I read somewhere that the Hero could perform 2 MFLOPS as it is now, where the Desire / Nexus One could perform 7,x MFLOPS. After the update to 2.2 the Nexus one / Desire would perform 35,x MFLOPS (!). An increase of 450%. If this is true and it have the same performance boost on the hero, our devices should feel faster than the desire / nexus one feels now !

I´m kind of concerned about this one.
We still don´t have an official 2.1 Android release on our Heroes when Google is launching 2.2 with this supposed super enhancements, just what Hero needs....speed!!!!
My guess is that Hero will reach it´s update end with 2.1. No 2.2 with Sense interface for us.
Maybe some guys over here in XDA will have it port to our Heroes, maybe without Sense, maybe with Sense, cut off some features, etc. That´s up to them if they are still interested in developing for our Heroes while they are all moving to the Desire!!!!

HTC are just putting off updates and will continue to do so until no one cares about the Hero getting updated, That's what they've always done. We won't see a HTC legit version of 2.1 or 2.2 on the hero.

Considering the 450% times faster performanace of Froyo (A2.2) on the same device I am getting to think that it should work well on Hero as well. Coz it looks like Optimizations are done regardless to hardware capacities. (Like Windows 7 for PCs, works well and can be run on low resources than what Vista needs..):

But If were in HTC then I would make every effort to put future updates on HTC hero. Because, Hero is one such device which brought fame to HTC than any other devices. A smashing Hit.
I wouldn't put it past HTC come out and say we are going to skip 2.1 and go straight to Froyo

If HTC were going to skip 2.1 for 2.2 like they did with 1.6 we would be waiting for another 2 year going on the current rates!! the kernel has JIT built btw
I dont see why HTC would not just do 2.1 or 2.2 as in the uk on the 3 network the hero is still a big seller so would be stupid not to update the rom.

First off, this isn't another 'I can haz gingerbread?' thread. This is something I've found and has me excited.
Also, I'm not telling you to download the app. Don't, its useless. The app just displays features of the Tab.
If you go to Samsung Apps, find an app called Retail Mode and look at the screenshots. 2 of them are in Korean/Chinese and *have* the GB battery icon and status bar icons.
This could mean its in testing or nearly ready for release!
Attached a screenshot of the app screens. Hopefully its clear enough to see.

Its just something for phone stores to demo features of the tab. Its not worthy of a download as its just for display purposes, but the screenshots of the app are what you need to look at Gingerbread battery icon and the grey GB notifications.

I quite suspect the same they will roll out 2.2.1 thentowards end of axing support (typical samsung). Gingerbread will be released they want to focus on 10.1 & 8.9 models.
Well, I've been running the official 2.2.1 on my Hong Kong version Tab for about a week now and I have to admit it's running super smooth.
Especially with LaucherPro.
Having good hopes for Gingerbread but for now I'm a happy camper.

my backup from the stock rom goes to hell by a hdd crash.
is there a way to go back to stock rom from the overcome rom (i have a euro tab).
the roms on samsungfw are not updateing by kies software

If a official or fully working GB rom was to come out tomorrow I would flash it even though im waiting patiently for a HC flavor.
I'm hoping now that the HC rom has been released and kernel to follow that we get some more devs joining in, would be ace to have a stable HC rom, even if stuff liek camera didnt work at first I would still get it on and have as my daily.

Agreed. I would try GB if it comes today. I even tried stock 2.2.1 update wild in asia. I would wish for HC flavor as well but a stable build that is usable at basic level.
Also I might stick to Stock GB should I update to a bigger tab

LOL No but you will be surprised as how many of these ESN-burnt in CDMA handsets got exported out to China, as they have a way to make their provider to modify the network to make these US-only handsets to work.
Of course, limit to 1x and if you are lucky, EvDO data only.
Oh also did I mentioned that someone in China has figured out by simply change a byte in the radio firmware, you can make the TBolt to ignore built in ESN and instead to read the SIM (more like RIM for CDMA) slot and register their phone on the CDMA network as they already doing in China?
Just FYI "HTC" also means "Sausage" in Chinese.

