By far my favourite wallpaper yet.

Doesn't seem to affect battery performance much (I've had it running for a few days and everything seems normal) but it looks beautiful and is nicely customisable.
Here are my settings:

Very cool wallpaper!
Thanx
Wasn't impressed at first, but after using your settings it's awesome.
Thanks!
I know what you mean, I spent a good 20 mins till I was satisfied but now I love it. Was only worried about battery usage but it hardly makes a dent.
At first I didn't like it, but after reading your message here i tried again, and now love it too
I'm using these settings:

hope the battery consumption is just like using a dark wallpaper. but i guess it uses a lil more.
good live wallpaper though after fiddling with it
It does indeed look good, but with only 2 lines made my other widgets go a bit unresponsive and was quite heavy on battery life...
nice, i like it - great find

strange, I've had no problems.. it doesn't even show up on the battery monitor
With them settings, I love it!

Don't know, I've made some tests and it's indeed causing lots of slowdowns especially for graphical widgets like the photo album. Maybe the battery gets drained by those widgets that are stuttering...
I don't know about battery but i've definately noticed a slow down when swiping between the different screens, it sometimes gets kinda stuck, not terrible but slightly anoying.
I loaded it up and fiddled around in the settings for a min....set wallpaper and WOW!!!!! its amazing....beautiful...
thanx man for such a lovely wally.
Gave it another try but really makes my htc photo album widget really slow or even almost stuck, as well as other stuff...
It did look nice though

hi guys....i just wanted to tell you a secret of mine...
it seems that digital clock saves battery faaaar better than the analog one (not one...several which i tested...all default)...or it just seems to me like that
Makes sense...Analog clocks have a constant movement, digital moves once a minute.
I dont use any so i cant talk about it by experience...to be honest i dont understand why ppl use them...when i turn the pda on i have a big clock in lockscreen and in almost every application i have the top clock, not very big,but although i use glasses im not that blind.
Why the hell would i want another big ass clock, when im always in the same timezone!?
I guess is a visual thing for most...its a question of taste.
i liked them, but as they are not effective and drain battery....i gave up in them
but i recalled that we have the android's clock too...
and started testing it...it's great and looks neat....and even better battery life i believe
i will provide a screenshot when i get to
I've got a decent firmware and its rooted and lag fixed (nearly 2300 on quadrant), but even so it's still not perfect. However, I have noticed that turning off the animations genuinely seems to make the phone fly, I know some of it is just because it takes less time for a screen to just appear than when it has to play an animation, but I actually think it's more than that. Things like adding widgets is now a LOT faster.
Also, live wallpaper, however simple it is, has a noticable (negative) impact on overall performance.
By changing to a static wallpaper and no animation, the phone is now extremely fast at all times.
You still get some animations on launcher pro, so its not totally bland!
Probably stating the obvious really, but it's something that seems to work well for me. I dont really miss the animations particularly, especially as it wasn't always smooth anyway.
i have to agree about the widget thing but i will have to spend some more time before i can comment on the overall performance.
i'd trade pretty fun animation for some performance hit
but that's just me
This allows you to adjust the RGB Screen Colors. Check it out. Works on my EVO:

What are your settings?
I only got Force Closes when trying it out...
This has been around forever, I also got Fc's trying to use it.
I have CM6 RC 2, works fine
just was wondering the setting people with EVO's are changing them to
This is built in Cyanogen Mod too.
Settings/user interface/render effect.
Can also be applied as a widget.
It helps a good bit, if you compare non-calibrated and calibrated, without calibration the colors look too washed out and not as dark and deep.

i want dark and deep, what are the settings to get it like that?
Well, this adjusts RBG but it doesn't adjust contrast for blacker blacks or color saturation. Basically what it will do is make your colors either warmer or cooler. Just play with it till you find one you like. If you want a more 3d effect, choose wallpapers in soft focus (or do it yourself using Photoshop) and icons will appear to "float" above the background.

That **** sure says a lot....
Sorry, I had to. lol. Neat app!
thats pretty cool
I just tried the built in app in CM6.1 and it really gives my EVO a different look. Im using the N1 Low setting.
I find just N1 Calibrated (not cool or red) works best. It really does make a good bit of difference too, try watching a video with it off and it on. The colors feel a bit richer and more natural with the calibration.
I couldn't go back to keeping the default settings anymore
I agree that N1 is best on my EVO. Seems to make the blacks blacker which always makes the screen appear to "pop" more.
However, these are pre-settings. Wit the tweak I mentioned in the OP it is completely customizable. Anyway, whatever works for you.
Posted this in the other thread, but does anyone else get a green hue when scrolling (it's easiest to see in something like the "settings" menu when you scroll).
Any idea if this is correctable?
so last week I looked up dark levels on google image and found an epic one. used it last 3 days and increased my battery life by almost 2 hours.
use this shortened url or the qr i attached.
http://goo.gl/YRdDG
it looks great too. i really enjoy just how dark this is and i seriously think no light is being used when you have it exposed
cheers
I always used a pure black image I made with a paint program as my wallpaper on my Nexus One and my Galaxy S phones to save juice.
The battery life on the Nexus S is so phenomenal that I've actually been using live 3D wallpapers (like an aquarium) and similar without concern. I can easily make it through an 18 hour day on the NS without having to resort to a black wallpaper.
Still, I love the way a pure black background looks on the pure black Nexus S; I may go back to it just for the aesthetics.
Good tip, though!
I've been using all black every where possible for months, It really helps battery life.
Cyanogen web browser has a very useful all black option to turn all white pages to black.
Here is mine
Pure black created using Windows 7 Paint.
Good idea. Trying it to see hour much juice it saves.

