Mod for changing size of dialer on HD2?? - HD2 General

Hi, I am currently using HD2 with an officall WWE ROM.
As things are working alright to me so far, I have no intention to get into the business of flashing just yet (not until a year of play around with it before i feel bored~! lol)
However I found the built-in dialer of this offical ROM abit too small, causing wrong dialling sometimes. I have aware that there are a few clever guys who worked on diallers with a much user-friendly interface (such as bigger keys for the number pad, idialer to name one), I found that most of them require to install the whole thing replacing the old, therefore losing the original layout from the offical rom (such as the call history + phonebook interface), which i am quite please with.
So I am here to ask, as I aware that the number pad on the offical dialler could be hidden and I though there must be some setting that limiting it to such a small size, is there any mod or registry setting that I could do or change to make the dialling pad/number pad (whichever why you call it) full screen size, while maintaining the ability to hide inside the offical dialling interface?
THX very much!

KikkerDialer- a new dialer available for Magician (Freeware)

Hi all,
We just released a new dialer (freeware) which you can download from Handango. You can download from
http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=152403
Features included in KikkerDialer are:
- The most advanced number dialing system which allows for entry by number panel or keyboard, editing, insertion, copy / paste, etc
- Intuitive and simple UI providing the main functions of a phone such as contacts, dial, access to special characters (e.g. the + sign for international dialing)
- A user interface for selecting contacts which mimicks the most intuitive methods for selecting contacts such as those used within standard mobile phones such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, etc
- Synchronisation with contacts database (mobile, work, home)
- Extremely fast and responsive to use
- Access to the Windows Mobile clipboard for copy / paste
Feedback welcomed. Enjoy.
Kikker Interactive
I'm sorry, but I really don't see what is so special about this software. Maybe I have got it wrong, but I would say that D9 is better than this, and PhonePlus is much better. I don't want to scroll to the letter J every time I want to call my friend John, and so on.
Copy and paste is nice, but where is the T9 contact selection as in D) and PhonePlus, I think that is a great feature.
The fact that this diealer resembles old standard GSM phones is of no interest.
Sorry for only giving bad feedback, but then again, I might haven't found the cool features.
nteresting… just tried this
First comment - good to see another free dialer out there given what shipped with the jam.
ave only tried this for abt 15 minutes but like it very much so far. Is a lot faster than D9 (my only complaint with that software – I have ~ 1,000 contacts in my jam and the UI is v unresponsive). The thing I like with this new dialer too is the editable text field which seems to be missing on most other apps out there. The ability to edit a number before a call (e.g. insert +44 if not already in international prefix), insert a digit when you have entered incorrectly, etc is just what I was after. Would be nice to see call history in there too btw.
Intuitive and simple UI providing the main functions of a phone such as contacts, dial, access to special characters (e.g. the + sign for international dialing) --->Cool...
Crashed on my WWE Qtek S100 .. when I try to call ..

Hi Carlis,
In the first few hours of release, the first installer required you to have OpenNETCF on your device. It seems not so many people have this so we fixed this issue and now you no longer need this on your device.
You should uninstall the KikkerDialer and run the the new installer file (now setup.exe - ~2MB), downloadable from the same location at Handango. Please give this a go and let us know if any probs - [email protected]
Best rgds,

I'm surprised all of you think different than me, but I will give it another try, I guess. I still don't think it can compare with PhonePlus with all the features it has, but then again it's freware.
/T
Cant downlod the Setup.exe, it still downloads the setup.msi, is this the right version? I'm getting the same crash. Can someone post it here?

for me the download link does not work at all. Page cannot be displayed.
Well, I downloaded the MSI-file from handandgo. Now in can run on my T-Mobile MDA Compact but when I try to dial, it crashes:
KikkerDialer.exe
TypeLoadException
Failed to load type OpenNETCF.Notification.Led from OpenNETCF.Notification, Version=1.2.3346.0, Culture-neutral, PublicKey Token= 30C767B29D52D6E6
Can it be fixed? I wanted to test this application concerning tone dial (DTMF sending).

