X10 crashed with no access to google - am I that f*cked? - XPERIA X10 General

Greetings fellas,
I'm having big problems with my SE Xperia X10. After installing some Apps the phone got stuck and is unable to boot up - all I can see is a nice SE logo. Good Job Sony so far! Well lucky we have an update service that provides us with the newest firmware updates - oh wait, it just told me I do have the latest version - goodbye.
There is no f*cking option to re-install? Are you kidding me? WTF is wrong with guys over Sony F*ckinson? I don't have any option to visit a service provider as I'm not in the country where I have purchased the phone. So I decided to give it a shot and called the hotline - just to get some f*cktard telling me I should visit a local service point. After I told him that my f*cking service point is almost 4000 miles away from ma' current location he said I'd have to wait for a firmware update then.
Seriously f*ck this. What is wrong with this company? No hard reset available? Jesus f*cking christ. Is there ANY chance to get this phone back to live? Or do I have to buy a decent phone because Japanese Swedish Whateverdaf*cktards are unable to provide me with decent support.
This is so weird.

boot into the safe mode, uninstall ur apps or do a full factory reset...
shld work..
to boot into safe mode
Turn the phone off
Power the phone back on
When it vibrates, press and hold the left menu button until it boots up and says SAFE MODE in the bottom left corner of the screen

repair the phone by running pc companion

tnx fellas will try that! excuse my language, kinda pissed off.

PC companion does not recognize my phone, no matter what I do.
Safe Mode does'nt work, it wont boot.
FFS I just wanna re-install the current firmware, is it so hard Sony Tardisson?

when the update service says there is no update you can click continue, it will allow you to restore the phone

No.
The only option is "Quit".
Nothing more nothing less, just "Quit".

thats strage.
you may want to follow the debranding process it will at least help you get your phone started.

don't follow a debranding process.
use SEUS instead of PC companion. see if that helps.

Usng SEUS should be possible, I think there's an option just to install everything again, even if it says you had the latest software.
Tried that yesterday on mine and it works..

SEUS does not allow me to reinstall the firmware again, it just detects the latest software and that it's, just a "quit" button and nothing else to choose. PC Companion doesn't work aswell.
So debranding might be the only option?

Update available!!!!

My phone currently updating to version 7008 - needs update to Zune too which is downloading first.
Was on 7004.
Will let you know what happens!
I can't see any changes...
Also no saving of the changes you make in Camera or so on...
Is this the update before March Update!?
Yeah, this is just an update to pave the way for future updates. You'll find nothing new here.

Is the Camera any better...? could be into the realms of imagination here but took a photo and it seemed clearer than previous efforts on standard settings. Phone also 'seems' a little zippier.
Not totally sure so guess things aren't that different.
Backup worked nicely though.
Mine is in the process of updating. The backup process takes a while.
I wonder if we can use someone elses backup to restore a phone? I only ask because I flashed my UK T-Mobile device with the unbranded Samsung one because it was said that it fixed Bluetooth problems. However, it has had no effect, and now I can't take my phone back to T-Mo because it's not running the original firmware. If I can get it back to UK spec, then I can take it back to a shop and swap it for a (hopefully) working one...
Done. It is only a preparatory update for the actual update containing copy and paste, improvements to Windows Phone Marketplace et.al. Ergo, it doesn't contain any new functionality and won't remove or hinder any installed jailbreak functionality.
Yup, more playing, definitely no changes I can find...camera taking a better photo just happened to be a picture in better light.
This update has bricked my Omnia 7.
When I connected my Omnia 7 to Zune today, I was notified of an update. Zune updated itself and quit. I restarted Zune and it informed me there was an update for my phone. I clicked update now and it got to step 6/10 rebooting phone. The phone evenually rebooted and Zune reported the following:
RESTORATION ERROR
An error prevented the restoration of your phone to its previous version. Your phone cant be used in its present condition and there are no restore points for it on this computer. Thephone might restart and return to normal if you disconnect it. For further assistance, contact your mobile operator.

Thanks Microsoft, that's a really helpful message. NOT.
I have manually updated to the latest Zune, rebooted my PC, rebooted my phone, and I get the same thing every time.
THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH MICROSOFT. My Omnia 7 is now a brick.

Sorry about that. I was afraid of this happening to me, after the update stalled for an hour at the 7th step, so I disconnected. Luckily nothing happened to my device. But apparently several Omnia 7 are experiencing this.
Sort it out, MS.
First things first. I was updated Zune to the recent version, because I was curious it will resolve a problem with login user on one of my computers. One (Windows Vista) works fine, but another one, Windows 7 (both 32-bits versions) works fine with Zune + Market.

I've done the same. I have (branded) T-Mobile UK phone and decided update to unbranded one. I choose version I8700XENJK1 (but I tried another one before) - for me, one difference is language Dutch / Belgium if I remember correctly.
I've read this thread and I was wondering if my phone will find update... I had no information about this.
I return home, connect Omnia to computer and update process start immediately. I had no problem with update at all. Phone during update reboots twice (or more) and it looks stable. I haven't noticed any changes or improvements... maybe it's working a little bit faster, but maybe it's a auto-suggestion.

Have you got samsung tools installed?
I have tried twice to install the update. Both times I got stuck at 7 or of 100 with 100%.
The only thing I have done my phone is to unlock it with chevron.
Altough I did have it in flight mode at the time to prevent relocking.
Do you think that would have affected anything?
Still nothing showing up for me yet. Those who got the mini update does your 3 button combo into download mode now work if you had a phone that didnt let it happen before?