Running it now. Pretty good. It's pretty fast and close to stock. Installed Cypis' Perfect Rosie RC1 over it and all is smooth.
Wish it didn't have the screen on animation but it seems everyone uses it :/

Oh yeah. The app drawer is not paginated and, like most ROMs, it causes apps to be cut off at the bottom of your list. If the OP would release a paginated app drawer patch that would be awesome.

Well after extended use I am seeing that I am getting random reboots. This will probably cause me to switch ROMs. Shame because I really liked this and it just seemed a bit better than the BAMF sense 3.0 ROM

Thunderbolt can working on China CDMA Network with 1x/EVDO
there is 3 ways to using Verizon Phone in China
First , Modify Radio , like Tbolt, Change the ESN reading Order.
Second, Modify ESN IMSI and AKEY on Cellphone, like EVO 4G/EVO 3D
Third, Change the ESN on Telecom's Switchboard. Like IPHONE4 CDMA.
You know , the same thing China is more expensive than USA. they need pay for tax more than 60%.
Android 2.3.7 has been built/ported, for the G2, from the Nexus S, and am building more devices every moment

lol, I'm not much of a crack flasher these days, can only go through the ritual of setting everything up every couple of weeks...
Flashed it this morning, seems good so far, I couldn't get my paid apps to re-install via the market, but, that's known? Not the biggest fan of the new market anyways, will probably revert to the old version
Ended up restoring them via TB for the meantime...
Only other thing that I've noticed... it calls my phone a tablet

On a seperate note: I'm not having the paid market app problem!! Downloaded, wiped/all, and flashed, used ice and fire gapps (newer version than the one on my sdcard(for some reason it doesn't bring you to the "normal" gapps download screen. Goes straight to the homescreen after gmail sign-in. I downloaded gapps manually btw) after that, I tried downloaded weather and toggle Widgets, paid app, and it downloaded and installed fine. So, I decided to do more of my paid apps (TB donate version, rom manager pro, several games) and they all downloaded just fine!!! All in all, the only "bug" I found was the market wont let me download multiple apps at once. If you try and download multiple apps, it freezes and I have to cancel and download all of them individually!

I don't know why this rom isn't getting any love or why it was moved to general but anywho...great rom so far! Did a fresh install/wipe and I haven't had any problem with paid market apps at all Just wondering, do you recommend the kernel on your website instead of the included one?

CleanROM was designed to be a cleaned up Open Mobile MR 4 Update with some features and enhancements! This is not a heavily themed ROM. All HTC and Google Apps are uptdate as of 4/21/2012. ROM is de-odexed and zip aligned
This is Release Candidate 1 and will surely go through enhancements and fixes. Please feel free to share your feedback!
No Verizon Apps and are not supported yet. In time support for VZW Apps will be added.

Tweaked: Performance and Battery
Enhancements: Extended Quick Settings, Battery with percent
You may get a Notification asking you to "Set Current Time." To disable this notification go to Settings -> Date & Time -> Uncheck Automatic
WiFi Tether seems to be touchy with this ROM.
The HTC Hot Spot feature works but only seems to be 3G and is FREE!
Location does not turn on during initial setup and must be turned on in the Settings.
Place ROM on SD Card
Reboot to recovery
Wipe all data / Factory reset - Do not restore anything from back up. Do not ask in the thread if you can. You will be referred back to here!
Flash ROM

Yeah, for some reason I cant get the theme to work right with certain mobile browsers. Kinda of Ironic, huh?
If someone with some PHP / HTML / vBulletin skills could help me figure it out that would great!

I have been running it a couple days and its been stable and quick. Battery seems decent. I need to clean up the status bar so they use VZW icons instead of the generic ones but thats easy enough. Then I will eventually add support for VZW apps.
Also can you guys play around with the HTC Hot spot? I swear its working for free! I just want to make sure I am not crazy! lol
I'll give it a go once the VZN apps are working. I need my NFL Mobile.

The newest build is sense 2.1, this is 3.0, they are totally different roms.

Awesome to see you working on the Thunderbolt. I have a Rezound and pretty much bounce between CleanRom and Rezrom for my daily driver (while playing with the others that are out there). I'm still a noob but seem to be developing an addiction to flashing roms. Now I get to apply your work to my wife's Thunderbolt.