Hi
Thank´s for the answer...
but .. hm .. its not an exe on the same location .. its still the MSI ..
Carlis
ZeroXtreme, 718 & Carlis - Our apologies - we actually meant to the setup.MSI - the file you see up there is the right one (it is not an .exe).
However, seems some of you are still getting a runtime issue on your devices. We suspect this is due to a missing DLL - but cannot replicate your issue right this moment. We've just received some more devices now tho and are retesting. Will post a response here shortly. Feel free to email us directly in the meantime.
Iggy - the handango site must have been having problems. You should try again.
Kikker Interactive
Beta testing - never easy. I'm having enough trouble and bugs beta testing Mobi Dial 2.5 right now, so I'll think I'll pass on this one. Someone let me know when there actually is a legit, ergonomically competent and STABLE replacement dialer out there.
OK thank you all for your patience.
Our new devices arrived and we were able to replicate the issue that some of you were having. This has now been solved with a new version of the setup.msi (now named setup_20050202.msi as Handango doesn't seem to allow overwriting).
You can either download the new app from Handango (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?productId=152403) or we've also hosted it at http://69.20.6.190/KikkerDialer/setup_20050202.msi for your convenience.
If you don't want to go through the process of download + installing the 2MB file again, there is an easier way for those of you who already have the previous version installed. Please follow the steps here:
1. Quit the KikkerDialer
2. Download two dll's http://69.20.6.190/KikkerDialer/OpenNETCF.Notification.dll and http://69.20.6.190/KikkerDialer/OpenNETCF.Phone.dll
3. Copy both files to \Program Files\KikkerDialer on your device (or wherever you installed the dialer)
4. Restart the app
Any problems - please let us know. Again, apologies for the false start for some of you. From those who were not affected however, we had some v positive feedback and to repay all your efforts, will add some more features within the next few weeks
Kikker Interactive
Yes, with the dlls you provided the program starts okay. However, I failed to dial DTMF tones. Sometimes it is necessary to dial extention or enter a PIN-code. Such a pitty!
Exelent .. thx.. it now works on a Swedish WWE Qtek s100 without need of the extra dll´s ..
Only thing that is missing .. DTMF codes .. to use bank transactions and so..
When they ask for my account nr .. and I press the keys.. nothing happends..
And finaly .. how to replace the old dailer hardware keys.. Green and Red phone keys to be using Ur dailer.. it still actiavte the old one..
Best Regards Carlis
Hi - ok glad we got all the installer issues cleared up.
Yep - DTMF tones are not supported currently. As users of the software, here is what we do:
- Make the call using KikkerDialer
- When prompted to enter PIN (etc), press the green call button and the standard windows dialer will appear
- Type in your code using this interface
This works fine against all systems. Obviously not as intuitive. We are however, working on building in DTMF into our next release and have made some progress so far but won't ship till its ready. At the same time, we'll try to address the issue of how to bind KikkerDialer to the green call button.
Keep giving us your feedback in the meantime, v useful.
Best rgds,
Kikker Interactive
Would you manage dialing DTMF tones, you'll be great! But please note that the standard Windows dialer do not work correctly with the DTMF tones. There is something wrong with the duration of the tone, as I suppose. So with that dialer I often reach wrong extention or dial wrong number.
First of all thank you for the freeware.
in spite that, I dont think I would throw phoneplus away yet which serves my every needs.
But it is nice to see some developers trying to give some fight to proffesionals.
Thanks for all your comments. We're still working on getting a v1.0 out there shortly and the latest is good news. From the latest development version of the KikkerDialer, we now have full control of all the JAM buttons such as the direction pad middle button (to select contacts), the green dial button (to open the dialer and make calls), etc. This feature alone allows for complete one handed usage of the dialer (i.e. no stylus).
Now focus remains on adding:
- Call history
- Easier searching on contacts
- DTMF
This last, frequently requested, item is proving to be quite a challenge. We shall persist!

