33 radio. but ive had a few people report that the even older 27 radio is working with 4.2.2 roms. i havent tried, so i cant confirm it myself.

It seems strange however, that a radio problem would cause an earpiece issue... because I am still able to make calls, but I cant hear out of the phones earpiece unless i make internet calls
at any rate im going to try to reflash paranoid android and if this doesnt work I will try the radio suggestion

i dont think that its as much a radio issue as it is a driver issue. this started happening when the rest of the 4.2.2 drivers were released last week.

You must be right... I tried reflashing Paranoid Android (Latest Version), Tried the Franco kernal, and flashed the 33 radio img.. but its still the same behavior... phone makes calls but earpeice is silent.
Do you think i should reflash the drivers?

no. try the 27 radio, i hear people have luck with it and 4.2.2 roms. if not, then youll need the 48 radio http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227

those that had old radios all reported they couldnt make calls anymore. they could not hear the other person speaking. sounds awfully familiar, right? when aosp 4.2.2 was released and the kernel was still 4.2.1 the radio even caused stuff like autobrightness to fail - so you never know how deeply it affects your system.
point is, you just cant use your radio anymore, they're obsolete. some people on xda have suggested that google has deliberately made the 4.2.2 compounds mandatory to make you abandon the lte capable radios. so you basically have the choice now, stay for ever on 4.2.1 or update.

...Yeah I think you make a good point. Damn, and here I was trying to hold out until t-mobile rolled out their LTE so I could finally make use of the LTE chip.
I suppose ill just have to upgrade the radio... I could always go back right?
Well hopefully Google releases a LTE capable, 32 gig Nexus 4 and stops toying with us... lord knows I would give so many things for that.

Call quality issue - CM11

Im running the latest CM11 mod with KK 4.4.4, and Im facing trouble with the call quality. The voice of the other person is very low .. even on loudspeaker.
Does any one know what could be done about this? I've checked the settings and found nothing useful there.

I'm going to test it properly and get back to you on this ..
Though since I had this ROM I've have noticed some call quality probs with different people. For example the loudspeaker volume isnt loud enough at max volume.

Did you check CM thread before asking? I'm not being rude, but this bug is listed in the first post and and discussed along the thread. There is also the available workaround over there.

Well I didn't check the thread.. but I definitely went through the first post to get instructions for installing the rom and I don't think I've seen anything there for this.
Though I guess I'll take a second look if you say they've already posted something there.

Good idea just to help you, it's right after the instructions for installing the ROM, where it says know bugs. There is only this bug listed: random voice in call quality. You can flash the Chinese modem, it will fix, but it could cause more wakelocks. And if you had the 4.2.2 touchwiz rom before flashing CM, you will not be able to make call again if you decide to restore the 4.2.2 TW ROM without flashing a recently modem. New modems have a different imei code mode that overwrite the old one.

Let's see .. Dont feel so comfortable doing all this but might have to later on.
