I tried the oppositeway to HAVE message sent notification. (Iwant this notification to work) but still I dont get any.
I have tried it on HTC messaging clien 2013 and 2014 . No success.
Edit: I was making mistake in putting registry. It works though without sound (only taskbar icon)
sorry for my above remarks...

On my HD2 it doesn´t work. What did you write into dword to enable this?
I had to create the entry on my own. I did it with dword:0 because i want to enable the sent notification.
But this doesn´t work. No taskbar icon, nothing.

Hmm... I post this reg to disable sms sent notification in latest MC. Not to have it working for old version.

Hi, i also want to turn of the send notification. I tried the cab above and I checked the register, it's changed. But i still get the send notification. I have the Vodafone ROM (1.72), so it should work?
I already searched the whole internet, but it seems nothing can help me stopping the send notifications

Does it also kills the notification on the top bar of my home screen? Or does it only kills the sound?

It kills ALL. Work now just like before the update - in my Topaz.
That's great news.
Thanks.
PMoto

thanks, it works great

+1, thanks for the tweak my friend ! Nice !

To kill the sound only
To kill the sound only I use Do Nothing - An application that does nothing! I renamed it from donothing.exe to StressSoundSMSsent.wav and run it under one of my hardware buttons on my WM5 phone. I have many uses for it There are more nice programs to be found on the above link, have fun ppl.

Hi,
I just installed the new update from HTC.
Now i have ROM 3.14.402.2(04666) NLD
This update also has an notification that the sms has been sent to the receiver.
I also turned on the notification that the sms has been deliverd to the receiver.
Now i want one notification, that the sms has been sended, turned off.But i want the other one, that the sms has been deliverd, to stay on.
When i install this cab, does it turn off both? or just the notification in which has been implanted in the new rom?

Sorry for my english
You don't need to change registry, you can disable sound for succes notification in winmo settings:
Start > settings (or option>plus on sense) > sound & notification > notification and you will have a list (clic on the 1st line) and you can disable sms success notification.
You still have notification in top of home screen but without sound.

You are a life saver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently upgraded my HTC HD2 to the new 3.14.405.2 ROM update... Since then I had this annoying sent message notification sound and popup that you couldn't seem to disable....... Well you can disable it without registry hacks, or any kind of hack... You do it through the phones settings. It's been hidden away.
I contacted HTC and they replied with this answer:
Dear Andy Betts,
Thank you for your email.
In order to turn off the sms notifications try this:
Start -> Settings -> menu > all settings > Sounds & Notifications > Click on Notifications tab at the bottom > select Message: Send Succeeded, from the Event listing > Untick Play Sound and all the boxes.
Please let me know if it works.

It's not the case for the new o2 htc rom. But the download on this thread worked a treat. I do wonder sometimes who the hell tests programs and roms for htc cos they should sack the lot of them.

Disable Vibration
Same problem here... looking forward for a solution
I got this thread in this site :
But this doesnt work for me ..
.............................................................
You need to go into Start - Settings - Personal - Sounds and Notifications - Notifications.
Select the "Connection Established" event from the dropdown list and untick the "Vibrate" option.
Have to admit, I didn't realise Vibrate was an option under connect until I just took a look, but I can only assume you managed to set this to on at some point.
The option is in the registry under:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{8ddf 46e7-56ed-4750-9e58-afc6ce486d03}]
Options under this key can be set to change the notification settings, but I am not sure of the various numbers. It is much easier to set through the method above. Also, I would not guarantee the last part of the registry location as this may be a generated location. The "(Default)" entry in this key on my device is set to "Connection Established" however, which is a dead giveaway.
Hope this helps,
Graham.

its a bug that has been there since the HTC Diamond
fix?
anyway to fix it?
Please Help.
I cant live without sms notification!
There is a Registry tweak for the Diamond that fixes this - it should work on the HD too :
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\DisableSMSWakeUpEvent
set to "1" by default. meaning NO wake up to SMS message
set to "0" to enable wake up
EDIT : This was referenced from a Thread on the Diamond Forum
EDIT : Actually, having re-read your problem, this may not fix it - sorry.

Hd Tweak allows you to turn sms notification on.
Also make sure you have done
start--->settings--->phone---->services
then click on voice mail and text messages and then get settings.
Missing New Mail Missed Call Notification
I have the same problem phone does not display an new message or missed call icon in the upper tray. Seems to have happened after using HD Tweak and trying to hide the battery Icon, which is now in place of where the New Mail or Missed Call Notification Icon is normally displayed.
Anyone else expereincing this problem and any ideas for a solution?
Thanks.
Notification Problem Solved
Disconvered that I had an extra battery icon in upper tray from SPB plus. Removed thatand everything is now working fine.
My partner received his shiny new HTC Touch HD last week and after a few hours realised it was giving no notifications of text messages. Absolutely nothing as people have described here! It was new out the box and was making no noise, no notification on the Touch Flo, not even the standard Windows Mobile icon at the top. We tried every setting we could think of, and passed it to a friend whose had his HD for a couple of months now, who also couldn't find any good reason for its silence.
We gave in and hard reset the device (since it was only a couple of days old and he had yet to fill it with stuff!)
I'm glad to say, the hard reset solved all! No idea what the problem was, but it now gives all the correct notifications and obeys settings.
Just thought I'd share this in case others happen upon this problem since the thread gave us hope (in that others had the same problem) but no solution. I realise a hard reset isn't an elegant solution, but it did fix the problem
Fixed mine
Pauls suggestion for the diamond worked for me. My Touch HD running Energy ROM (WM6.5). I hadn't even noticed since my last ROM upgrade (i pressume) but my phone only alerted me to a new SMS when I had it switched on (not in stand-by). When I did notice I checked all the settings I could find for alerts and notifications, sms etc. The following registry tweeks fixed mine:

Threaded / unthreaded SMS

Hey peeps
I've found this registry tweak in the Kaiser forums, but worked like a charm on my original Iolite too:

You have to create the OEM folder yourself but apart from that it seems to work okay.

