i think this topic's been asked before... so you could theoretically search for it.
nevertheless, here's the Music.apk
just push it to your /system/app or /data/app directory.

Download filesusing stock browser

Hi to everyone, I would like to know if there is a way to download file from internet ( mediafire, etc) using the stock froyo browser.. it keeps. Saying me that the content cannot be managed by the browser. If I use dolphin hd everything works fine. But I want to use the default browser, so there is a solution? thanks in advance

Just download bytetornado in the market. Allows u to download any file extension using the stock browser, im using that..
Download astro file browser. It integrates into the stock browser giving you the ability to download anything.
Yeah i use Astro too. I can now download from rapidshare/megaupload .etc... and then use Astro to open them up. Good combo
Thanks to everyone... do you think that in 3.0 Rom will be implemented in stock browser the possibilities to download every kind of files?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Well, if you have a rooted N1, the stock browser in CM6 allows you to download any file type. I think Enom 2.11.x also does the same...
Stock CM6 recent nightly here, downloading files without any market file explorers.
Plus it's awesome. Serious.
My Custom ROM downloads any file as well. More info can be found here

Gallery 2D apk

So I found this APK here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750292
Question is, can I just rename or freeze "Gallery3d.apk" under system/app and place this APK and then install it via Astro on our phones to use the older 2D gallery?
i REALLY don't like the 3D gallery.. and before I go borking up my phone I wanted to check.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Ok.. so that didn't work. Any ideas?

Why not just remove the old gallery.apk from system/apps and put the new one there?

Wrong forum.
Thread moved to General.
My bad about wrong forum.
Is replacing the apk with the new one after renaming it any different? From swapping them out? The one on my phone is named gallery3d.apk. the one I want to replace it with is gallery.apk
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I don't think you need to rename it. Just move gallery3d.apk to the sdcard in case you need it then put gallery.apk in system/apps and see if your phone recognizes it.

Nope. Didn't work

Hm. Are you running a deodexed rom? If so, is the gallery.apk (2d gallery) a deodexed version of that app? If it isn't then it would be incompatible.
i am running deodexed .. gotcha.. this is all still new to me. Thanks.. Now the hunt is on for a deodexed 2d gallery.apk.
=)
I posted a thread in APPS section about this very thing, someone replied but I have yet to try it out honestly, been sick/busy, if it helps.

this is not a leak of official Music Player from ISC
read in about the app, it says google Music beta 4.xx.
its a new google music beta only, "Leak"

[Q] [ROM] Cyanogenmod 7.1 for Motorola Milestone 2 (Android 2.3.7) - TEZET

Refering to this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338183
Can´t post in there for forum rules (10+ message).
I´m using the rom with Endless7 patch and I´m facing a very annoying problem:
Everytime I "dock" the phone, when I remove it, all the music won´t be accessed (mp3, ringtones created with Ringdroid).
I have to unmount SD and the mount it again to get everything working back.
Anyone knows anything about this or had some similar problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Well, it seems that its not only when I dock. It happens without a particular reason.
Can't access music thought music player or ringtones creator. I can find the music but it generates an error message when I try to play it.

I have the same problem :/

Music Not Showing Up In Library

I Just got my Nexus back,
Rooted, restored backup and flash a oc kernel,
Transferred one album over which did show in library and play music,
But after a reboot the music album doesn't show up in library anymore also
Tried another music player which also doesn't see my songs,
I can manually browse the music folder using file exploere and play them
One by one but switching to browser kills the music,
Anyone else experience this issue???
Just noticed this same issue on my wife's Nexus 7 - movies don't show up in the movie app and music doesn't show up on the music app. I can see - and play - music and movies via ES File Explorer.
Unlocked, rooted and stock rom/kernel. Was working just fine until today I think, first time she mentioned it anyways.

Have you updated Rom manager ? There was a bug 2 releases ago which put a nomedia file in the root of your device.
Search for .nomedia and delete it. Also update Rom manager to the newest version

Makes sense - will check this out when I get home tonite.
Weird, no .no media in root. Took a screen shot and the new picture showed up so don't think it's a .no media issue...

Bump for more info...
I'm having the same issue as the OP... it happened most recently after the ROMmanager update and was resolved after updating RM again.
Now it's happening again, but ROM manager is up to date. I have a dinc running Albinomans JB rom, but I've also had the same issue with it running CM7's, so I don't believe it has anything to do with the ROM. My pictures and music will not show in the stock gallery or music app, but I can access them from Root Explorer. I also do not show "on device" music using the Play Music app.
I did a search using Root Explorer for ".nomedia" and there are a ton of results. Is there one in particular I should be looking for (by file path, for example)?
