I take no credit for this it was up android forums this morning there is still some question marks about it one b/c it has desire in it and also when you go to the site its not trusted by most browsers.. I have not tried to install it myself..
Also I dont know if it is the right area for this so if a admin needs to move it somewhere feel free please..
since the link for some reason is whacky when i paste it heres the link to the orignal post in android forums
http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/78414-2-1-ota-link.html
NO I havent installed, No I probably wont install it, NO I couldnt tell you how to install.. Just trying to pass some usefull stuff on to others..
It has desire in it because that was the codename for our device a while ago.
If the downloaded PB00IMG.zip passes the hash test during the flash it's the actual OTA. At this point (and probably never will there be) there is no way for us to create a signed rom, so I imagine this is the actual OTA.
77mb? This isnt a complete rom, wth is this
It's an update only rom. Please check android forums for info and instructions.

Don't know but it's not showing up as a valid ROM on my device with 2.1leak v3. It fails the check without throwing up an error notice of any kind. It just goes to the HBOOT menu after checking the zip file.
It needs to be named update.zip and it does not work on leak v3. The instructions are posted at android forums, but I cannot post links.
Disclaimer - Try this at your own risk. I'm not liable if you brick your phone. I didn't really know what I was doing, and probably shouldn't have tried it on my eris because I sold it on ebay a few days ago and i'm waiting for the buyer to pay me for it.. lol! This is a simliar process for installing updates on the Moto Droid.
NOTE: I DIDN'T LOSE ANY DATA AFTER THE UPGRADE!!
Okay, this is all coming from 1.5.
First, download this OTA file:
"removed"
I named mine update.zip and put it on the SD card.
DO NOT name it PB00IMG.zip as it will try to load in the next step.
Turn off the phone, hold down VOL DOWN and POWER, just like you normally would to install a leak.
It will search for the files like PB00IMG.zip, etc..etc..
Scroll down to RECOVERY and press the POWER button. The phone will reboot with an exclamation point.
Press the POWER button and VOLUME UP at the same time, and you should be presented with a menu. One of the options should be "Apply sdcard:update.zip". Choose that one.
It will start the installation process.
I got a little worried because it started deleting files and stayed in one spot for what seemed like 10 minutes, (probably 4 in reality), but it eventually finished.
When it's done, choose the reboot option and let it do its thing. It will take a few minutes to boot up initially.
Well, here are the instructions with pics...
http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/78440-installing-leaked-ota-2-1-file.html
But people on v3 leak are having issues... im sorry, but for some reason I find that funny. However v3 leak cannot be much different than OTA... not sure why they are so paranoid.
It sounds to me like some of the other version leaks aren't working either, along with 1.5 people who have a different hboot number.
Check out the update script.. Is it only looking for a certain version of 1.5.
assert compatible_with("0.2") == "true"
assert file_contains("SYSTEM:build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/htc_desirec/desirec/desirec:1.5/CUPCAKE/104882:user/release-keys") == "true" || file_contains("SYSTEM:build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/htc_desirec/desirec/desirec:2.1/ERD79/165907:user/release-keys") == "true"

it doesnt work. Atleast for leakers.
So..how long until you rewrite that code jcase?
This is a double black eye...leakers can't root and now can't update to the OTA, damn we suck
I'm sure it won't be long until this thing gets booted up for leakers.
Thanks guys!
I didn't know much about cell phones before getting my eris, but I'm deeply saddened now that I can't root on leak 3, if my dialer lag is still there along with the 50% without a signal, I may try to return my phone for a 1.5
For some reason, my wifes 1.5 phone won't enter the recovery menu... She currently has ver 1.5. Don't know what's up with that.
From what I have read, but I cannot verify this, v3 leak is the OTA that is being pushed right now. Again, I have not verified this but read/heard this from many trusted sources. AKA not n00bs. But I could be wrong.
Never mind the last post. I hit the home button followed by the power button. OTA is installing as we speak. Hope it works, if not the wife is gonna be ticked!
i thought as soon as this thing went public someone was gonna have it. Did everyone install the leak, and now they cant get the real update now lol lmao.
Well, the update is done. I'm wondering though.. I compared the software versions of my v3 leaked phone with the leaked ota I just installed on the wifes, and everything is the same accept the PRL version. The OTA is 51803 and leak ver 3 is 51866. Looks like us leakers may be screwed.
So does anyone have the version number or build number so we can compare to see if its the same as leak v3
The version and kernel numbers are the same.