Imaginet FingerClix for WM5 Released

Just wanted to inform fellow members that Imaginet-FingerClix for WM5 is now released.
This is a Phone Dialer / SMS software but the best thing is that it works in Landscape mode also so can therefore be used with the Universal if you keep yours in the laptop mode.
Though if you can live with its slow speed it is excellent for searching through contacts in the T9 fashion, dialing the searched number and sending SMS from the same application. You can also configure it to use the hard keyboard of the Universal instead of the on-screen soft keys.
The keys are also far more visible and larger compared to the generic smart dialer which comes preinstalled. It is a blessing for someone like with me with weak eyesight and who does not want to pull out the glasses each time a number is to be dialed.

idiot mogul user desperately needs your help !!!!!

hello everyone ! I just got my Mogul about 2 days ago and im a freakin mess on trying to figure out how to use it. here are things i need your help with....
#1 how do i transfer my contacts onto my PC? I installed the program it came with but i cant figure out how to copy my contacts to my PC.
#2 I tried to upgrade my rom(i dont even know what rom is,lol) and before i updated the rom it read ROM VERSION 2.09.651.3 AND THE ROM DATE WAS 6/14/07. after the update was complete it still read the same thing !! And the mogul appeared to be slower, screens wouldnt open fast or shut down fast etc etc. (which rom should I use??)
#3 THE CUBE, I was checking out the cube for my mogul but i wasnt sure what the benifet was of useing this program...its looks a lot for user friendly and cooler then what the mogul has now....(how do I install the cube into my Mogul?)
#4 lastly, when my phone shuts off i have to push the power button to wake it up everytime...is there any way i can just touch the screen or push a face button to turn it back on?
any help would be awsome
stacy
anyone????????
I'd suggest you visit ppcgeeks.com titan forum. Many more titan users over there and there are several custom roms available.
As far as answering your questions....
1. Not sure, i don't use activesycn for anything other than transferring programs to by phone to install.
2. I've posted a few custom roms on the ppcgeeks ftp and have had numerous compliments. My most current rom is UTCG.2.2.2 and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with it. I don't add in all the extra "crap" some one people do. I use a stable base rom and update some of the features as well as tweak it for performance. My most current ROM runs with ~28mb free ram and is very quick. EDIT: I will post link here shortly.
I'm assuming that you're new to the whole "flashing" thing so I'm uploading a complete file with the rom and flashing software in it right now. I'll update this thread with the direct link to download once it's done.
3. The real cube is not functional on the mogul. There are many hybrid cubes that other members have made. Some are Adobe Flash-Based programs and others are stand-alone programs. I like the idea of the Cube when i got my mogul just like you. But, after messing with it so much and realizing the amount of resources it uses I personally don't think it's worth it. It's just another "gimmick" to compete with the iPhone.
4. I'm not sure why you would want it to "wake-up" by tapping the screen but if this is a necessity than here's how to do it.
Tap "Start" on your mogul.
Tap "Settings"
Tap "System" Tab on the bottom
Tap the "Power" icon
Tap the "Advanced" Tab on the bottom
uncheck the box "On Battery Power: Turn off device if not used for ____"
That will keep the mogul from turning off. BUT, it will also kill your battery really quickly. Personally, i slide by mogul in and out of my pocket all day that it would be a problem if i had it activated by the screen.

I would highly recommend reading the Flashing Basic Guide over at PPCgeeks http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=9927 before attempting any of this.
There are a selection of ROMs available for different needs/tastes, and you'll also need to unlock your phone first (its all in the guide).
But, all this is only necessary if you'd like a customized ROM instead of the stock Sprint release. Most people feel that the custom ROMs perform better, but to be honest, if you don't know what a ROM is or why you want it custom, I'd just leave things as they are. As long as everything works for you, just leave well enough alone.
Now as far as your questions:
1) This is a basic PPC question and not Mogul specific. You need 2 programs installed to do this: Outlook to view/access/edit your personal information (comes on the disc) and Activesync to talk to your device and actually make sure to keep all info in sync (also comes on disc).
Each program will work without the other, but it won't sync your info unless both of them are installed and the device is plugged in.
2) The Sprint releases have bugs. There was an updated ROM (2.16) that caused more problems than it fixed, so they pulled it. Now we're back to 2.09, so that's why nothing changed. There are custom roms that combine the best "fixed bits" of all the releases so far, but don't do these unless you feel comfortable messing with it for now.
3) Cube is a fancy interface designed for the HTC Touch phone. Its supposed to make easy shortcuts for one-fingered use, and has some nifty scrolling 3D effect that they call a "cube" (even tho it has only 3 sides. I guess calling it the "extruded triangle" wouldn't have gone over as well). But, it only works on the touch, so some folks have tried to mimick it by writing their own application that looks just like it. Most of them don't work, or are too slow to be useable, only the real one on the actual device called the "touch" seems to be any good. Its still cute to show off. Not all that functional on the mogul, and I've tried many versions.
4) YES! There's a setting somewhere to wake up on power key only, or for any keypress. The screen touch thing would set it off WAAAY too easily and kill your battery as utexas said. I feel the same way about all the buttons since there are so many that accidentally get pressed when taking it and out of holsters. However, the options is there if you want it.
Good luck!
Your awsome !! could i ask you one more thing? when i want to make a phone call and i go to my contacts list all of my friends names are backwards...meaning that their last name is showin first and this is annoying because i not showing up as it used to in my old filp phone...should i download some sort of firmware to change my contact ist set up??

