First off, I'm no developer. So, I could be way off.
Anyway, I picked up my Incredible on launch day and got a temp number assigned to the phone because I was with T-Mobile. Today, I had my number ported over. When I did that, my phone stopped working. Basically, I needed to re-program the phone. I saw that *228 is how it is done.
Needless to say, when I started to reprogram process the phone had a status window that said "unlocked SPL". Would this be some sort of window of opportunity for rooting or installing an unsigned ROM?
SPL unlock

All phones go through this step. It's about programming the phone with Verizon wireless towers. It has nothing to do with a root opportunity. Some phones will go other details during the programming process.

Hi all,
Thanks a lot for helping and this forum is really very very helpful.
I have a EVO 4G and I 'm trying to flash my phone to Boost for the past 7 days and it has been more than 30 hours of my valuable time.
I can buy more than 7 phones with the money that I make if I put that many hours on my work.
But it was merely for the learning purpose, that I invested my time on this HTC EVO thing.
I do not know, I did many things with my EVO.
Tried to follow different guides.
But my EVO screen says
Revolutionary ( in pink background )
SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.16.1002
MICROP-041f
TOUCH PANEL-AMTELC03_16ac
RADIO-2.15.00.05.02
Mar 8 2011,17:02:15
So, I guess there might be some problem with the software versions or something on my phone.
My question is is my Phone still good for flashing?
And my basic question is does Flashing on HTC EVO 4G work?
Because I tried different ways and still I'm confused.
May be if anyone helps on this forum, I can give money to them. There will be a yield point for anything in this world and I have reached that.
I should not waste more time than this on this flashing thing.
Otherwise, I will stick to my iPhone and I will get the latest iPhone5 by signing a contract.
Its clear , its better not to waste more time on this.
Any one who helps me, I will pay him.
No cheating straight business.
I will pay only after i get what I need on my phone otherwise, please do not waste both of our times.
Thanks,
A J.

You tried this method in this forum?
Your Bootloader screen is fine, it is supposed to say all that info. Your Hboot is 6.16 because you rooted with Revolutionary, no biggie. If you would like to connect through teamveiwer I can have your phone flashed pretty quickly, I can either do it for you or walk you through the steps and let you do it yourself. If security is an issue please feel free to ask around about me, I have helped quite a few other members flash their phones to boost also.
First follow the steps in the directions I PM'ed you last night. Then push ##123456# (123456 is your MSL/SPC in this example)on your Evo and enter your phone number and hit ok, then enter your MSID and hit ok. That will reboot the phone and attempt to OTA activate, let it do its thing. Than once it is activated go ahead and skip update PRL and Profile (wont work yet until we change a little more info anyways) Connect to QPST service programming and change profile 0 and 1 NAI (username), HA key, and AAA key. This is all you need to get on Boost...
PM me if you get stuck or have anymore questions, hope this helps!

Hi Klone83,
Thanks a lot for the information.
I did exactly told by You.
But here I got an error when I click write to phone.
NV write errors
Any help is highly appreciated.
Dear All,
I write to inform you that i finally solved my GT-I9300 'Not Registered on Network' problem. I decided to make this official announcement so as to assure others, most especially those who have tried almost all the tricks and steps found on this and other forum on the subject that all hope is not lost.
May be if i shed more lights on the problem which i encountered, and i suppose many other people, you will understand me very well. First, i did the upgrade through Samsung Kies and after the phone rebooted, it lost link to network. I called Samsung and chatted online with the Customer Service, i was asked to send the phone to South Africa where i bought it. I called South Africa and also chatted but they could not understand let alone solve the problem. I headed to XDA and other forum to find solution, I tried all versions of ARIZA Patch, none work. I tried all modified ROM, yet no solution. At one point, the problem became complex. The phone moved from not registering on network to 'Factory Mode'. I followed many other steps, but could not get past restoring it back to User mode. I gave up after a month and bought another phone.
My son shocked me last Friday when he said that it will be his first time of seeing me accepting that some problems cannot be solved. I mused over it and told myself that i will rather destroyed the phone totally than giving him the impression that i cannot solve the problem.
I got out my two computers - Mac and PC and reformatted them all. Installed ODIN and downloaded a 4.3 Stock ROM. I then began searching everywhere for any clue as to what went wrong with the phone. My research is simple; the PHONE could not register simply because the IMEI and Serial Number were wrong. My IMEI and S/N moved from 0000 to unknown. After reinstalling through KIES, it came back from unknown to another wrong numbers.
I finally decided to go inside the phone by activating everything on ODIN and see if i can get the wrong EFS on the phone wiped away and left empty. I repartitioned, wipe EFS, etc. and the only thing the phone did was to move from unknown to another incorrect IMEI and Serial.
Finally, i read on a post that the problem is simply software, so i began searching if it is possible to repartitioned the phone completely and turn it into a toy. I recalled that about ten years ago, i successfully installed Nokia OS on Blackberry through a poorly concerted code designed by a friend. In so far i still have the code, I thought that i could do same with my GT-I9300. It won't work, sadly. But in the process of doing so, i realized that using SRS, i can do so comfortably. With this 20 USD software, i gained control of the internal organs of my phone and started out by wiping out the EFS first and with my EFS Backup, i re-wrote it back on the phone. That done, i expected the phone to work, but sadly it refused to register on network.
Not ready to give up, i went further to see what other options are available to me. I realized that i can actually re-wrote my IMEI and Serial number back to the phone. I tried it and after about an hour and almost three attempt, T-MOBILE surfaced on my phone and the GT-I9300 came back to life.
Altogether, i spent two unbroken days reading and reading and applying one step after another, one procedure after another till i finally got the phone back.
SRS can not only do this, but can take back your contract and locked phone from those shylock and give you your phone. It go inside your phone and show you all the codes that locked you to a particular network, etc. It can remove those useless codes that make your phone patented to a particular country and give you an international version. It can also turn your international version to a local one, if you so desire.
I do not know who designed this software, i however testify to its immense ability to safe you from Samsung's irresponsibility.
I am open to helping others and answering questions on GT-I9300.
I have since been enjoying my phone.
what's the short version of the story?