Hey guys, I'm running Froyo OTA on my DX and I was wondering if someone could help me speed this bad boy up a bit. I want to overclock just a little so my PSX Emulator will run a bit smoother. I am fairly new to the Android community and do not have much knowledge when it comes to this stuff.
I have SetCPU but it only goes up to stock CPU speed. I have come to understand that I need a new kernel that will allow me to bump it up over stock clock.
I do not want to go too high (Was thinking around 1.1Ghz, maybe a little higher?) because from what I understand, it is already clocked pretty high out of the factory. If anyone can help me understand a bit better I would greatly appreciate it.
I need to find the correct kernel and figure out how to install or whatever without turning my phone into a paper weight.
Help please?
You can't OC the DX on the Froyo yet. We could do it on 2.1 but not 2.2.
Also, the PSX emulator is not coded very well and the stuttering and horrible playing experience on it is due to bad coding and also a fairly weak GPU on the DX.
If you want the best gaming experience at this point in time, get the Sanding Fascinate. Its CPU and especially GPU runs circles around the DX. However, you will still have to wait until the coding gets better for that emulator.

Yes- you do need a custom kernel and there aren't any yet. The bootloader is locked and they are working on cracking it. Until then- no goodski.
Thanks, but there is a new problem...
Ah, I see. So I wait then. haha, but I have a new problem now.. I installed Tranquility and now all my stupid phone does when I power up is show the loading screen. It's been doing it for a good 15 minutes now. I know it is off subject but can someone tell me how to remove this Rom?

Well the first and most important question is - did you back up your original rom before you loaded tranquility- bc if not - it is bad news. If you backed up- then you can restore your back up. If you didn't- well- I am not sure what you can do. I will wait to hear if you have a back up.
If you can't figure it out, you could flash the newly released sbf.

Yes- just in time- you can now restore your system bc the SBF was just leaked last night. Google...
VRZ_MB810_2.3.15_1FF_01
and you will be directed to several sites that have the file hosted.
That is just great news! I have to find a way to charge my battery though... I am friends with a few of the verizon guys so maybe I can get them to charge my battery on one of the DX's in the store. Thanks guys, I'll try the new VRZ_MB810_2.3.15_1FF_01.sbf!
u dont have to use 2.2 SBF. if you can reload back to ClockworksMod Recovery, dl the OTA 2.2 Deodexed Update.zip file here.

Hi all,
Here's short history of the phone:
Friend of mine drop his on the concrete about June of last year and whole screen was cracked (not pretty). About month ago I found LCD Screen with Digitizer on ebay bought it and replaced it.
After turning it on everything was working except random reboots. Phone was not registered to any account so there was no internet only WI-FI.
So I started going into system updates and downloading HTC updates it did two of them and I think on the 3rd one it just starts to boot white HTC EVO 4G screen comes on and then it reboots.
Only pulling the battery will stop it.
This is all on stock HTC Sense ROM, rooting was never attempted!
I've searched thru the forums here but everything here relates to failed rooting process.
Can someone please make any suggestions?
Bellow is the pictures of boot loader.
Help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
Followed the instruction, run RUU and it starts to check the phone after this I get error[170]: USB connection error.
I've tried over 10 times.
Step 4 says "Make sure USB debugging is enabled on your phone."
I can't even log into Sense?
The only other thing you can do is find a PC36IMG.zip and put it on your microSD card, then reboot into the bootloader. It should find it and reflash everything, the same as using the RUU.

I've tried using this method found here
I placed PC36IMG.zip in root of the SD card. But when I boot into recovery I can see for about 3 seconds on the right side status bar how it checks PC36IMG.zip file but then it goes back to recovery. It never ask me if I want to update like it says in the above tutorial "Do you want to start update?"
Any other suggestions?