[PRJ]Raphael & Diamond, Japanese Input and SoftBank MMS CABs

THIS THREAD WILL NOT BE UPDATED ANYMORE, FOR NEWS CHECK HERE
1. Displaying Japanese text
2. Japanese Advanced IME
3. SoftBank MMS
Fantastic job.I try it at once.
Oh wow... This is awesome stuff... Do you mean i can put the Softbank IME on my WWE ROM? I am just uninstalling my other Japanese enabling software so i can try it out right now (Even though its 2:30am and i have to work tomorrow...)
Perfect!
I now have my ultimate phone!
Ok well maybe if the battery would last a full day, but i am willing to accept that because now i have a proper Japanese input and access to Kaomoji
THANKYOU!
Edit: at 3am its hard to think straight and easy to get excited Any way to fix up the fact that the compact qwerty no longer works (only enters numerics, no alphabet), and proper T9 using the phonepad SIP? I assume thats the result of installing LetsJapan?
Also, are Emoji removed intentionally, or disabled for some reason?
Still very grateful by the way!
Please see the flinx1 thread for Japanese input for more information about the T9 bug:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445550
It has to do with how LetsJapan sets all keyboards to 411 (Japanese), while T9 requires 409 (English) to work properly. You can revert the registry settings to 409+411 (see thread above), but you need to use the Ctrl+Shift shortcut to switch between keyboards (similar to Alt+Shift on Windows).
Emoji will require a special font, or HTML rendering provided by S!Mail. Are you perhaps referring to kaomoji? If so, kaomoji requires dictionaries to be updated/installed. Those will depend on what IME you're using: standard MS IME (LetsJapan), ATOK, WNN, or FSKAREN. I'm not sure which the Softbank SIP uses (usually ATOK or WNN), but only MS IME is free to distribute; the rest are commercial products and it would not be okay to redistribute them.
The files above included the kaomoji so thats pretty cool, but the emoji (bitmap smileys) are not enabled. But i am pretty sure you are correct about it requiring HTML rendering or something like that... Probably if the SB MMS cab was installed it could be used, but then i couldnt use MMS here in Australia anymore.
Edit: Tried some of the registry suggestions in that thread (not that any of them were very clearly described), and nothing enables the T9/Compact qwerty keyboard again. As an FYI, prior to installing this IME, i was using flinkx1's cabs; installed directly without any other changes, and i had the same problem. I then uninstalled everything before trying this solution
Hate to sound like a noob (ok well i am), but is there any way to keep the original Touch T9 + Compact Qwerty functionality as well as the Keytouch SIP?
Yeah; Japanese phones use a basic HTML renderer to display emoji in their MMS (with the emoji images cached on the phone). The previous solution was to use MMSLite which used a special dingbats font and (afaik) would parse the HTML in the MMS and return text that used the dingbats. Crude but effective, although the emoji font was of course only black&white.
S!Mail should provide proper image-based emoji, but you may be right that it might not work with existing MMS services. Then again, it's possible S!Mail simply runs as a separate program/process and does not change existing MMS settings. But I have no firsthand experience so hopefully someone else can provide more information.
Getting T9+JPIME to work together is going to be difficult and will probably be different from person to person, because not everyone will be using the same kinds of SIPs and the registry settings might differ. However, I looked at the Keytouch CAB and there are a couple keys that are overwriting other settings that might cause T9 to become disabled:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip
DefaultIm = {9BBD6249-34B4-4cfe-934A-1F0607FB1D5C} sets Keytouch as default SIP
Use {62B00599-25D2-4e09-8C48-03BF26DB8517} for Compact QWERTY
HKCU\keyboard layout\Preload
@ = e0010411 sets JP as the default input method
Use e0010409 for English/T9; You may also need to change or switch the settings in Preload\1 and Preload\2 accordingly.
There are also some settings in HKLM, although I think changing them will cause Keytouch to not work. Of course, it's also possible that using Keytouch will disable T9 regardless of the settings, so there's no way to know for sure if T9+JPIME is possible until people do some further testing.
I thought I had responded already... Anyway, I do know that on the Softbank 705NK (AKA Nokia N73), S!Mail is implemented as regular MMS. Emoji are displayed as part of the font, and it is possible to enable Emoji in all areas of the phone with a bit of a tweak. My 705NK was sim-unlocked, and I was able to use MMS here in Australia just by setting the MMS server details
So I suspect the X04HT S!Mail client can also be used here; but only if you have access to the server settings
Now, I tried setting the region coding settings, but as expected, this broke the TouchKey SIP (well the SIP worked, but it couldn’t insert the Japanese characters into the message). Now I have another idea... If I install TouchPal SIP will that work together with TouchKey? I hear that TouchPal is supposed to be an amazingly good input system anyway...
Edit: This seems to be the solution. Touchpal works fine with Japanese region settings, and its arguably a better keyboard anyway...