Going by the last lines, it seems this is the tl;dr version
"SRS can not only do this, but can take back your contract and locked phone from those shylock and give you your phone. Hi! As i understood i need to get SRS and after?
where is the SRS software ? can you post a link ?
Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum. A while back I found a phone in the gas station bathroom that I was working at. I kept it under the desk with a note and of course the camera watching it in case it disappeared without a customer picking it up. No one ever came for it and after 2 weeks (company policy) I took it home with me. Anyway, I've just been using it on my wireless internet and playing games, however my phone contract just ran out on my crappy verizon old flip phone and I want to go to straight talk and use this one.
So, I bought the Straight talk byop kit which includes a sim card for the phone, however, the SIM card that's meant for AT&T phones is too small for this one for some reason, however the TMobile one fits in it perfectly fine. The problem is that it's a tmobile sim card and I'm sure you all know that I need to unlock the phone to get it. So, last night I spent about 4 hours searching for ways to unlock it. I see it's possible to do it for free using the system settings phone codes, but the code combinations don't seem to work for me.
*#0011# - When i key enter 1 it doesn't do what the video I was watching says it's supposed to do.
*#9090# - Restarts my phone after I hit the what I'm told to.
There's another I tried however, I can't remember the code, it takes me to the debug menu, however option 6 isn't there to give me access to phone options or whatever.
So, I gave up as my laptop battery started to waiver around 10% and went to sleep.
Now, today, I hopped on and attempted to figure it out again, but got bored really quick, stumbling accross the same stuff I tried last night, so I tried rooting it thinking that getting admin access to my phone would make option 6 appear when I entered that number. I was wrong, but hey, I successfully rooted my phone so it's cool.
Anyway, I just want the SIM card to work. I really don't care if I have to unlock my phone or whatever, I just want my phone to be able to make calls. So if unlocking my phone works, please help me, if there's a way to get the super small AT&T SIM card to work, then that's be great.
I'm sure you need some of my phone info to help me out so here we go.
It's a Samsung S4 on 4.3 firmware, rooted. It's an I337 and the baseband version says I337UCUEMK2.
If you need any other information to help me out, please feel free to ask. I tried calling AT&T already btw, they said without a phone number they won't provide me with an unlock code.

I honestly don't understand 90% of the words in that post... Is there a post or article that'll teach me the basics to rooting and unlocking? I'd really love to do custom roms and everything. I honestly thought when I rooted my phone it'd give me admin access and the hidden system management options would become open to me.
Anyway, hope you can help, my wife is getting on my case about getting it unlocked. If I don't have it done tonight, she's going to make me add the straight talk to a different phone instead of this one and I really don't want to use a cheap piece of junk straight talk phone.

