My Clock keeps switching the time back 3 hours on me...Randomly. And when I reboot the phone. Its very frustrating..Any help?
did you set your region correctly?and under ALARM setting make sure you select "HOME"..sound silly but it happened to me once lol
You can also select it to run on internet time. Just go to setting/dataservices/internet time sync. This should help out I think.
mine did this when I enabled the internet time.. when I disabled, it worked as it should.

Have had the phone for about 2 weeks now. I have had the won't wake up from sleep issues 3 times already. Mostly overnight then in the morning won't wake up. Did the Active Sync manual change and shut off active sync was not connected to the charger overnight and in the morning locked up... Strange...
But the real strange thing is the phone loses the User name and password on the My ISP settings... It is truely a completly strange thing!!! For no reason the phone can't make a data connection. No error message nothing just trys for like 1 sec to make a connection then fails and no message nada..
First time it really confused the daylights out of me. Checked the connections and low and behold the username and password were missing. Put them in and voila it worked. Then 1-2 days later they dissapear...
Anyone else seeing this? I am at a complete lose as to how its happening.
I can only think that it may be pocket weather trying to do an update using the connection manager and it hits something it does not like which forces the username and password to be erased... That is the only program trying to get at the internet on its own...
I've had the won't wake from sleep issue a few times, but I've noticed it's only when I leave wifi enabled. At first it was overnight but then I noticed it was only after like 15-30 mins in sleep mode.
As far as it losing gprs settings, that's been fine with me. I had a weird issue where every other soft reset would reset my cleartype in landscape mode reg hack back to the default setting. That's been cleared up by that tweakcl.exe that was posted in another thread.
Thanks for the feedback! It is really a strange thing!!! Must be a software issue on losing the GPRS data settings.
Today I lost the bond with my BT headset. It was there yesterday working fine and today nothing in the Bluetooth connections... WEIRD!!!
I must have ghosts/gremlins in my 8525 or senility is setting in early...
The whole point of setting the alarm is that you can just leave it and know that it will go off at the assigned day and time. Unfortunately, it is just not reliable at the moment. I have already been late for work once, and have gone back to using my WinMo phone for the alarm, as at least that works every time.
It does seem to be an Android issue, I have seen it mentioned on other forums for other handsets, but I want to track down exactly what might be causing it on the Hero, and if there is a work around until HTC/Android releases fix it.
First off, the screen is switched off, but the phone is stil powered on, just like any other phone when you have the alarm set.
When I got the phone on Thursday, I set the alarm for Monday through to Friday, 10.30am.
Friday morning, the phone wakes and the alarm goes off at 10.30. Fine.
Monday morning, nothing happens. Go into the settings, check alarm set for the correct time and day, all is fine, it just didnt go off.
Tuesday morning, it works fine, phone wakes and alarm goes off at 10.30.
Wednesday morning, nothing. WinMo phone alarm wakes me at 10.34. I switch on the Hero's screen, and immediately the alarm goes off, 4 minutes late!
Last night I didnt charge it, thinking it may be an issue when being charged. But this morning it didnt work, so it is not an charging issue.
The Alarm icon was showing the top corner, so the alarm was obviously set, and the Clock App was still running (I checked in Advanced Task Killer). I will try to set it again tonight from scratch, and see if that works.
Having to set it every night would be a pain, but at least it would actually work like it is supposed to.
I've got the same issue and was about to get late for work this very morning just because of it. Luckily me I've got some sleeping disorders so I woke up before the clock should have went of either way...
HTC Needs to fix the clock in their TouchFLO..
Got somewhat the same problem...
Could a hard reset help?
A hard reset didn't do the trick for me. I really need the alarm clock to work so I think I'll buy an alarm clock app on the market, but I shouldn't have to ...
If you are using taskiller or advanced task manager, make sure you exclude the clock app from killed processes. I had this problem, when the clock came back after being killed the alarm wouldn't work even though the icon was there. Excluding it fixed it.
Cheers Ewans, i was killing the clock process and it was this that stopped my alarm this morning. Made me late! Still, i forwarded my boss this link so he could read himself. (Not that he was mad. He's a great boss!)
We should maybe think about making a list of processes, what they do and what you can/can't kill.
For instance, i don't use the Twitter widget as i find the notification bar and having Peep on my home screen just as quick and less resourceful hungry. But if you kill Peep sitting in the background, it will stop any notifications, so this needs to be left alone.
Even if I don't kill it (noticed that too), it still fails to go off sometimes.
Yes, it is not totally obvious what is going on yet.
The fix (based on one days trial!) seems to just before I sleep to go into the clock app, disable the alarm, then immediately enable it again.
This results in the "Your alarm will sound in 7 hours 10 minutes" type message.
That worked this morning, the question is if I leave it alone now, and dont kill the clock app, will it still work tomorrow? And if I restart the phone, will the Clock app and then the alarm still be running or do I have have to go into the Clock App manually?
If my clock is showing on the home page, and the alarm icon is in the top bar, I expect the alarm to go off.
It should not be possible to kill the alarm process, it shouldnt be part of the clock app at all, but a separate background process with settings controlled by the clock app, but not reliant on the clock app running.
This is what I've found out.
When you program your alarm for multiple days, it only sounds the first day.
If you uncheck and check your alarm, it will go of the next day.
This is without using TasKiller or something similar and without resetting. (just did nothing)
It looks like the multiple day option is a fake and you will have to set it every day. Allthough I haven't tried out multiple alarms, thinking about seven alarms, but you'll have to reset at least once a week.
Good luck waking up
Alarm works fine for me now, I use one for weekdays that goes off everyday, and another just on Sundays at a different time. I'm using a standard G2.
Check out the alarm volume settings.
The alarm has its own volume setting which can be change when you are inside the clock app and select the ringtone for an alarm (by pressing the standard volume up/down keys).
By accident mine was set to lowest value so it didn't go off but just vibrated.
Ok, after a week of testing, it seems that if you dont bugger around with killing the clock app via Task Killer or something else, it is fine.
I havent yet seen whether it will still be set if I completely switch off and switch on again. I will try that tonight. Even though alarm icon is shown, will the alarm be set without me going into the Clock app explicitly?
Works for for me, 2 alarms set for 6:15 & 6:30am mon - fri, never had an issue.
i'm new of HTC TD2. my clock time changes all the time when it goes sleep mode and i press the power button and want to make a phone call, i need to adjust the time back. this is really annoying me coz it means i can't use this mobile as my alarm at all.
can anyone help me? I've already read the thread in the forum. but still can't find the solution. Thanks heaps.
Same thing is happening for me. This is the second Pure that I have owned and it seems like the time doesn't "keep up". Sometimes it will be only a few minutes behind; other times, hours. It has caused me to be late for work and I now have to set 2 alarms (I hate using standard alarm clocks and their annoying beeps and prefer to wake up to music that I have set on my phone, but I need a reliable back up). I really like the phone and hate to have to send it back for the second time for the same thing, but HTC seems to think that it is AT&T's network issues (funny how no one else or any other phones in my house have this problem). I'd be interested to know how many other people are experiencing the same problem.
Play with your sync time with network setting and see if that helps.
Thanks for the reply.
i think i've solved the problem. just unticked the automatically time zone changed. and it's running fine now.
My tab(unrooted) has an issue where the time keeps going back by an hour. All of my time setting are OK. Any one else have this issue or know a possible fix
You probably don't have your timezone set right. Set it and you should be golden.
I've ckecked and double checked my time zone. It is correct

