controlling the Universal via a PC

Hi, I'd like to control my HTC via my PC. I already have used the Microsoft remote display control host, but it's limited to QVGA, and doens't do VGA very well. Anybody knows where I can find a VGA version? TIA!

Microsoft remote display control host works on VGA as well. I've managed to set it up on Universal and it looks great now, except it is a little slow. There's nice free workaround available on net. Another option is to set up a VNC server on your PPC and access it from anywhere on the net by any VNC client like tightVNC...
Thanks guys, I went with the SOTI pocket controller pro and I'm thrilled. It even does video recording and macros!
Fundy: out of curiosity, how did you get VGA to work on MS remote display control ?

VNC

If you just want something to mess about with, then "Remote Display Control for Pocket PC" by Microsoft is a free powertoy.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/wce/downloads/ppctoys.mspx#ELD
You run one program on the Hermes and one on your PC, and they link up over USB.
If you have Black 2.0 then the Hermes part is already on the ROM, you just have to run it.
He asked for VNC, so let's give him VNC...

Remote client ?
Hi.
Do you want to take control of a remote computer ? :
https://www.kckenterprises.com/WM6RDP.cab
or to display the X1 on the computer?
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...7AA-AB28-6A2B006EDFE9&displaylang=en#filelist
This is for 2003 but you can follow this method , that works for me.
1. Install Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys.
2. Copy C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys\ActiveSync_Remote_Display\devices\wce400\armv4t\cerdisp2.exe and C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys\ActiveSync_Remote_Display\devices\wce400\armv4t\KillProc.exe to \Windows on the mobile device.
3. Run ActiveSync Remote Display on the PC and click OK to the error.
4. Choose Yes when the mobile device asks you if you want to run cerdisp.exe

so which one is better of those 2 for controlling PCs? Also read of RemoteTouch and z2 Remote2PC....
so which is the best?
anyone??? any siggestions? none?
Remote Desktop work for me!!
But you do have to know your way around a router or vpn connection!!
I have heard the various remote access client work good.
But you have to run the Host software to establish a connection to Remote Hosting site!
So this can be a hassle for a few of my clients.
But since the Remote desktop is built-in to Window servers and desktop OS's. This makes a bit easier in this area.......
So it just really depends on your needs and uses!