I didn't even had to reset or delete my device to see the changes. Just close all programs and I made the tweak with Total Commander (from Ghisler).
Greetz
U can dissolve this with advancedconfig 3.3
.NET 3.5 must be installed.
Greetings Mirko
one step ahead
Thx for the information.
After adding the reg key, my device playes the "new sms arrived" sound. Great.
But if I miss the sound, or the ringer is turned completely off, I do not see an indication for the new message unless I manually activate the screen.
I would also like to have the LED (on the top of the device) indicating that there is a new unread message.
Any idea?
Greetings!

The iolite have only one LED, the other is a light-sensor to correct the brightness automatically.
Try this: Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications.
Mirko
Thanks a lot for this nice hint!
I really started to dislike the threaded way already.
But I had to reset my Iolite to swap to unthreaded sms.

No SMS sound

Hello,
I don't get a sound notification when i got a new mail or sms.
I used the led notification mod, witch is working.
The vibration works also.
System vulome is 20% Telephone volume = 80%
I did try to select an other "ring tone" this didn't work.
How can i get this fixed?
2nd side question, I want Flash to work on the phone, fore opera and ie.
Did find the operaflashfix, this didn't work.
ps, have the newest radio rom and NL rom.
I had the same problem but I downloaded sms fix from HTC website and now everything is ok. So maybe that is solution

I'd rater not use this fix, because i have no problems with sending sms.
And I heard that there could come more error's on using this fix.
any other methods?

Could it be you set to "Vibrate" > Only !!
Try Goto > Settings > Sound & Display > click on "Notification sounds" > click on "New message" > Vibrate (set to "On" not "Only")

I believe that notifications use the system volume. Could it simply be too quiet? (I may be wrong about that)

Viewing messages from Notifications bar...

On my old Touch Pro when you recieved a message whatever program you were using at the time if you clicked at the black bar at the top for notifications then on the view message icon it would display in a little bubble at the bottom of the screen overlayed ontop of the program you were using so you could quickly view the message and then minimize it an contiue what you were doing or click reply and it would enter you into text messaging. Is there anyway to enable this feature for HD2. Because I miss it!
Cheers

have you recently flashed a rom? if so what back up program did you use to backup/restore PIM data? When i flashed my first rom i was using SPB Backup and when restoring PIM data, it would loose the bubble you talk about, I have since used PIM Backup and not had an issue.
Its always been like it, with first ROM, i upgraded to 1.66 and now im on 1.72, by the way big mistake! My phone is now slow as hell and doesnt send texts or recieve whether updates!
I assumed that it was the new stly of notifications menu and hoped there was a way to enable the other style?

About to flash myself. I'll come back here if I get any problems.
Ok let me know ive found its not so bad now 1.72 I am currently on a personal record(this is not a joke this is the longest ive ever been able to run the phone without reseting) of 17hours 23minutes without needing to soft reset however i have had to do funny things to make that possible see here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=666458
Can anybody tell me if in any ROM version when u get a text in and click in the notifications menu it opens the message in a bubble at the bottom rather than taking u too messages tab??
Thanks
Anyone know how to display message in the pop up bubble from the notifications bar rather than sending you straight to the messages tab (useful for reading the message while in another program)???
Many thanks
Still after a way to get this working really want to be able to quickly read a message while in another prograam like i used to on my toch pro. Help would be appreciated thanks

Very easy: Start, Settings, Menu, More, Sounds and Notifications, Choose New Message from DropdownMenu, Check "Show Message", Done
Greets
If i am in the right place it is greyed out and doesnt let me check the box although for me to get there it is:
start/settings/menu/all settings/sounds & notifications/ then click notifications tab then select New Message from DropdownMenu but the "Display message on screen" is greyed out?
Thanks for the reply
Hmm strange maybe it is ROM-dependant...? Or there are other settings need to be made in order to use this option...? Which ROM are u using? Have you got BSBTweaks installed?
No i dont have bsb tweaks installed i dont like the way you cant reset to defaults, i do have hd2 tweaks installed though. Will bsb tweaks make it work? im running latest voda Rom 1.72.

Actually i dont think that this has to do with BSB. I relly dont have an idea as the checkbox "Show Message" is a standard function of every windows mobile version Anybody else got an idea why the box is greyed out...?
I went searching through the registry and found keys which were in the NOTIFICATIONMGR bit which had a path linking to Messaging_Client which i guess is what directs it to the manilla messaging bit when you get a message. I tried deleting the path and deleting the values in the CMD bit but it still does the same. I restored the key after just incase it affected something else but presumably there is a key somewhere which controls whether or not you can click that check box but i have no idea where i would find it? Anyone know.