I found this but its not the same place I got mine from. http://www.filecrop.com/htc-evo-4g-roms.html
Thanks for the reply!
Somewhat of a progress. I tried countless times and it always gives me USB connection error: Then I downloaded HTC Sync and and I think I went to Hboot and I heard sound on windows it seemed like phone got recognized and I was able to finish the processes. It was flashed using RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2.15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed. Then when I went to again in recovery it was again red triangle over the phone.
After that I just let it try to boot and it finally booted into HTC sense!
Turned on WI-FI and wanted to check if there's any updates and it said no updates?
This is what recoveries I've tried so far:
Amon RA 2.1.1
Amon RA 2.2.1
Amon RA 2.3 (Added 02/09/2011)
Stock Recovery 3.26.651.6 (Added 01/18/2011)
Stock Recovery 3.29.651.5 (Added 01/18/2011)
Stock Recovery 3.30.651.3 (Added 01/18/2011)
Stock Recovery 3.70.651.1 (Added 01/18/2011)
One by one I tried each one renaming to PC36IMG.zip and none of them asked me if I want to do the update. It just checks it and goes back to bootloader.
Why do I get red triangle?
What should I do now?
Help is appreciated!
My wife got me a brand new A500 off ebay a couple of months ago for a Christmas gift(for me it's only three days old). So far I love it but it will not take the OTA update that it keeps bugging me about. The download starts fine but then stalls out mid download. I looked here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878 but did not see my current version there. Can anyone point me in the direction of the OTA I need to download and flash with recovery? My build is Acer_a500_1.145.09_com_gen1 I'm running 3.0.1. It looks like it's trying to download 4.010.11.
Further info:
According to the log the file name is Acer_A500_1.145.09_4.010.11_com_gen1_1311243587838_bd1ab95c.zip
I can't find that file anywhere on the net.
The reason I would suspect is because someone replaced the stock recovery? Off eBay you say, was it brand new and never used? It sounds like it was used or someone tampered with it?
If that's not the case, then you can just install the update manually. Download the update you want and put it on your external SDCard and then enter recovery (using power and volume). The recovery will install the update for you.

It said it was brand new. My wife would not buy something like this used. The weird thing is it knows it has an update and it starts to download and get's up to half way downloaded and then it just stops. It shows that it still is pulling data but the downloaded file size doesn't increase anymore after it stalls.
Ive been looking into rooting it and since I'm on 3.0.1 it appears Gingerbreak is all I need. The next question is what rom should I get and how do I go about installing it? I've never rooted droid before and most instructions on XDA are written for the experienced level and not the new guy. I'd like to stay fairly stock but rooted.

There are reports of others having the same issue. They say that a soft reset often fixes it.

Just to make sure I'm getting it right: I go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20680452 download that to my PC and follow the instructions contained within and I end up with a stock rooted 3.2.1? Yes, if you want to flash 3.2.1 stock with root read the instructions in the download. The download has everything in it.
The soft reset everyone talks about is using the paperclip in that little hole next to the USB port.

How to get official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on your Boost Mobile Moto G (1st. gen.) without root.
Step 1. Make sure you are running stock 4.4.4. If you are not on 4.4.4, I don't think this will work and it might brick your phone.
Step 2. Make sure you have a backup copy of anything important from your device.
Step 3. Download this file, put it on your Moto G, in a folder where you can easily find it.
Step 4. Power off the phone. Once the phone is fully powered off, hold down both the volume down and power buttons for about 5 seconds, you are now at the boot menu. Using the volume down key, highlight "Recovery", use the volume up key to select it, after maybe 10-20 seconds you will see the message "No Command.". Don't panic, this is good. Now press the volume up button and power button at the same time and then release them at the same time. You must press them and release them at the same time for it to work. Your device should reboot to a new screen with some red text and several options, using the volume rocker to highlight "apply update from sdcard", use the power button to select, now, using the volume rocker to highlight and power button to select, navigate to the file you downloaded. Select that zip file. Your phone should begin installing the update, it will probably take about 10-20 minutes. After finished, select "Reboot device". Even if you don't see any changes/progress, don't worry, it's rebooting and It should be finished in about 10-30 minutes, depending on how many apps you have installed. As soon as it finishes rebooting, you're good to go.
If it doesn't work, let me know.

