If the new theme is in a .cab file, just download this file to your SD card and press it to start installation. After that, perform a soft reset and it should work.
The different themes are all in setting-home/today-items.

yes, open your file explorer and navigate to the folder/place on your SD card where you copied the .cab file. Tap the .cab file and installation begins. You can also choose where you want to install the program (phone or SD card).

hey guys...
ok ive had few problems actually experimenting too many things kicks off the rom OBVIOUSLY...i would like to do something like this....
1.my xda II hard resets it self for obvious reasons (too many experiments)
2.there are too many programs installed on my xda II which i use most of the time, few of them are cab so its easy for me to copy them to storage card and install but many others are .exe so everytime a hard reset i have to connect the xda II to the cradle and run the software from the computer....
what i would like to do is just convert or extract .cab from .exe so that everytime i dont have to go through the same thing....this means i can also copy all my softwares as backup on my xda II storage
P.S : there are only few .exe softwares that allow me to extract .cab from it by right clicking and going to winzip option or winrar .....most of them are to be run all over again.
please help
thanks alot in advance
if it's exe which you run from the pc and it using activesync to install the program in most cases all you need to do is to chage the extention from exe to zip and copy out the cab from inside the zip file
otherwise you need an cab maker program search should give you a bunch

An alternative method (slightly long winded but reliable)...
Install the product on the device then install it again, when the "Reinstall Y/N?" dialog appears on the device perform a soft reset. If installing to Storage or Storage Card, the CAB will be in the root of that device, if installing to Main Memory you will find it in \windows\appmgr\install

Yes, you have to wait for the CAB file to be copied over to teh device and then it says "Reinstall Y/N?" on the device, then you do the soft reset.
If you are going to use CAB files I would strongly recommend you grab a copy of CABInst as well, it is excellent (and free).

I made a Family Guy them for both TF3D & S2U2, and I wanted to share it. Below also are some ringtones and wallpapers.
Also added icons for roms with HD manila. Includes stock, calendar, and sound profile icons.
To Install the TF3D files:
1. Download and unzip the folder to your desktop.
2. Copy and paste all of the files into the \Windows folder on your device.
Say yes to all when it asks if you want to replace these files.
3. Soft reset and you're done.

Mediafire Family Guy HD Manila Extra Icons
To install the S2U2 files:
1. Download and unzip the folder to your desktop.
2. Find the S2U2 folder on your device, it's usually in Program Files on the device's main memory.
3. Drag the gfx folder to your PC desktop to save it and then delete it on the device.
4. Copy the new gfx folder into the S2U2 folder.
5. Soft reset and you're done.

Yes it does, as well as the comm manager tab.
Quck question!

Ok, so I am going to sound like an idiot but I don't know so I'm gonna ask anyway
When #2 says "paste all files into the /Windows folder on your device" is that one you create with the / or is it just the Windows folder on My Device? That folder has soo many files in it so it seems like youo would lose those files if you wanted to delete one day... And I have not installed a theme this way. I have done cab file themes and done the TF3D route, but not the manilla way...
Someone wanna help this poor soul? lol, thanks!
Fantastic! All we need now is a "Shipoopi" ringtone...

That's basically what the cab installs do. Use the folder that is already called Windows on the device.

Ok, so you install it to the Windows folder which has tons of files. So what happens if you want to uninstall the theme and put back the original or some other one?

There are places on XDA to get the original theme back, or you can drag all of the manila files from the windows folder into a folder on your PC to copy them and save for later. Yes you put them in the windows folder with all of the files in it. Just drag over from PC desktop to windows folder and soft reset.
Any chance of making it a .cab or .theme extension

Sync your device with ActiveSync. Transfer the cab file to your device. Browse to where you copied the cab file on your device with a file browser (Total Commander, File Explorer, etc.) and then run the cab file (this is within your device, not on your computer).
Welcome to the wonderful world of flashing lol. Im actually suprised that you flashed a rom but haven't read on .cabs yet
Anyway if you have the .cab downloaded to your pc just copy it to your sdcard. Then use file explorer to navigate to where you placed the .cab, select it and it will install. Most cabs will ask if you want to install to device or sdcard, it's that simple. Good Luck
Thanks everyone!!! Im hooked!

you could also just drag the file from ur comp to sdcard. then open file explorer->tap the cab file and it'll take u to an install page.
