Market problem - Nexus One General

Ive had my nexus one for awhile
when i first got it back in March i rooted it and flashed cyanogen
since then ive had no problems with it
everything was running smoothly
and i spent quite allot of time
flashing between cyanogens rom and Modacos desire rom
Today as usual i noticed the market was being a bit slow (i was using modaco desire rom) and i found it a bit unusual
i check if i have any updates available for my apps
and of course there were a few
i update google maps and i noticed my phone was downloading google maps 4 times!
what i mean by that is google maps would be downloading, and then another arrow would come out saying google maps is downloading and then another and then another and my status bar said that i was downloading google maps so it would be downloading the update 4 times at the same time (i hope that makes sense) i thought it was just google maps but then i went to update my other apps and it would do the same thing. When i updated rom manager it downloaded and installed it quickly (its not that big) but then when i pressed home another arrow came down notifying i was downloading something so i scrolled down my status bar and it said it was downloading it AGAIN! and trying to install it again and it did this about 4 times
i thought it was my the Desire rom so i flashed cyanogen and i thought it was fixed but it kept doing it. Market tried to download/install some of the apps i downloaded 4-6 times
please help me
i cant install any apps now or update anything
becuase if i try it will try to install/download it over and over again

i am having the same problem..

have you tried going into settings under manage applications and "uninstalling updates" for the market...anytime i've had problems with it this has worked for me.

No I have not tried that
If you could explain how to do it step by step that would be great
Thank you in advanced

go into settings...then applications...manage applications...scroll down to market and select...then select the box "uninstall updates". done, it should be back to norm

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679746

I don't think that's what I mean because its not just Google maps that keeps doing the multi download its all my apps that I try updating. I thought it was just my apps and then I tried downloading a random app to see and it still multi downloaded

Market installs hung

In the new market app I selected the option to update all apps that were pending, this option has worked for me in the past, however this last time it updated several apps but not all apps. Six of the apps are stuck on "installing" and it has been stuck in this state for over 24 hours.
To try and address this I have done the following...
- Forced closed Market app
- Rebooted the phone
- Shutdown phone and removed battery
- Killed market process and several other processes
- Uninstalled affected apps via other processes
Unfortunately these apps remain stuck "installing" mode, because they are stuck I can't reinstall them.
Other apps that are not one of these 6 can still be installed/updated/uninstalled.
Has anyone had this happen before and anyone have suggestions on how to correctv this so I can reinstall my apps.

Try following the instructions on this page http://www.honeytechblog.com/fix-samsung-galaxy-market-download-system-restore-issue/
That should help with the issue

Thank You Kaotikevo,
The steps in that link did not correct my problem but they did point me into a direction that did fix it.
After following the steps twice to no avail I had noted that the Market App in the settings area you pointed me to had the option to rollback the last update. I rolled it back and that corrected the problem. I was able to reinstall the app and my last glance at the phone showed it reinstalling the new Market.

Download Unsuccessful T-Mobile HTC Hero G2

Anyone having this issue tonight? I have tried reloading settings, reflashed phone to 1.5, 2.1 still fails downloading apps.
I have tried no sdcard, new sdcard e.t.c.
I'm having the same problem with my desire hd, thought it might be something with my phone settings or an app i installed but after seeing this thread, maybe a server issue?

Possibly could be, can anyone confirm this with any other phones?
Yup, I have the same problem and my other friends also can't download anything from the Market.
You talking about Market access?... I'll have a go,....
EDIT,... YEP, fail.
Server Issues *Sigh* I reset my phone for nothing thinking it was an issue. Damn!!!!
Just tried downloading maps on my girlfriends Hero.... fails ever time.. on "3" UK but my Desire works fine...
For some reason i'm now getting more luck using mobile data, not WIFI.
It does fail to start 3 times out of 5 but if it doesn't start downloading after 5 seconds or so I just cancel download and hit install again.
had some luck downloading a couple of apps but the failure rate is higher than the success rate, does anyone have a clear idea what's going on? google returns results that are a year or two old with this forum being the only recent one on the topic
oh for **** sake. i wiped my phone and reflashed my ROM :|!
add another person to your list :|
I had the same problem on my Hero.
Did following things and then it worked for most of the downloads, couple of them didnt work I assume that could be bcos it wasnt meant for 2.1
What I did -
swap the sim and it gave me that I am signed out from Google..
Changed back to original sim again... signed in to google emails...
Then in Settings> Account & Sync> Unticked Google...
Came out of the settings...
Restart the phone..
Went back in the settings.. tried downloading... it failed...
Went back into Settings>account & sync>.. Ticked All options for Google...
Waited for that little circular sign to appear on the top bar and google email thing..
Came out of settings...
Downloaded apps from Market...
and it got installed...
let know if it helped..
thanks
It's ok forgot to post back in this thread, it seems like a market server issue for everyone not for a certain configuration. It's ok now.
Still wont download here.... still cant download google maps on this dam phone....
even wireless wont.... my Desire is still fine.
i'm having issues too.. some apps just stuck on downloading =/
hmm...
on my hero (t-mobile g2 touch android 2.1), my sapphire (cm6.0.0 ds) and my other sapphire (sparksmod 1.1.2) most of the downloads failed.
Astro File Manager works everytime on every phone.
my "nuerburgring livecam"-app also starts downloading on my sapphire cm6. now installing. the same with "öffi". but all the other downloads stuck on "downloading" or "download unsuccessful"
I was having problems with this for a few days, I tried everything.
Now it works fine for me, some say it was the market itself because of the big google maps update.
If you are on a Cyanogen 6.1 based rom (floyo and elelinux) this fix might work;

Also, wipe dalvik cache.

