T9 /XT9 does not seem to work for searching the Contacts?

Have just upgraded to a HTC Cruise. I was used to search my contacts with
T9 with my old "Breeze". Nevertheless which Keyboard I use while I am in the Contacts, I does NOT use T9/XT9, nevertheless I enabled it in the Options for each possible Keyboard. I no longer get Concact-names predicted while typing on the keypad! That worked perfectly with my Breeze. Some way of enabling this (or makes the Cruise an indexing which takes 3 weeks?) It mysticly works, if I change to SMS mode, there T9/XT9 works correct for common words. The Problem is, that I have over 700 Contacts and the reason I rebought a HTC, is because of the possibility to search my contacts without pen, but with T9.
Can anybody help, PLEASE???

New mail preview problem

I have setted up my two account with no problem.
I can receive the email and displayed in preview, but... when I tap on the screen to open the mail... nothing... the mail seems to be tapped (the graphical effect of the sheet bounced back) but the mail still no opened.
I have to select "All" in the left bottom of the screen and go to Windows Mobile "core" to manage the account and mail.
This problem is popped out two days after i have take my Leo, the first two days all worked good.
I think I have setted some things that I have to "not touch".
Any ideas?

This is a known issue, which you would have found, had you searched the forums.
Open the start menu and lock your phone with the bottom left softkey. Then, when you unlock the phone the problem will be gone.

Well, I dont know what happened but now it works.
I tried uninstalling some applications but it didnt change anything so maybe it got something to do with a registry tweak or the hebrew cab on our devices.
anyway strange thing is that today it started working again but pretty slowly - it takes about 5 seconds till it opens the mail.

the workaround that have described johncmolyneux worked great for me!

Issue when texting with Google android messages (Or whatever it's called today)..

So I have another bug that MAY have started after the Nougat update.
I use Google Android Messages for sms and GBoard for my keyboard...
Lately when i'm texting to someone, when I go to reply to a text (maybe when the text thread is already open?) my keyboard doesn't work and I have to hit the back button which makes the keyboard go away then click on the message box to activate it again so it will work.
Is anyone else having this issue? Any fixes found?
I've tried clearing cache on both apps, this didn't fix the issue for me.

Stickers will not download using Messages- tried everything I could find on the web

Ok this is really dumb but...
First of all, OS 8.1 with all updates. I have TWO Essential phones identically configured. One does NOT have this problem.
There are TWO ways to access stickers: gBoard and Messages
Let's look at Messages as that is what does NOT work:
Go into Messages
Select ANY message and tap the PLUS sign to the left of the words "Text message"
You will see that the keyboard has been replaced ROWS of various items.
The second row is Camera
The third row is GIF search
AND if you scroll the FOURTH row is stickers. Swipe left until you see the "3 dots" and tap them.
You will now see a new page and at the bottom the word DOWNLOAD. Tap it.
On one of my phones it downloaded more stickers.
On the PROBLEM phone it provides the following message: "Still downloading. You may need to check your Internet connection." THIS is MY Problem.
I have performed the following steps.
Cleared the cache
disabled the app
rebooted
enabled the app
tried again - same issue.
Lots of stuff is out there regarding gBoard. This is NOT a gBoard issue. You can disable gBoard and you still have a Messages keyboard and still have the option to download.
gBoard stickers work fine.
Your recommendations are appreciated.

GBoard dictionary pop-up problem on Textra only

Hello all. After a recent round of updates, the GBoard dictionary pop-up keeps coming up when I tap a misspelled word in the Textra app. This never used to happen and I have made no changes to any settings.
It also doesn't happen in any other app. I've tried Gmail, Twitter, several browsers, two diary apps, Discord, anything that I can type into, and I never get this pop-up, it only happens on Textra.
Textra has said this is an Android or a GBoard problem and not anything on their end. I've updated every app and have done a hard reboot, which usually fixes these little "quirks" that happen from time to time, but it's still there.
Any ideas? I'm new so I'm not able to post a screencap of the pop-up but I hope you know what I'm talking about.