The problem with the flinx1 package is that while it works for displaying Japanese it does not always work with getting the IME installed correctly. I tend to change roms almost daily but I keep my flinx pack in my nand memory so I can just reinstall at a whim.
Problem is, you can't use the flinx package with the default qwerty input from HTC. You must install a separate IME. I have been using spb keyboard as it has a quick switch to Japanese. But for some reason, as of late, I have been unable to get Japanese input working with spb keyboard without going in to the full screen keyboard option. Of course zgembo's isn't offering IME with the qwerty input but it is offering a reliable input method; something I have been without for far too long.
When I finish at work, I will give zgembo's a shot. Looks like big shoes to fill. I also need to get my Softbank MMS working. I have set up a gmail account with smtp but it's a pain when you mail to phones and they are set up to block internet mail. I would love to go back to my @softbank.ne.jp account.
@zgembo
I am staying tuned, bud. I have set up my mail correctly before by following an fc2 blog but I noticed that after a few messages or if the message has emoji or an attachment, I get the evil "unable to decode header" error. What app will you base the work on? MMS Lite, arcsoft, other, self created?
hate to nitpick
if possible, would you be able to edit your first post and change X04HT and X05HT to 'X05HT and X04HT'? Just so that it's parallel with the line before it (Raphael and Diamond phones).
Kev, do you have the SB ROM on your TD? Do you have access to the MMS settings like on the WWE versions (Servers etc?)
The IME put up by ZGembo is awesome. I am already typing Japanese quicker than i was on my 705NK, and Kaomoji is a nice bonus. English is a bit more difficult than a normal Phonepad input system, but its *exactly* the same as normal Japanese keitai's with the benefit of word prediction (the bit that is the same is that each letter doesnt 'time out' so if you want to type "back" you press 2 twice, then right d-pad or a long press of the 'キャッチ' button to move on so you can press 2 once for 'a' and then again so you can press it 3 times for 'c').

Dom,
I currently have ITJE's TouchIT on my Diamond. It's a really nice rom. I got S!Mail working on WWE before but it was such a hassle I gave up. I just got home now and am in the process of uninstalling what's on my device now and uploading both of zgembo's files to rapidshare. I will PM it to zgembo and it will be up to him/her to post it.
I want to give the gesture entry a try for JP input. Can you use the same SIP for both IMEs?
I noticed that the letsjapan screws up the date in TF3D on the home screen (top left). I assume this is because the WWE rom lacks the japanese TF3D files. If you change your region to English (USA; or other English) your date will be fixed and magically the JP input still works great with prediction.
Zgembo, all your work finally paid off! Nice job!

