[SOLVED] Cannot Update Market Enabler

So here is my problem. I have been running the latest Cyanogenmod (4.2.14.1) on my HTC Magic 32A, with Market Enabler v3.0 (I think, could be up to v3.2). The other day I tried uninstalling Market Enabler, and upgrading to v3.8. I deleted the existing Market Enabler files manually (/system/sd/app/com.androidiani.MarketEnabler.apk) and the corresponding dalvik-cache file, then rebooted and tried to install Market Enabler v3.8
Now when I try to install Market Enabler (I've tried v3.0, v3.2, and v3.8), I get this error: "MarketEnabler could not be installed on this phone"
I've checked in the applications management screen, and Market Enabler does not show up there. I even reflashed my cyanogenmod ROM and formatted my cache and dalvik-cache, and it still won't work. I have run out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I ended up running $ adb uninstall com.androidiani.MarketEnabler again, (which previously resulted in "Failure"), but this time it actually worked. Now I can install MarketEnabler again.

[Q] Xperia Arc Crash / Restart Problems with Certain Apps and Wifi

Hello to everyone. I got my phone 3 days ago. And tried root thing a few times. Its my first android phone by the way.
My problem is my phone always crashes on certain apps.
Especially HD games like need for speed. And when i use Wifi like 20 min or what.
My model number is LT15i.
Android Version 2.3.2
Done the root thing a few times with gingerbreak.apk. Always succeesed.
I have tried unrooting then reisntaling firmware with Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0 , but didnt help me. Then rooting again. Worked but didnt solve hd games problem.
Tried using phone without Micro SD card that came with the phone. .. Didnt solve....
Please help me , i dont wanna send my phone to service because i bought it from another country..

rooting alone doesn't change anything.. it just gives your access to change stuff.. is your phone getting hot?
if you're not going to change anything once rooted then I wouldn't bother rooting.

I have installed Android System Info app to be able to see the error log.
Here is what i save for 2 games. One is Need For Speed , The Other Is Fruit Slice log.

Also chrashes on Air Attack HD which is a really cool game. After 1-2 min.

In fact im sure it isnt about memory card. But i have ordered a new memory card which is class 10. I will tell u the results.
BTW i did install '' SD Speed Increase'' and bost it tı 2048 kb. And i could play Air Attack HD may be for 10 mins and i just finished my FIRST race in Need For Speed Shift without any crash. But it did crash on second race again

I have installed logcat and i realized when a game crashes, it always gives this error.

Google Play Store force closes on Q

Hey there, so I am running my Q rooted, SU and SuperUser installed. I navigate with a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I adb start the trebchet launcher as described in other threads, and it works great.
I cannot get Google Play store to work. As soon as I open it force closes, with no error. I have cleared cache/data, unistalled, resintalled lastest version. Tried clearing Google Service Framework, still no go.
Is there something I can use to log the event to try and diagnose what's causing the fc?
I have installed some other apps like es file explorer, gmail, tune in radio, chrome, youtube, that all work fine.

When I did this on my Q with the same issue I just installed the play store nothing else. I didn't know if gapps would break any of the other default features of the Q.

I just installed the play store apk. Was I supposed to install gapps?

Just took the latest ICS gapps from here: goo.im/gapps

Maybe I arrive a little later, but I encounter the same problem with the lastest play store (4.0.26).
In my recovery I clean all the cache + dalvik, then reinstall gapps but not improvement

same goes here.
4.0.26 same issue. Revert to old Google Play, Clear cache + dalvik, reinstall gapps doesn't help.

How to get xposed running properly on LG (Lollipop) roms

Background
So xposed foor lollipop is here but there are a few problems like apps that keep crashing.
So I made a flashable zip to remove those apps and to get xposed running.
So as the title says this is in how to guide
Flash the xposed zip and install the app from here(BOTH ZIP AND APP)
Flash my zip
Warning
Exposed is an alpha so it will be buggy and not all modules work
This will delete lg quickcover the quickcircle case will still turn the screen on but nothing more...
This will also delete lg weather

Thanks for the workaround, but isn't there any way to keep the LG Cover app ?
If you have any idea on what needs to b modified/changed for the app to work, i'll try it and make a zip for it if it works, i just spent some time on my logcat and I think the files provided by Xposed is missing the classes being called by the cover.