Does the hour change or the minutes?
I had time issues with both my Tabs, despite setting the correct time zone on startup. No amount of fiddling seemed to correct it.
Then I installed a program called ClockSync from the Market. Its a free app. It can automatically fix the time setting if you're rooted (and keep you in sync), or guide you how to do it manually if you're not rooted. Once I used this program to get my settings correct, I've been right as rain since.
Sorry, I just started a new thread, I don't know if our issues are the same -

Mine shows an hour different in certain things. The clock doesn't change by an hour, some things appear to use GMT and some BST...
Hi guys
Anyone using auto restart feature? (Settings > Device Care > three dots > auto restart)
so today i wanted to test this feature.
- my battery was 70%
- screen was off
- sim card lock disabled
it was around 21:25 so i set a restart schedule for today at 21:30. I thought my phone will auto restart around 21:30.. but it didn't. no idea why. I tested this 2 times..
I don't understand the meaning of this statement "Your phone will restart automatically within 1 hour of the time you set" what does that even mean? if i schedule a fixed time it should restart the phone at that precise moment right?
anyone using this feature and had any luck?
I am using it, 2 time per week with set time 02:00 morning. I can not say if it restart in that time or latter but in morning phone is restarted and I need to insert pin (face or fingerprint is not working)..
Possible that phone restart after target time depending of activity in background?

It says "within 1 hr" so that means itll restart when there's no on going activity anytime between 1 hr before to 1hr after the set time.

Exactly. Worked great to me but I disabled it as my phone did not stop asking for my PIN after restart even though I disabled strong security in security options.
Disable strong security if you want calls or messages to come in after a restart. Its say they will but that's not true many of us learned the hard way.
Ok thankss guys but what about alarm? If I have pin security do I need to unlock or ?
I disable security and alarms are working good after restart. After alarm I need to enter pin to use phone further

ok thanks. its bit weird i mean i closed all my bg apps and then scheduled the time. so im not sure within that 1 hour time frame what exactly the system gonna do.. because i already cleared all bg apps oh well. ill give it a try
The only problem is that you also need to disable sim pin as well... It's the only reason why I don't use that feature.
I tried it one time, but my my alarm didn't work (until logging into your phone after the reboot), so I no longer do the auto-restart.... I just manually restart it every day or two.
Also, always manually restart periodically. Sometimes I turn it off to rest at night! ???
Alarm works normally after auto restart .

Will alarm clocks still work if auto restart whilst sleeping?

I always used that on my s9+ but haven't scheduled it yet on my s10+. It never interfered with alarms or anything.
