Thanks man, I had this on my list of TP2 cabs to test on the HD2, and yeah I notice the issue even more on my HD2 than I did on my TP2.
Thanks!
Installed already. Which foot should I kiss?
Thanks. Into the kitchen it goes
what does this modify?!?
I'd like to know what this actually does for blue tooth sound. Any takers?
thanks.

Could you please explain exactly what this mod does?
I have notice that when you turn down the volume while speaking,
it first removes the high frequencies of the incoming sound, which is a bit
retarded in my view since those are the easiest to hear when in nosier situations.
I would think that when you turn down the volume, it turns down not reduces the high frequencies then turns down.
sorry went off tangent there, does this .cab fix that? or am i totally off?

Hi all.
I've searched everywhere and as yet I have found NO way to INCREASE the volume during an incoming-call. Even with the scroll wheel on the side full up maximum, the volume I feel should be at least 50% higher.
So, does anyone have a tested, successful way to increase in-call volume?
Thanks,
Matt.
Try Spb Mobile Shell
What I wrote did not work. Thought it did. So, just deleted to not confuse others. Sorry.

I was having the same problem. The sound was too low even when setting was high. I installed Spb Mobile Shell 2 and under their sound profile setting, raise both volumes (speaker, earpiece) to 100% and then the phone will sound loud. Hope it helps. First try the demo before buying it and see if it works for you. maybe its just in my head, but the sound is much louder for me now.

Haven't tried it, but sound volumes is a function of SPB Phone Suite, not Mobile Shell.
Try this one

I will correct myself, the sound preferences in SBP doesn't do anything. No change in sound volume. Sorry. I will try the .cab above. Thanks.
Okay, I am a NEWBIE. I have the HTC P3600 with original WM5 ROM. And yes the IN Call Volume in my phone is freaking low too!! I did downloaded the volume.cab from link above and installed it in my Trinity. It shows in Add and remove Programs so I know it installed. BUT It does not seems to make my in call volume louder. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong??? Am I supposed to have a different ROM before installing this volume.cab? Thanks.
Try this
It used to work on my wizard and on a prophet. Don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with the Trinity.

The in-call volume on my Wing isn't cutting it for me. I do a lot of work outside and it's difficult to hear with all the background noise from cars and construction etc..[cons of living in a big city]
I searched the forum but didn't find anything specific to the Herald. I tried the other registery edits but they didn't seem to have any effect.
bump anyone??
BUMP!-----
Ok, try this tweak to increase the phone's In-Call volume: Using a registry editor (like PHM RegEdit), navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\Shell Overrides\Find the SavedInCallVolume value, and open it.
Switch the base to Hexadecimal
Change the Value data to "FFFFFFFF" (eight capital F's)
Restart your phone (by holding down the power button). Now when it boots, your in-call volume should be louder. Tell me if you think it worked!!!
Hi. It didn't work for my P4351. But thank U.

The registry that I just posted right above yours works fine on the Wing, which your phone basically is, I think. But, it can vary from which ROM you are using.
any suggestion for decreasing the volume. Waayyy too loud on my Touch Pro.

When talking on the phone, tell the person on the other end that you'll be right back. Now, turn your phone so that you can see the left side. Press down on that volume slider a few times. Bam, you got your volume down!
And try posting in the Touch Pro forum next time.

Well, first of all, this is not the Touch Pro forum, though I thought that one is fairly obvious. I will concede that a registry edit for the volume is very common between Windows Mobile devices, but if I were to post Wing issues in the Touch Pro forum, I would be flamed almost immediately. Sorry if I came off as a **** earlier, but there are different forums for a reason. If everyone just posted common problems between devices wherever they felt like, pretty soon everything would be unorganized. Then when I wanted to search the Herald forum for something specific, results would come up with other phone's problems.
Does anyone know how to get the startup sound working on the Titan? I've been banging my ahead against this one for awhile. I created a new splash screen for my ROM and it is pretty lacking without the audio that I made for it.
It seems like the audio for the StartupAnimationEngine.dll just doesn't work on this device. I need help.
I disassembled it, and it looks like it's calling:
WindowsPlaysnd in \Windows\PLAYSND.dll
Does anyone have a titan ROM with this file?
Thanks.