2. Japanese Advanced IME
This is a new thing. It enables word prediction input in both English and Japanese, and unlike traditional WM5 & WM6 Japanese IME engines, SoftBank introduced this third party IME (Omron mobile wnn v2?) and integrated into its newer ROMs. After installation, KeyTouch IME will become default. It only works in portrait mode, and in the case of landscape mode, IME will change to classic romaji or kana input. Kensaku and Tegaki IMEs are included. Also, settings for Japanese keyboard layout are in this CAB, so if you are using some different layout, you are on your own (there are plenty of posts around which explain how to change this). This CAB is only for VGA (480x640) devices (Planning to make QVGA version too, stay tuned)

Doesn't this violate their copyright? it's not supposed to redistribute itself nor is a default Japanese IME for Windows Mobile from Microsoft. but Softbank just paid money to Omron to ship it in their product. it's a kind of a proprietary software.

Nice job!

Messes up how? (screenshot?)
All the WWE ROMs I've used come with MUIs for all languages (including Japanese). My guess is that LetsJapan is modifying the LCIDs (HKLM\nls) so that any non-ANSI Japanese programs can default to the corresponding codepage. TF3D will change accordingly, usually to 2009年02月18日 format (but that isn't exactly "screwed up"). You can of course customize regional settings (Settings > System > Regional > Date), and switch to English/西暦(英語) in order to change date localization back to English (for TF3D and other apps) while still keeping the device on the Japanese LCID/codepage.
Of course, I certainly haven't used every ROM so it's possible some chefs have removed all non-English TF3D MUIs, but you can't really blame that on LetsJapan.

Well, let's see. Flinx's pack doesnt do anything to the date display on the home tab of TF3D whereas every version of Lets I have tried, does. Flinx released a compatibility patch that is optional for his pack; once installed, it does the same thing to the date.
The thing that was happening to my date is like this:
Instead of saying: Feb 18, 2009, it would just change to 2 18, 2009. Again, this was easily fixed by going back to the English USA region. I did not claim that letsjapan screwed up anything that wasn't easily fixable by touching the screen a few times in the right places, nor was my remark about "nice job" in any kind of sarcastic tone. I wouldn't say I was placing blame anywhere.
As for the date thing... it's happened to me in every single WWE rom that I have tried installing LetsJapan on to. Again, this is fixed by changing the region or by installing TF3D tweak and setting the TF3D to japanese language altogether.
I have part 1 and 2 of zgembo's first post installed and all I can say is... fantastic.
The LCID keys that are included in the LetsJapan packs and in the optional flinx1 compatability patch are what cause TF3D (and any other app that relies on Regional Settings) to change the date format. It's a side effect, to be sure, and it will happen with all WWE roms, but it's not because LetsJapan (or the patch) are specifically affecting TF3D, nor is it because TF3D is missing 0411 MUIs.
I guess it's a choice of words; when you originally said "screws up the date in TF3D", I had imagined the date was somehow corrupted or illegible, and not simply a format change according to the LCIDs (which is normal).
At any rate it's amazing that WM, any windows for any system, is where it is now (just about 6.5) and IME is still such a pain in the ass. Why can't an OS just support this stuff without having to tweak so many little nooks and crannies. I just love the way the SIP that comes with our diamonds is simply incompatible with more than one IME.
Hi, I am new to all these stuff...
Is it possible to do with HTC S740 notouch model?
HTC: http://www.htc.com/europe/product/s740/overview.html
I wan enable Japanese read/write both Land/Potrait mode and how to turn on and off IME?
And also Softbank SMS/MMS
if some one can provide me the steps since I am newbei...
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
does anyone can help for my x05ht (Japanese keyboard)
Hi there.
I'm using x05ht which I bought cell phone in Japan.
so my x05ht keyborad layout is difficult to US Model.
and I was trying to search how to fix it in this forum.
then I found this thread.
I'm using EnergyRom1.6 Latest. then I tried to install
some software following step.
1.install the Rom
2.LetsJapanWM61r07.cab
3.KeyTouchJapIMEr07.cab
then I can type Japanese, and read Japanese.
But keyborad still doesn't work well.
which part should I edit (about reg or something relavent part.)?
I'm not sure, but when I using At0mAng Rom it works fine about keyborad.
especially now, function and some buttom isn't work.
when I push the fn button, then running calender. I also tried search any
thread about this problem. but usually I can't find the way to fix completely.
Best regards.
I was reading today about the MMS settings and it seems there are some registry hacks needed as well as a neat little browser called wasabi for enabling the yahoo keitai page.
Attached is said browser. Please note I am not the creator of this software and I found it at this link: url. I have not, as of yet, tried it either, so don't blame me if it doesn't work as I currently know only what I have skimmed on the above link.

