[REQ] ROM w/ Original version of Sense from 1.43 ROM - HD2 General

Hey guys - I know I am not the only one that has NEVER had the same level of performance from the various custom ROMs as I got from the very first 1.43 version of the European/Asian version of the HD2. Unfortunately, the T-Mobile USA version of the HW is incompatible with that ROM... Since it seems to just be the HTC Sense that has the problems, does anyone know of a ROM with the original Sense running on one of the more recent builds of WinMo? (Something running on 6.5.x would of course be ideal.)

Wow - over 100 views and no takers? Can anyone at least explain why this cannot be done?

DCDs 3.x roms and kitchen are based on the 3.35 rom and radio (not the beta 3.16/3.27 rom) and they also have WM6.1

Topaz TF3D on Blackstone

hey i was wondering if blackstone will get an offical upgrade to the new touchflo3d (diamond2 or touchpro2) frm htc when the 2 phone releases.
Thanks in advance
I don't think it's reasonable to hope such thing. When you look at the Diamond2 specs, it's nearly a cut'n'paste of the Blackstone's. Allowing an official upgrade to install TF3D2 on the HD would kill the Diamond2 — commercially speaking.
But if you want to get it anyway, you should try some cooked ROMs.
Exactly as clandestino_usr said. For HTC to issue this would kill off other devices by HTC. Rather annoying as Apple give out free upgrades to existing uers, why can't HTC follow suit!!!
You best bet is to use cooked roms. Once new phones come out with newer roms etc, its only a matter of time before a cooked version is available on xda developers. Just wait a while!
interested in this as well. have there been any releases that would allow this?
Yep, there are now several new cooked roms using the 1.56 rom as a base. the 1.56 rom are the roms used in the touch pro 2 and diamond 2 (inclusive of the new manilla/touch flow 3d) - My reccomendation: Dutty's V3 Ship!

hey cool. thanks man. i found a link to wwe 1.56 rom download at htcdriver.com -- couldn't find it when i did a search here in xda. thanks a lot for the help. am downloading now. by the way, i was looking at the dutty rom thread and website for a full list of features that the dutty rom contains, or maybe even a comparison of features side by side with the standard htc rom but couldn't find it --- is that posted anywhere?
does duttys do phone keypad with t9?
i read that somewhere and that put me off this rom
i went ahead and downloaded the dutty v3 ship anyway and yes it does have phone keypad with t9
Unfortunately HD does not have the hardware zoom slider. So we can't do any controlled zoom in the album using these cooked ROMs.
So there aren't any CAB installers present for installation of newer versions of TouchFlo?
I was using cooked ROMs for a while with 2.5 on it, but have went back to the Stock version for the sake of battery life. I'm not impressed by the version 1.3 on it, but I can't find any sort of CAB files for newer versions.

The most stable wm6.5 rom with htc sense 2.5

I'm currently using "Miri WM 6.5 21885 V 33.0" ROM and it works great.
However, i would like to move on to a ROM with htc sense 2.5 cause
i really like the new interface.
I've flashed some htc sense v2.5 ROMS but nothing came close in terms
of speed to the manila v2.1.
Can anyone tell me what is the fastest manila v2.5 ROM out there?

Unfortunately manila 2.5 roms are generally slower than manila 2.1 roms due to htc sense (manila 2.5) not meant for HD (meant for HD2).
As for which is fastest, this is really down to trial & error, i.e. you trying out a few and finding this out yourself. Everyone will generally have different opinions on this or loyalties to certain rom chefs so you'll get different answers from different people.

HD2 rom sense ui 2.5 upgrade telstra

Hey,
I have a HTC HD2 and i was considering to upgrade the my phone to rom which has the sense ui 2.5 but i am not sure if it will void my warranty or get rid of any accessibility to the nextg network or something.
Has anyone updated their telstra hd2 with this rom? And if so did it work out well?
Regards,
Gabriel.
Cooked ROMs on Telstra HD2.
I have a Telstra HD2 and I've been trying out various ROMs since I got it back in January. Some of them are good and work well and provide almost any feature and tweak that you may need. Interestingly, Telstra own ROM, while based on an older version of 6.5, is quite stable and fast. As long as you only research properly and only install tried and tested components that around, you should be able to go back to Telstra ROM, therefore keeping your warranty.

Real benefits of rooting?

When I had my WM phone before the magic, and I had it customized, it ran way better with a custom ROM that i cooked from a kitchen. Will the Magic also run better on one of the custom ROMs on here vs the official HTC Sense ROM that I have on it now?

of course it will
I'm currently running cursorSense, which is based on the new Rogers update with Sense UI, and it seems much faster my friends who have the same phone.