Oh its been out. Like a couple months at the very least.
did this work for anybody?
If i do this will i be able to get the official update also? Jst curious
Much Thanks!
Thanks a lot for putting this out for others to use. The least I could do is say thank you and kick you a donation. Thanks again!
Is this the Soak test or Official update? i flashed the 5.0.2 soak a few months ago. Would it be considered safe to wipe everything and then flash this? or is the exact same thing and would i be wasting my time? I have had issues with "ok Google" not working properly, Does the Hotword from any screen wotk in this version?
The zip contains BatteryTracer and Bug2Go apps so I assume it is the soak test.
Just a heads up I am running a TextNow moto g which is just the boost variant. And I tried 3 times but each time the firmware would fail halfway through the verification process.

Everytime I go into the recovery it just sticks on the dead android? Anyone know what's wrong? Thanks.
Thanks for posting this but it didn't work on my phone. Everything was a success but now I just get a black screen with no app launcher. I can't launch anything from the notification menu and nothing shows up when pushing the nav buttons at the bottom, It might have broken something.

Fixed the problem above with a factory reset.
Hello hello,
First time poster as I don't know crap to help folks since I'm just learning *ahem*, and I've come across an issue that has me completely stumped with a recently purchased refurbished Moto G4...
([Edit/Update]: So apparently new users can't embed links, and so it appears that my Imgur photos are also not posting...?)
TLDR: OTA to Nougat refuses to install on XT1625...because Consumer Celluar?
So here's the long version... Bought a refurbished Moto G4 XT1625 (not amazon) with the intention of using it as a learning aid for unlocking, rooting, etc.
Unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP, backed up, rooted via Magisk, backed up. After a couple days, up pops the OTA notification. "Yay" I thought. Then "Oh wait, I heard root + OTA can be difficult". So I read. A lot.
Fast forward and of course the OTA failed when I just accepted it. However, I captured the file, pulled up the stock ROM download from the official Moto website after checking that the build numbers matched, and proceeded to unroot and reflash that stock ROM (except for bootloader and gpt files). I booted back up, got the notification again, and hit OK. Fail. So I booted into recovery and tried to sideload OTA (using "Blur_Version.24.31.65.athene.retail.en.US.zip" pulled from "com.motorola.ccc.ota-20171028-062630.tar.gz"). Fail.
Maybe somehow I misread the multiple how-tos out there, and I'm screwing something up in the process here?
After numerous rinse and repeats of the above steps, I cannot for the life of me get past this damn error which (assuming my inexperienced eyes are reading it properly) seems to say that the current CCMyConsumer.apk on my phone is somehow wrong (corrupted/incorrect/missing?), and so the OTA's response to me is a big FU.
Verifying current system...
E3005: "/oem/app/CCMyConsumer/CCMyConsumer.apk" has unexpected contents.

This seems.......weird to me? If I have both the stock ROM and am using the actual OTA, why would a random provider's app be screwed up, much less screwing up the update.
Also, if it matters at all, here's that particular directory tree in a file manager...an apk file doesn't appear to even be there?
Could a lack of existence be the "unexpected contents?"
So, the question as in the TLDR, any ideas on what the cause or solution to this error or overall OTA issue could be? I'm at a loss.
The only other item I noticed is that my "Settings" now crashes if I attempt to navigate into "Apps" within its menu. However, if I navigate directly into an App's info page via the app drawer, I can access those. Not saying this is related, I have no idea, but being the only other oddity, and since it persists through flashes, I figured I'd mention it (even if unrelated, I am still curious what could be going on there too...).
Thanks in advance for any help, education, or peace of mind. =P

Do you still have TWRP installed? You cannot flash an OTA update with TWRP installed. You'll have to find and flash the original Nougat ROM which will remove TWRP. Then accept the OTA update and let it install. Then, if you need TWRP, flash it again. I know because I was in the same boat when I accidentally accepted the OTA update with the Sept security patch and it screwed up my phone (XT1625) royally. Check out this thread which describes my process.

Thanks for the advice, sorry for the late reply as I was out of the country. I do understand the need to get rid of TWRP first, but I'll read through your recommended threads and see what happens!