Could you upload your log here, I will try to fix it next week probably, I need to work now. This was just an quick workaround so that I wouldn't find posts in every rom thread about xposed breaking phones and people complaining about it in the wrong place. (my ocd wouldn't allow it)

Try freeze the lg cover app and see if it works I have the same issue but I was runing out of time for more test

That might be a cause, but why this, and the weather app specifically?!
My first guess was that the libs modified/replaced by the Xposed zip are compiled from the open source of Android, if LG added the Smart Cover classes to these libs then they'll not be in the Xposed version of them, which means we will need to decompile them and check,if so, then include the code in the libs provided with Xposed, but that's a worst case scenario.
Does Rovo usually take device specific cases in mind like this one? maybe he can shed some light on why this happened!
I don't think its an ART/Dalvik thing, but i'll see if I can flash the LG Cover app from a Kitkat rom.

UPDATE : I froze it using Titanum Backup ( kept hitting OK on the FC dialog and navigating my way around between OK hits ) then rebooted, no FC's for now and the WeatherPlatform FC only showed once when the device first booted.

Looks like they have a sticky service which is very nagging and eager to start over and over again.

Just freeze LGSmartcover before flashing Xposed zip.
Not great if you use smartcover.

freeze LGsmartcover will affect to smartnotice and weather etc, tested on Crash ROM v.2.1

... The best way to get Xposed running - is to send these logs to Rovo.

Thanks, i'have used Your zip and uninstaled LG apps (i did not use them any way), instaled xposed and intelly 3G module and it Works.
Funy enough xposed steal says it's not installed properly but intely 3G module i use is working properly!

in meantime i have freezed smartcover and IT DOES WORK.
if cant live w/o your smartcover then dont install the Alpha yet till the fix gets implemented!
did not freeze the Weather component persoanlly, just 1-2 erros upon boot up and thats it unlike the smartcover error which constantly pops up.

So freezing works, will modify my zip to freeze ze them asap. and if O recall correctly the lgcover app had some kind of protection (see the developers only section) maybe xposed modified art then it modify the apps to work with the new art, but since the protection it couldn't modify lgcover? I need to go to work now but Soon as I am back I will reupload the new zip

NG3 Unable to Download Files through Any Browser?

All right, I've made some progress on this thanks to fellow users since I posted a Q&A thing on here in June, but I'm still running into some issues.
Here's the deal, my Nook Glowlight 3 has been succesfully rooted and I've installed RelaunchX. But there's this weird problem where any time I try to download a file through any web browser either the browser crashes or the download silently fails. I've now tried, aside from the built-in browser, Firefox, Fennec, Lightning, and Opera Mobile (sorta, that last one doesn't even open on the NG3).
One of the first suggestions I got was to install DownloadProvider.apk and put DownloadProvider.odex into /system/priv-app/ (found in this thread, though you'll have to search a bit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...light-plus-t3230323/post74473833#post74473833). Took a little messing with adb to get both files into the folder, but even after succesfully putting it there, the issue persists.
I've got a logcat of where it seems to be failing. You can find what I'm hoping is the relevant bit here: (EDIT: this is likely useless as Firefox later proved to just be crashing on its own without trying to download anything)

Just tried sideloading a third-party download manager, but it didn't do anything when I tried downloading.

Thanks RyogoNA! This put me on the path. Since the post you linked to points you in the general direction (but needs some slight modification to work), I'm summarizing the findings here:
The following steps will allow you to download files (though the default download location is a little unintuitive). Your device needs to be rooted for this to work:
Download and install Root Explorer from your app source of choice
Open the following zip file: http://su.barnesandnoble.com/nook/piper/4.2/1.45/update.zip
Find Downloadprovider.apk and Downloadprovider.odex in /system/priv-app/ of the zip archive
Copy both files to your nook
Use root explorer to move both files to /system/priv-app/. (Root explorer is especially good for this job as it can easily mount the system folder as writable, which is a PITA to do otherwise)
This gave my Nook Touch 3 the ability to download files.

Now for bonus points - does anyone have idea how to change the default download location? It seems to be going to a folder far away from the default one that mounts when I hook the device up to my comp via USB. Once I download a file and then search for it, it appears in the following places:
/data/media/0/Download/
/mnt/shell/emulated/0/Download/
/mnt/sdcard/Download/
/storage/emulated/0/Dowload/
I'd ideally like to send downloads to somewhere in the main folder the nook can see itself and that computers can see when you hook it up via USB, /storage/spsd/NOOK/.
Solutions I've tried:
Using ES File Explorer to change it, but that only seems to work when you use their download manager, which has a strange habit of vanishing from the system at odd times.
Using the Lightning browser and specifying this as the folder. This seems to cause the download to just fail.