Yes it does. I forgot to add that as a "feature" because that is a function of Sense 3.0+ based ROMS.

That would be stepping backwards from 2.3.6 / Sense 3.0 to 2.3.4 / Sense 2.1.
Going backwards would not make any sense (no pun intended, lol)!

Yep, you are correct. This is based off the Open Mobile ROM which is a Puerto Rican Carrier (Hence the lack of VZW Support and non branded task bar icons).

I've got BAMF Forever on my wife's phone with the 2.1 answer screen because she was getting the call answer bug (not allowing the option to answer an incoming call). It seems that all of the Sense 3.0 roms are having the same problem. Do you know if that will be a problem with this one yet? Probably going to wait until you tweak this one a bit more before I start getting in trouble for jacking with her phone.

Yes, I learned a long time ago not to start playing with Wifes phone...
But... This ROM is solid. I have ran it and would say its "wife-able"
And to answer your question about the Sense 3.0 and lockscreen. It works exactly as HTC intended. I have received a few calls and had no issues.
Keep in mind, this is not a port in the sense of porting one version of Sense to a lower version'ed ROM. This is native Sense 3.0 for the device on native Gingerbread 2.3.6 for the device. It was just designed for a PR carrier. I tested this out a for a few days know and its near identical to my Sense 3.0 ROMS for the HTC Evo 3D! Its very fluid!

How is everyone's 4G speeds on this rom? At my house I tested 4G on CM7, my GB 2.3.4 rom, and CleanROM. (yeah I have no life)
CM7 average 4G speed: 13.14 Mbps
My GB rom: 16.30 Mbps
CleanROM: 4.07 Mbps
I ran three spreed tests on each rom, at the same location on Speakeasy.net
Is this normal for the MR4 rom?
By the way, these were with the 2.11.605.19 radios.

Looks like a pretty interesting ROM! Can't wait to try it out on the N6. But to answer your question, any 5.1.1 factory image would work for me. At least that's my opinion.

if you are going to build a rom, you dont use a factory image, you use source, then build it up. btw, all factory images work on all providers/devices. anyways, taking a factory image and adding stuff to it is not providing "your" rom, its providing googles rom with add ons. thats different.

Even though the stock images were released to different carriers, AFAIK they should work on all N6's no matter which carrier. If that is in fact the case, the LVY48C image should work fine.

Venom is Enhancing the Stock Beauty And Performance for now ,
i can build and i have my environment ready but sources are big , and it costs 3.5 $ here to Have 1 GB download On 3G Providers So Pure AOSP may take 35$ For 1 time repo sync ,, Other providers have bad structure , Network Very Bad "Dissconections" and Very low speed"Actually i don't carebspeed i can leave my pc building but Desconnects , lead to Sync Faliure And That Need To Restart whole sync
And : I do this not to Gain money , not to Pay money , But to Make use of my free time to provide something that someone might like

i hear ya, and i feel for you as well. that situation actually sucks. but, you should build your own aosp rom. well, at least id be even prouder of it if it was mine. anyways, as long as you are happy, then im happy
btw, we all do this on xda for free. ive been helping people, developers as well, for years here. ive never ever even considered charging people for help. as i dont develop, i cant contribute to open source that way. so ive devoted my time to open source by helping all those that need help with android.. users, developers, and everybody else

I just think it would be interesting to see a N6 ROM with Sense integrated. I really don't care if you use AOSP source or a stock factory image. I am really looking forward to seeing your ROM available for the Nexus 6.

actually waiting the internet get better there's some government promises and some agreements i might be able to build from source by the half of this month.... it all depend on luck .. if it goes as my expectations there's new base

LVY48C Should do fine. I am personally on Verizon which uses the LMY47Z image, but I have flashed a couple of ROMs that used the LYZ28E image and I had no issues at all. So it is my understanding that all images should work on any carrier. Very much looking forward to the ROM!

I completely forgot about WiFi Calling! I have Verizon so its never been something I've worried about. But yes, LYZ28E would probably be the best option as it allows T Mobile users to use WiFi Calling. Otherwise, after looking at the code there are not many differences between LYZ28E and LVY48C.