Edit phone number before calling

Hello folks,
is it somehow possible to edit a number from call history (or maybe even a contact) before calling / dialling (eg. change the suffix) with HTC HD2 (or Windows mobile in general)???
Even my stoneage Nokias could do this... Very helpful feature if trying to call different numbers (suffixes) in one company or after mistyping a number and noticing it after hitting the "Call" button (you could then take the number from history and correct the typo instead of re-entering the whole number).
I found no way with my top notch HD2 to perform this simple task. Any tricks at hand? Any (simple, probably free) apps that may help?
(Is there anyone at all who shares my need? )
Thanks for your help!
surprisingly enough, and ridiculously enough, as far as I've tried until now, that's not possible, unless you keep the number in your head and type it in the dialer, or copy/paste the original number inside a fake contact, and edit it there in order to call that contact later.
Nothing even by far anything similar to copy/paste is possible in the dialer, not even with quickmenu
Thanks ephestione for your sympathy, pity that there seems to be no solution!
Creating a dummy contact would be a kind of workaround but no simplification. Re-entering the number would then be quicker and less complicated.
Another strange flaw of the "Phone dialer screen" I just noticed is that you can not even really edit the number you just typed in at any position (by placing a cursor). You really have to backspace-delete the whole number until the typo and re-enter it from that position on! How "smart" is that?
(For my not-so-smart old SE k800i this was one of the easiest tasks and I never expected this to be a problem...)
Certainly this problem is caused by the different concepts of "touch" or "keypad" interfaces. With a keypad selecting an item (eg. a number in a list) and then doing something with it (eg. dial or select a "use number functionality" via menu) are separate things, while in touch interfaces selecting and executing often (mostly) is one.
But in many situations this is inappropriate at least. The distinction between a single tap to select and a double-tap to execute (like known from the mouse) seems to be the better approach when there are several different things you might want to do with an Item (like here)!
Anyway, is there no one else missing a "edit number before redial/dial contact" functionality?
Anyone else with a solution (app or easy workaround) at hand?
If there is a certain demand I would even try to write my own app! Unfortunately I have absolutely no experience in programming for WinMo and accessing functions there...
Could someone suggest a good introduction to WinMo-Programming? (Or maybe anyone of the experienced developers here is keen on doing the coding? )
My idea:
App functionality:
Possibility to edit phone number selected (tapped) from call history before redialling starts
Possibility to edit phone number selected (tapped) from contact before dialling starts
App features:
Suppress dialling after selecting (single tap) a number from call history or contact (or anywhere else), instead paste the number to the "number field/row" in the "Phone dialer screen". The number could then be edited using the "backspace method".
A number could then be dialled as usual by double-tapping the number. (Tap/double-tap functionality may be switched)
>>> At least great for suffix editing. Looks quite easy to code to my unexpirienced eye...
On the "Details" tab for a contact (or a number from history) provide a button to the right of every "Call ..." entry (just like the "select number" button for the "send message" entry) with a "use number functionality" wich just pastes the number to the "number field/row".
>>> Surely needs accessing HTC Sense. Looks challenging.
Maybe also provide such a button in call (history) lists...
>>> There already are two buttons in these lists...
Make "number field/row" fully editable by providing a freely placeable cursor.
>>> No idea how to do this. May need accessing HTC Sense? Looks very complicated.
Feedback welcome!
It is simply SICK that this functionality does not exist by default. No wonder the head of win mo just got sacked! /P
I desperately need this editing function as I travel overseas a lot and ther are a lot of IP dialing facilities where one just has to enter a specific number before the main phone number, eg if in Singapore and using M1 sim card one just has to dial 021 + country code + tel number. (021 is not an international dialing code, its just a cheaper way to make international calls)
I was able to do this in my 10 year old phone but ever since I've moved to WiMo such a basic feature is missing.
I am missing it also very much!!! Tried to use the note function but it did not work ... It would be really great if someone might be able to provide a cap-file to improve this great mistake of wm!! Or anything else - any ideas are appreciated!!!