Yep it looks business like
i always try to keep most of my themes black
but is boring when every thing is always black
so it's okay to have some highlights here and there ... at the expense of extra battery usage

I agree and with the beautiful screen on the NS, why not give it a little life
I hope battery technology will one day improve to the point where we don't have to help the phone save juice. It always bothers me there are these features which we can't fully take advantage of or have to turn off and moderate to get a phone through the day.
Having said that, my NS does quite well with battery, and I have WP Clock live wallpaper running.
Is there a good place to get black themed gmail, gvoice, reader, calendar, etc. to look like contacts?
Personally I think colorful backgrounds are kinda girly. Meet to see once. But I prefer the lookof the solid black. And I believe it shows our screens abilities perfectly and make the apps pop better that a cheesy background...

I know it's kind of cheesy but I really like the Matrix Live Wallpaper for that reason. It shows off the pure black and then you have the coloured characters falling all over the screen, it looks amazing on the SAMOLED.
+1 I love the super blacks of amoled.
Plus easy on the eyes and battery. What's not to love?
Solar Winds LWP, mostly back, but with flashes of colour.
Best of both worlds
Yes there's black themed MMS.apk and Gmail.apk in the apps/themes forum. Need root access to swap them though.

Ok, here is my list of apps and widgets that I use because of its level of blackness
- simiClock widget (replaced Beautiful widget)
- Jorte for Google calendar client (it has black theme)
- Pure Calendar Widget with a black theme
- Default google email client (it has black list, but not when reading email)
- Go SMS (terrific! it has dark theme plus we can change the background color)
I know, there are "specially modified" apps out there, but you need to root your device.
For non-rooted user like me, these apps are suitable to have some blackness.
Please share if you find other alternatives, especially email client

Seeing some of the review videos on lollipop, including the Nexus 6 review, EVERYTHING is white on lollipop! The notification drop down, the background for all settings, and even the app drawer!
http://link.tapatalk.com/api/click?...rs.com&subid=cfcd208495d565ef66e7dff9f98764da
Besides being ugly as sin, that's going to be a significant drain on the battery! With the nexus 6 using an amoled display, why would they implement something so counterintuitive? One of the beauties of the moto x is how all the menus, app drawer etc look so elegant in black. On top of saving display energy usage.
I've searched everywhere looking to see if the theme would be customizable and there's nothing to suggest so. Comments?
I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think anyone spends a big amount of time in the notification area, drawer, or in the settings

There is an xposed module to convert white holo to dark, and probably it will convert white material to dark. On LCD white looks better but on AMOLED I prefer dark too
Afaik there will be dark theme for amoled.
I don't know where I read it but I read it somewhere. A few weeks ago.

Well it doesn't take an engineer to know a light background that requires an amoled screen to display uses more energy than a dark one where the pixels shut off. But that's that I suppose..
I'm running the latest preview on my N5. Yeah, it's white. Battery life? Much improved. Surprisingly so. I've no doubt the improvement in battery life will carry over to the X. I know there isn't a whole lot of room for improvement in performance on the X but it has made a startlingly difference on my N5. Sucks your not a fan of the design but for those of us that like it, it's an amazing upgrade. One I can't wait to experience on my X.
Edit: I understand your concern that the difference in display technologies will make the improvement in battery life mute but I can't imagine white backgrounds making that big a difference.

Well my real issue with it is its ugly as sin. Makes the os look like a 90's windows based system with the white behind the app drawer. Whites look terrible on amoled, blacms look so clean and elegant. Oh well...

I'm not. Do I spend two hours or more in the notification shade at one time? no. do i spend 2 hours or more just in the settings? no. do i spend 2 hours or more on the google launcher app drawer? no. people need to relax, it won't be THAT bad. i am sure many of us are in apps that are light in color
edit: there are other factors that decrease battery life. i doubt you're constantly on a white screen for long periods of time. even with it being white, i am still sure amoled consumes less than lcd

i am all for opinions, but the OS being white shouldn't "freak" everyone out if you have AMOLED screens. i interpreted your first post wrong and thought you were very upset to the point where you'll rage , hence why i said some need to relax a bit. i still stand by my opinion that i don't think battery is going to go down the drain. remember Project Volta, maybe that'll help a bit too. good discussion :good:

The battery aspect is secondary to me. It just seems counter intuitive to make a nexus device with an amoled screen and widdle down one of the big benefits of it.
My main concern is IMO its ugly as all hell. Material design looks fantastic. But the white folder type backgrounds reallyblook out of place and dated. Of course others may love it. I just hope/wish they give an option for a dark theme..

i am on the fence with it. i agree, white isn't a good color, but idk if black would be a matching color for the home screen. heck, why doesn't Google just allow us to change the background app drawer page to whatever color we want. problem solved . looks like i will just have to endure the white (at least it isn't completely hideous lol)
Material Design is gorgeous. My eyes will be happy once devs get on top of that, not just Google

Exactly. I think by this iteration of android we should be able to have a color theme choice. Or an inversion mode to black out whites.