I'm doing research on getting a custom rom installed right now, I'm looking at Carbon ROM. I guess I have another question, is there any roms that give me full access to system manager or whatever it's called when you enter those numbers?
Okay, I made an attempt to use your walkthrough, method 2. I went and downloaded odin, and tried to flash the mdl modem however they don't exactly explain in the walkthrough how to do that, I figured I'd take a hit at it and went to do it and odin says it failed.
Is there a walk through I can read through to find how to flash?
I'm not sure what safestrap is, I can't find it on my phone and google only brings up droid ones for me as far as I've seen. It sounds like if I get the mdl modem on my phone that because it unlocks the hidden options in system manager I just have to do that and use the system manager walkthroughs I've seen to go ahead and unlock it.
EDIT: Okay, I got safestrap installed, now I'm just trying to figure out how to get a different modem installed, any help there? I'm looking and asking around but I'm not seeing anything.
Hey there, first time poster , long time user of this site. I started using this site about four years ago when I needed help modifying a HTC one V, and from there on out I haven't been able to stop modding and rooting. This site has been so helpful, you have no idea
To date I haven't had many issues with the unlocking of boot loaders and rooting, installing roms and also network unlocking.....Until today.
I am currently trying to network unlock a Samsung s5 neo. I did indeed buy the unlock code from Koodo (the original service provider). However (heres where its going to get weird), no matter how many times I try putting the darn code in, it plain well just refuses to take it. I can sit here all day and nadda a thing will happen.. IN FACT I thought after 10 times it would hard lock its self, resulting in me having to buy a unfreeze code. But nupe.
I'v used 3 different sim cards to try to get this phone unlocked but nothing, Bell Mobility from my LG G5 phone, A PC mobile sim and a Eastlink sim (By the way I'm from Canada)
I tried flashing (odin) with koodo OEM roms, from the first one which i think was 5.1 up to 6.** not sure where it left off. Even went as far as flashing with Telus rom, as koodo is the sister of Telus, and still it sits there pretty much laughing at me.
Factory reset from both with in the OS and the recovery menu, used every code for the phone dialer and half refuse to work. Installed shortcut master (Yes I'm rooted) and keeps saying locked. Also been trying to sim unlock both unrooted and rooted.
I'm completely mind blowen, i even said what the heck and bought a code off line for kicks and sure enough as soon as it showed up in my inbox, same EXACT code Koodo gave me. So we know the code is right.
Any help would be great as I'm at a complete lost. this is the first phone iv had , i'v ever had this much troubles unlocking. OH and if it helps "KNOX" is disabled
P.S I have no idea if i posted this in the right forum , sorry if i didn't.
Thanks
Hi there guys,
I seem to have an issue, on my LG V20 H918 I order an unlock code. I figured out a method to make it prompt for the code and bypass the T-Mobile unlocking app all together, however, here's the issue.
I received Three codes in with the markers
NCK:8565570142041856
SPCK:9791172928931644
NSCK:2448289909387735
NOTE: Codes included because they do not identify me or my device directly.
First I entered NCK and got "Network unlock successful" and went on assuming that was the end to it, however, after rebooting it prompts me for the Network Unlock Pin again. After entering the same (NCK) I was this time told the unlock was unsuccessful, so I tried the other codes provided all with the same Network unlock request unsuccessful response.
So my ultimate question is, what the you suppose the first success did and how can I finish the job? If it weren't for me figuring out how to access manual code entry, I wouldn't have spent money on this code.
How I accomplished bypassing the unlock app and getting a unlock prompt was by flashing AOKP and booting with a unauthorized SIM card, I'm just confused because what did that first successful unlock do? Why would it prompt me for the unlock code again and not accept the first successful code. I'm not sure if my device is unlocked or not at this point considering that, is it possible that the initial successful unlock enabled another band to be used in an unlocked state or even unlocked the device just the app does another step I'm failing to do manually to finalize this unlock.
I'd appreciate your opinions and advice in this situation, I personally feel like this might lead to something or either I'm running into a dead end another individual has also.
If you pay for it on like an installment plan you have to pay it off completely before you can unlock it. They keep it locked so you don't just do a promo and leave to someone like AT&T.

I'm not actually sure what the status of this device was, I bought it 3rd party from an Ebay seller. Any speculation on what the first "Unlock request successful" did if anything?
No idea unlocking phones isn't my specialty. But possibly the phone is blacklisted which is making it hard to unlock. Honestly what I'd do is take it to a T-Mobile store and ask them what's up.

Tried giving them a call, they appear to get very rude when they hear the word "unlock" which is sad, I take it they don't particularly care for people getting device unlocks? She hung up on me and the other agent just completely shut me off, she tried to offer me a contract but no further details which is really irritating.
That's unlike their service. It's possible you called at a bad time. More mid day is when they're as helpful as can be. I would take it to a store if possible and just tell them your situation I've done that before and they bent over backwards for me at my store.

Unfortunately, nothing more. Still haven't managed to figure out exactly what it did, I did discover that the phone does not have money owed on it.. Not entirely sure what the chock this up to really. I cannot replicate the results to investigate with logcat, I know that my attempts didn't permanently lock my device thankfully.