Bitserve this is what I did and the startup sound works.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
control panel
phoneExtendFunction
Cdma
FlightModeOnOff
under this registry EnableSound is set to 0
changed to 1 and your sound plays when it switches from one reload screen to the other.

This only enables the sounds for when you turn the radio for the phone on and off. This is not the sound I think he's talking about for the HTC startup animation.

Yes I figured that out. Thanks. I have been doing alot of searching for this for him. Still searching here and everywhere. Hope someone has this info. Had to turn phone part off yesterday and noticed that.
Thanks.
still nothing?
what about if we got the settings from say a moto Q or any other WM phone would it work?
I just got an HD2 2 days ago and enjoying it so far.
Except I have been finding that during most phone calls I hear a slight distortion in voices and have had to lower the volume about 2 steps to get it to stop. Anyone else finding this?
common issue, have this too :/. Speaker is just kind of bad. I find that even the lowest setting is loud enough, though!
Have you installed the latest ROM from HTC site?
Bad sound in the speaker freaked me out when I bought it, especially after using crystal-clear sounding Touch HD.
But After installing the latest ROM, it was gone.
It was not the distorsion, though, more like noise/static.

Which ROM did you have when you had the problem? And which ROM do you have now - 1.66?
Was the noise/static you refer to there during the whole duration of the phone call or only on some words (change of intonation of higher frequencies) while the other person was speaking?
Well, I have the latest ROM I found on the HTC/europe site. 1.48.479.1 (71294) WWE.
And I don't know which version was when I bought it.
The noise was during the whole duration of the call.
Hi,
I found that the distortion/static was in certain spoken words. I have the base ROM (1.49.71528) however the dang Australia HTC site is only showing 1 update with no ROM update downloads...shame the AU site has to be so behind the rest of the world with some showing more than 3 updates.
My HD2 is set to Telstra so I suppose I need to wait for a locally programmed ROM...funny how a ROM update can fix a hardware fault!

I also have slight distortion on some words only during phone conversations ... Did you really manage to stop the distortions by lowering the volume?? Even if I lower the volume they are still there ...

I lowered volume 2 steps & it got a bit better...I am really looking forward to an AU 1.6x new ROM! Wonder how long to wait???
Another one here with bad sound quality during calls. Some words saturate the speaker (or it seems like it).

I had this issue. There is a registry tweak for this and it works a treat. I can't remember what it was though. I'll do some research and come back to you.
I've just upgraded to the latest ROM 1.66.405.2 and haven't made a call yet to see if this ROM has fixed the issue, or whether I need to go back and do the registry tweak again.
Here's the registry tweak. Worked flawlessly for me
You can find a reg edit here to try: HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\inCall AND InCall2
Change the value of InitVol to "2" in both inCall and inCall2

I have that exact problem. I have sent my phone back for a replacement and the problem was still there, I have flashed several ROMs and the problem is still there. I am now on the latest ROM and it's still there. Because it only on some calls and only on some voices with a higher frequency I am trying to live with it.

Hey all,
New to the forum and first post!
Look forward to speaking and getting to know you all.
Question: Anyone having issues with the ringer volume?
Mine is set to Max but it's still so soft/low.
I can barely hear the phone in my pocket or jacket.
Any fix for this?
Thanks.
*added* - also vibrate is very weak!
Get a belt clip case to wear it, you'd look Sooo Cool

LOL! good idea!
but that won't help either.
if i can't hear my phone while it's in my jacket (pocket on the inside of jackets right where heart/below heart is). i doubt i can hear it on the waist!
is it only my phone or are there others out there with the same issue?
and before any smarty pants comments, my hearing is fine!
thanks!
Yep. Same here. Also the vibrate is horribly weak...
Sent from my R800x using XDA App
i use my own custom notification and ring tones, and have no problem, maybe someone with abit of time can put the stock tones through an audio converter and increase the volume
Here is what to do, (do exactly as I say before you say it did not work).
1- unlock your screen if it is locked
2- press home button (no mater what, just press it)
3- hold the valuem up for 10 sec
now it should be louder
Is there supposed to be any new / different notification after 10 seconds?

anyone else that can help?
=)
I had the same issue I fixed it though by getting this App Volume+ from the Market. Then I downloaded this other app Zedge from the marketplace and replaced my ringtone.
