Hello,
I have a HTC Touch Diamond 2 for a while now, but I still have problems connecting encrypted to Wi-fi networks. My Wi-fi network is encrypted by simple WEP-encryption. My phone is able to connect to the network (seems), but I can't get any data over that network.
I have tried other Wi-fi equipment and that all works fine. Connecting the phone to a Wi-fi network with another access point (encrypted) is also failing.
For now I can just connect to unecrypted networks.
I'm running WM6.5 (5.2.2.21887), Radio version 4.49.25.91.
The phone is not branded (never been).
Does anyone know a solution to this?

Whats up im delineator, this is my first post. I have been trying to get my htc touch by sprint to connect to my wireless router. I went to the connections icon in the setting and setup my work connection to use a proxy server, which i put in the IP of my router. I'm not sure if it worked, the speed seemed to be a little faster but i did a test and turned my wireless portion of the router off and I was still able to connect to the internet through my phone, so I guess its still using the sprint evdo network instead of connecting thru my router. I tried to turn on my WLAN but that doesnt seem to be working. I was wondering if someone had some answers for me, thanks!
there are 2 versions of the touch.
elf and vogue.
the elf has wifi, the vogue doesnt.
the vogues has more ram and rom.
Sprint Touch doesn't have wifi
Hi guys,
I'm currently having problems with wifi in laptop - it's connected to the network but it cannot transfer anything. So I have found a short term solution - to connect my TyTN II to wifi and then use it as a modem for my laptop via cable.
The problem is in Network Connections I can't choose wifi, only Orange Internet (3G). I tried to setup another one but there's no option to setup wifi connection, only cellular or 3G. Any idea how this could be done?
I got my HTC Hero today but I seem to be having problems connecting it to internet either over wifi or mobile data network. When I list the wireless networks I click on the desired AP, input the correct password and all I get is "connecting.." and after a while "disconnected". I can use the wireless network on my laptop without problems. The wireless networks I tried were WPA2 Personal, WEP and Open (tried different AP routers). It doesn't even try connecting to gprs even thought I enabled it in the settings. I upgraded the HTC Hero's firmware to the latest found on their support site, but I still get the same problem.
Anyone know what problems I might be experiencing or how I might fix it?
Before and after the recent TMOUS ROM upgrade, I have always been unable to access the internet with the wifi hotspot created by my iPhone as the wifi router, while my laptop and ipod touch could. Are there any special settings I have to do on HD2? Any suggestions? Thanks.
Now I could not even access internet via my hone wifi router - it used to be able to right after the ROM upgrade last hight...
Have you checked your wifi settings, you may have to re-configure your HD2 to your network.
I have updated my ROM to 2.13 but didn't encounter this issue.
Yes I did check the wireless controls (comm manager) for connections many times and showed clearly it was connected to my home wifi router network; but it just could not access internet ("Error! Connection closed by remote server"). I must have missed something in configuring wifi settings properly... Would you be kind enough to show how/what to re-config the wifi settings to access internet? My other mobile devices could access internet via the same home wifi router without having to re-config anything...
I figured out the problem
I noticed that the wifi IP address for my HD2 was completely different from those of my other mobile devices on the same home wifi router, so it dawned to me that I might have inadvertently put it on a different wifi network. I decided to re-flash the new TMOUS ROM (2.13) upgrade, and go through the wifi setup again more carefully. It turned out that last time when the setup asked me if I would use "TLS" wireless network for authentication, I tapped the "wireless network" button - although I should have ignored it and tapped the "next" button instead, which I did this time. Now I could access internet via my home wifi router, as well as via the wifi hotspot created by my other mobile device. So the problem is considered SOLVED.
Hope this post is helpful for those who might be experiencing similar problem as I have been.
or maybe your phone felt insulted you were trying to connect it to the internet via an inferior children's phone (iPh#$% - sorry no cursing allowed) and just said no. i bet if you tried using your PC (not M*C) as a hotspot, or a dlink (lol) you hd2 would connect perfectly.
ps: dlink is about the worst router out there
Good morning, as in title, hotspot works partially,
explaining:
other cellar phones connect without problems and I am able to surf in internet, but if I try to connect the pc (win 8.1) , it connects itself to the cellular phone, but it doesn’t allows to get the access to limited connection network.
I tried to change the APN with default, supl, dan but nothing at all. I have still a limited connection.
I insert the card (Tim) into another cellular phone (Asus Zenfon2) and it works without issues.
Do you have any solutions to solve this problem
Thank you