The only thing I can think of, is a phone suite software from Inesoft.
http://www.inesoft.com/eng/index.php?in=phone.html
New version 6 has been released with updates.
I have attached some info in their user manual.
Apparently, it seems they have addressed this issue.
I have read a number of forums and people with HD2, liked this software.
Hope this helps.
ps. I haven't tried it, as I hadn't had a need. But I think I will give it a go, as my needs for international dialing are picking up. I have SPB phone suite, and it is almost useless.......so give that phone suite a miss. I also had phone alarm and it won't solve the problem either.
Oh, and I forgot their was PhonEx. Ver2.2 is the current one.
http://www.iconsoft.com/?language=en&menu=62e094db10fc83b1
They also have a feature to edit and add, special format numbers, which can be used when dialing intl numbers etc....
I have attached their info as well.
You would have to do some research and see which one would suit your needs better, and your device, between PhonEx and Inesoft.
Good luck.
Edit: I think between the two, PhonEx has a better dialer.............Just my two cents.......but check it out for yourselves.
just had a quick play with this, with the aim of taking a number from call history, editing it and dialing the edited number.
here's how.
from phone screen, choose number in the list by tapping the icon on the right, which calls up the history sub tab for just that number, (or the details page if it's a known contact), slide to the messaging sub tab and press the hardware send key, this loads the number into the dial screen, but doesn't dial it. now choose menu, save to notes, edit the number, select it, press and hold, choose copy, jump back to phone screen, hit menu and paste is now an option.
voila, new number just waiting for you to hit dial.

the whole procedure sounds like the neverending story, as it would require more time than to memorize the new number and type it in
Anyway, what I have to thank you for, is pointing me to the fact that there is indeed a "Paste" item in the menu! I don't know how I overlooked that
So well, regarding my need, which is not actually editing the number before dialing but rather copy the number off a calendar entry, you just saved my day thank you
heh, glad it helped, and as usual, teh explanation takes 10 x longer to read than the process takes to do, its a 10 second thing once you know it. The downside is you end up with a pile of notes you dont want.
Not quite as simple as I would have liked but as long as it got the job done, it'd be fine. Except.... Arrrgh!
Everything is OK up until the number is displayed in the dialler. I then hit the Menu softbutton and select 'Save to Notes'.
This opens up a note, BUT (and its a big but!) the number is not pasted into the note.
If I then select Menu from Notes, the Paste opton is greyed out. If not then it just pastes the last thing I copied, which is not the number!
Help!
well it used to work! mine doesn't now either, i recently started using parts from the 3.14 rom, something must have changed.
what rom you on?
Whoops! Appologies for the late reply.
I'm on ROM ver 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE
OS ver 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manilla ver 2.5.19211619.0
Hope this helps.
Edit before dialing...
Good news!
This software can help....
I started using this from Windows Mobile 6.0, then 6.1 and now 6.5.
I am using it in HTC HD2 before and after new Rom 3.14.
It works perfectly. However, you need to use traditional microsoft contact screen. You need to switch from HTC sense contact to traditional microsoft contact. It is very easy. You can also preset some prefix codes as shortcut.
Good Luck!
The software LoneTear PhoneHelper 1.2-Edit Before Call or SMS
This is quite old software but it works perfectly in HTC HD2 running WinMo 6.5.
