Is there any software for free texting like for the IPhone

I have just bought HD2 and coming from an IPhone the spec is great especially that huge screen.
But I'm missing a lot of app that make the Iphone so great. I have search but cannot find what I'm looking for.
Can someone point me below software alternative for Windows Mobile:
1) Iphone Textfree or Text Now (unlimited SMS using DATA) - what Windows Mobile App can do this?
2) Beejives (IM all in one) - what Windows mobile app can do this
3) PictureSafe (password protect picture) - what Windows mobile app can do this
This is my 3 most common use app. If someone can point me to a Windows Mobile alternative I will sell my Iphone and stick with the HD2. Thanks

Not sure about #1 or #3, but you have a couple of options for #2:

Fring
Nimbuzz

I have spent couple days trying to find comparable software on Windows Mobile so I can give this HD2 for my wife as a present but I guess I have failed.
Can someone help or I will resale this phone and get her an Iphone like mine instead. Thanks

I think is better to sale it, if you are lucky you can get around 300 euros after 2 days of use.
And then go ahead and buy a brand new Iphone

Find an invite for Google Voice. You'll get free SMS through data.

The OP was so lazy, you'd almost suspect him of being an iPhone owner. No, wait a minute.....

Unfortunately the google voice is by invitation (I have been waiting for mos) and the Beejive for windows mobile is a beta that appears to not be working(if you read their forum).
Any other ideas?

Guys, we've won an iPhone user over to WinMo and you flame him! Maybe he should have used the search, but then let's be gentle with him . He's just venturing out into a world of freedom, where you can download apps from anywhere .
Yes, he's not used to searching, but let's educate him not have a dig. After all he's seen the light!

I have a friend who uses Beejive on his TP2 running WinMo6.5.

Fully rooted, SlingPlayer not showing up in the Market

I was so excited when I got the email saying that the SlingPlayer for Android is released. So I checked the Market and ... well it's not there.
My other friend's stocked Evo already purchased and installed SlingPlayer but I just can't seem to find it no matter what in Market.
I read somewhere that it was because the Market checks the OS build and such to make sure it's okay for that platform.
Anybody has any ideas?
P.S. I have mine fully rooted.

Well mine is the stock ROM that the full root supplied, with a "test key" after the build number.
Not sure if that's the cause or what but I guess if I really don't have no choice but to use a leaked APK then... meh.
Any ideas?

Try another ROM? I'm running OMJ and it shows up in the market on mine.

hell, with all the trouble people are having even finding this app i don't blame them for downloading it for free.

The quality is actually pretty bad. I have the HD sling, hooked up via component cables. Basically, there are no options to adjust any quality settings. This is what it looks like at home over wifi. And yes, I pulled my cablemodem power to make sure it was actually using the in house wifi.
Source is a 1080i image that looks awesome over my 5mb up connection, on my PC. On the phone, just barely worth watching at arms lenght.
Note the graininess on 1 & 2, and the TERRIBLE aliasing (jaggies) on 3.
Not worth $30, to me.

Well thanks guys, but I end up finding it somewhere the lights don't shine.
It looks okay with my Solo over Component at 720p.
Beats the heck out of the Touch Pro 2 though!

right..you're suppose to replace that 'test' ROM with a rooted ROM so the market works etc.

Where'd you find it?

New app store for HD2 (coming soon)

Hello i am a htc hd2 owner and i know how hard it is to find some apps and games for this divice as there dotted all over the internet.
i only just started 2 night just made a quick design and 1 app to download in html but i am soon to make this into an app in the next 2 weeks. i have about 130apps i know of and tested on the phone and will give them all ratings and so on but atm its just the design stage.
Just want to know what you think of the basic design.
Be warned this is very early stages i have 2 weeks of work and plan to make it withing 2 weeks.

it works now, but i dont like the idea of a web browser app... if there's enough votes, I can build a (awesome looking + fast), app store (more like a repo, but will work the same way)...
I know php, so im thinking have a web portal for devs/app-makers to upload apps to... and then have an client app as a download portal... and I can prolly make it have a metro-esque UI... i have a huge collection of apps, but most of them are paid, so unless lets say gameloft decides to upload them to the repo and get paid through an app like this... theres no way to put those on there even :-/... if you guys want one for free apps/games... jsut comment below...

Hey, this is a great idea and could blow up in a big way for the forum users/cooks! Even if you did an app, the cooks could have you put in a section for them so you could link their ROMs and tweaks all in one handy location. Problem I see is so many people wanting it to be updated all the time and you not having the time to do it; and I doubt you would get enough donations to make this a full time job! But I do think this is a great idea, app or browser based! Looks promising so far!

my plan is to make it into an app it was just a little test only spent a few min on it last night. Just design stage at the moment.

cool... yea lemme know if u need help... ... and i still prefer the design to be something metro-esque... HD2 deserves better eye candy than the iPhone
EDIT: Oh and dont like the idea of hosting files on megaupload... I have a server with lots of space and unlimited bandwidth... so like I said... web portal for devs/companies to upload apps... and client portal on phone to download straight from the server...

What's up with all the hating on the new design? That's just the page that opens up the first time! Who knows what the rest of the market is like and how they sort and list their apps. I'm just saying don't be so quick to judge it.

I'd like a market where you can get rid of the god damn pay apps that are utterly useless or don't use or ever plan to use again.
For instance.. OpenHome.. It's old crap and no one uses it anymore yet it contributes to "My Apps" clutter. I have a decent collection of pay crap I simply don't use, and don't ever intend to use again.. In 2 years our "My Apps" list is going to be stupidly long and a burden. Google needs a "Delete from account" option.

Honestly I think its because it looks like a winpho7 home screen and I'm sure I speak for many around here when I say.....winpho7 looks like sh!t

This...and maybe let us hide apps from the front page that we aren't interested in (I'm looking at you taking tom cat every time I open the market) and filter out ones we already have installed.

It's funny, because there are a lot of people that think WinPhone7 looks great (I being among them) but it is certainly a polarizing design. There are many people that you do, indeed, speak for. Nobody seems to be in the middle, that's for sure. You love it or you hate it.

New XDA Theme

Well this new look is a big change. I refresh my page and bam! New layout, lol.
Thoughts on it?

Too big. I browse XDA on my second monitor which is a 15 inch. Besides that, I think it looks alright.

I like it. It is bigger. Should look better on my 24" Monitor when I get it, also should look much better at 1080p as well.

it is a bit large but I think I like it better than the 2010 theme. I wish they had a floating bar a the top though, one that would stay while you scroll with the account options and maybe page selection.

I fixed my problem by going to control panel, edit options, and changing the skin to the last one on the list. Now I get the nice theme and I will not have to read XDA on my bigger monitor.

I like my pages to load fast and barely any lag so i like the old version 2010 style
And i have a fast computer, as well as good internet for browsing just sucks with downloading is all

That's what Adblock is for.
I've blocked every single ad on this website, as well as disabled user signatures. Got tired of the load times and the needless scrolling.

how they don't have a dark or inverted theme is beyond me.. ugh white..

I ended up having to revert back to 2010 theme. The white background was just killing my eyes. It felt like I was reading a Word or text document.

No i meant like i just like simplicity and i like to see all the threads after another and i thought adblock was for android not PC.
Still Ad's have nothing to do with scrolling for me.

Yea, I ended up purchasing Tapatalk2 when it was only 0.99 a lil while back. So I don't have to deal with the site on mobile devices.
Nope, Adblock started on PC.

That is your choice. As is me blocking adverts on my machine.
If they truly wanted to, they could prevent users from reaching the forums that have ad blocking apps, extensions and host files preventing their revenue sources.