Lost root suddenly - CM7 RC1

I suddenly lost root on my EVO, running CM7 RC1. The only thing I've done that I can recall is install the HoneyBread theme the other night.

In my OP I said that the superuser app from the market isn't working. It says "there is a problem, would you like to download su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip" and when I do it's a 0 byte file so it doesn't flash.
I ended up googling the binary name and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828
And downloaded and flashed su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip
That worked, even though I'm on gingerbread now.
+1 to this. I read this and thought you did something else but this same thing happened to me. Same issue with SuperUser app, downloaded the one from the thread you linked and it fixed it. Kinda weird...
I Lost my google yesterday
Yesterday i was messing around with the tmobile theme chooser on my evo cm7 #40 and all the sudden i lost my phone icon and google maps and the market kept FC. i tried to restore a nandroid i had backed up on the 16th and when the restore came back up, google was still missing. It wouldnt even let me link my google account. it only gave me options of facebook, twitter and corporate accounts. i downloaded a gapps 1/20/11 i found on here and it let me sign in my google account and i got my contacts and gmail back, but market wasnt workin. This mornin i downloaded cm7 rc1 from rom manager and flashed the google apps from there and everything is fine now. but it was really weird what happened and all i did was downloaded cm7 themes from here for the theme chooser and i was switching back and forth . any ideas? phone is fine now, but im just wondering what had happened
It did it again. I flashed a Sense ROM that night to do the GPS fix and nandroided back and everything was fine.Yesterday (the day after) I went to take a screenshot and it said I didn't have root. WTF?
yesterday i install gmail and it lose root and recovery and cm7 and kill dog.
wat do?

Help installing ArmSense_XE_0.6.130 ROM

Noob alert. First post, first rom.
Thought it about time I had a go at hacking my Hero and thought I’d better start with a rom that seemed stable. I chose the ArmSense_XE_0.6.130 Android2.3.5+sense3.5 on this forum.
Root and install of the custom recovery was painless.
Flashed this rom and all seemed well. The first thing I thought I’d try was maps, as I want to check gps functionality, but no maps app to be found. I then remember reading in this forum that custom roms rarely contain the Google apps. I found, downloaded and flashed the 20110828 version of gapps (in the same way as I flashed the initial rom, but without doing a wipe first, I hope this is right).
Still no maps. I know they can be downloaded from the market (play), but the market app seems to fail. When I select it the screen goes white for a few seconds and then returns without displaying any error. Not wanting to give up I visited play via the browser, but this would not let me download directly to the phone either, as it reported that I must use the phone app to visit the site first.
I’ve obviously visited the market many times before on this phone, and am sure I set my Google account up properly during the setup. (though googlemail has changed to gmail during the time between I originally setup the phone and now).
The upshot of all this is that I have these questions:
Generally have I done the right things?
Should I have the maps and come to that gmail, which I now notice is also missing?
Any ideas on the problem with the market app?
And lastly, I was sort of expecting the same clock as shown on the op of the ArmSense_XE development thread be the default, but this is not the case. I quite like it. What is it and where does it come from?
Restored to my original stock 2.1 configuration for now.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
The ROM you choose is far from being stable, that's why it's marked with the version ArmSense_XE_0.6.130.
Please check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343988
I'm using the SHPONGLE v3.5 and I'm quite satisfied.
M
Thank you for the advice. Downloading it now.
I have the right gapps package I guess and will need to add it to this rom too?
Cheers
Hi,
The ROM already have gapps light, meaning that you can register your account and access Google Play.
Then you can download the apps you need like Maps, Youtube, Gmail, whatsoever...
M
Got it working now.
Apart from a little niggle with the lock screen (probably me being unfamiliar) it all seems very fast and smooth.
Thank you for your advice.
SHPONGLE v3.5 is by far the fastest 2.3.7 on Hero in my (very fresh) experience.

[Q] App downloads from Google Play Store freeze/don't start downloading

Hi there!
I'm having big issus the last three days with downloads from the Google Play Store on my i9505.
I was using Jamals Google Edition ROM v3, everything was fine. Then, just like before I did a wipe data/factory reset using PhilZ advanced CWM and installed v5. This was the first time I faced problems in the Google Play Store.
Apps just downloaded some kilobytes and then froze but some apps downloaded properly. Some other downloaded, froze, downloaded again and showed an error message when finished.
With a little bit of patience and some tries I could download all the apps that I needed (cancel and start the download again).
Today I updated to v6 of Jamals Google Edition ROM and the problems were still the same. I tried to clear the data and cache from Google Play Store app and restart the device but nothing fixed the problem.
So I thought maybe a complete reset the Samsungs original software could do the job. So I flashed through Odin an original ROM I have on my computer (I9505XXUBMF8_I9505OXABMF8_I9505XXUBMF8_HOME.tar).
Now problems got even bigger... I'm not able to download ANY update/app from the store. It always sais "Starting download..." and nothing happens. I also tried to clear the data/cache from Play Store app, too. Now I have no idea how to go on with this problem because I couldn't find this case on the web/other possibilities to fix the problem.
Any idea?
This happens on my I9500 also, which solved it by wiping the whole thing and started over..

Thanks for your quick respond. But what do you concretely understand by wiping "the whole thing"? I thought reinstalling a stock ROM from Samsung is most you can do to come as close as possible to a delivery status.
*edit: Now after the fresh installation of the latest stock ROM from Samsung I also did a hard reset. Downloads do start again but none of them is getting finished. Mostly they freeze at 80% progress or so.

I usually get this problem when I have too many apps in queue for download. I usually cancel most of them and let it update 2-3 at a time and eventually end up getting all of them installed. This message as the only way I could get them all done.

Jeah I thought about this as well but I can't even download one single application.