Three button combo now gives me the rather scary option to Format or Cancel. I thought Cancel would be the way to go....
Successful Updaters: Please post your Firmware revisions
For those who have managed to get the update installed without error, can you please post here your firmware revisions. We may be able to work out which models are affected by the issue.
There are rumours that this update only affects firmware versions JI9 and JJ4 while the JK1 firmware is unaffected.

Use super su, and un-root your phone with the option for un-root. Or just flash stock rom that's match your model.
I apologize but I have tried to give supersu superuser status although supersu would have those permissions from kingroot, it could not update it's binaries. When I did a full unroot with kingroot, my phone still was not allowed to receive over the air updates via wifi. About flashing a stock Rom I can reroot with kingroot but I cannot locate any stock Rom for this phone. I did a lot of research trying to find one. Can you please advise to as to where to go so that I can locate the stock Rom? Thank you.

Getting the stock firmware
I have searched that particular location and my model is SM-G530AZ and it's not found in that directory. I am at a checkmate. Unless I can use a firmware from one of the Grand Prime phones with a similar model but that to me does not make too much sense... Or maybe it does. But regarding my particular model it doesn't exist (or so it seems. Can one please come up with a solution? Flashing the Rom is the only option at this point so need download stock. Thanx everyone. ?.

Since your model is a dual with lte i guess you can use the 530h firmware. but i'm not sure.
My Model's Definite Firmware
Thank you very much for that info. But its not a definite so I wouldn't go ahead with it. I find it very interesting that for every other model of the Grand Prime there is a definete stock software available for the user. But when it comes to mine there isn't. So if anyone can possibly find it I'll be so happy.

I am facing the same challenge with my G530AZ model aswell. I am not even able to see my Network mode menu to change after realizing my device can not receive 3G signal only Edge. I located this menu after rooting to unlock my phone however it has completely vanished as I may put it. Any news on a compatible stock rom will be appreciated aswell.
Solution for reverting phone fully into stock (SM-G530AZ) & any other Samsung
I wasn't going to let Samsung Customer Service get away with not be able to give me info on how to get the code for emergency recovery mode using Samsung Kies. I got the Samsung Rep to tell me how to get the code in Kies all the time (in emergency recovery mode). Have the usb plugged in first without the phone connected to it. Then hold down the volume down key on your phone when it's OFF and after the volume down key is being held down, connect your phone to the USB while the Samsung Kies program is running. The code should show in Kies after that. Then go to the tools selection in Kies and click on the Recovery Mode option and you follow the further instructions. I didn't try this yet but I will very soon. I wrote this right after I got off the phone from the Samsung Rep. I really hope that this is a true method that works. If yes, cheers to all!
Sorry, can't be so trusting with Customer Service Rep of Samsung
I apologize for my previous post in a way. Well first of all this model SM-G530AZ (my model) isn't compatable with Kies as in that I got a message from Kies saying that. Therefore there was no way for me to know that the holding of the volume down method will generate the code for the emergency software reflash on this model. Finally, if that Rep was able to make that mistake I doubt whether it works for phones that are compatable with Kies.

Any luck on flashing the sm-g530az. I try most of the firmware from sammobile. But no luck. And, sm-g5630az firmware is not in Sam Moblie.
Only solutions I can think of...
Earlier in this forum a member said that you can possibly use the 530h firmware, being that they are basically the same firmware as ours although he said he's not totally sure. If Kies 3 and the newer version of Kies (the name slipped my mind, but the message pops up anytime one installs Kies 3 asking if you want to download it) don't work because a message comes up saying that the phone doesn't support initializing, maybe what that member said is the only possible option for right now. But now I'm thinking that you can do anything to your phone which will be "normal" looking as far as for the things which the customer service reps look for see if the phone was tampered with which voids the warranty, in a repair center they can wipe all from the phone and put stock software. But the issue with that may be that the binaries that are on you phone now may cause your phone to get bricked being that their software uses different binaries. This is when they plug it in by them the phone need to load to 100% and if it stops in middle the phone is bricked. So they told me that there is that risk. If you can fool them into trying to do that flashing process on your phone because they seem to think that the warrantee is intact and it doesn't get bricked, you are good to go (I visited a Samsung repair center and found this out being that I had issues with them). But in your case that may or may not be possible . Good luck.
Your instructions were slightly off. Here's what worked.
1) install KIES 3. DO NOT PLUG IN PHONE
2) go to tools -> firmware upgrade and initialisation in KIES
3) device id = SM-G530AZ ; serial number is under battery
4) allow KIES to download the firmware
5) place phone in ODIN mode/Emergency Download Mode (hold VOL DWN and HOME while powering on ) then plug in phone to computer via USB
6) allow KIES to send image to phone. Have some ice cream and egg rolls and do not touch anything.
7) PROFIT! After the phone restarts, it will take you through initial set up (like when you bought it)

s7 edge started to freeze, bootloop, stuck on logo etc

hi. i have a brand new phone s7 edge sm-935f to be more specific if this helps
got it in june. and now from a few days my phone started to freeze during gaming lets say that is a bigload or something and sometimes even when i wanna browse the gallery or even do simple stuff like calling someone..... i don`t know what happend...
this happend since i did the update on december? doesn`t matter the last big update.... i`m on forums 3 days now.... aand since this happend i knew that people are having problems like this... but still so i did the big damn update... and this happend
and now i`m trying to downgrade my phone... dld the firmware from sammobile? the site that everyone says... don`t know
i don`t know what to tell you more guys. i need some help i can`t do this on my one.
as i understand if i can enter in recoverymode blabla it`s not hard bricked? so that`s a very good thing so this means that this problem can be fixed.
i can load the phone by doing some forced resets.
i did hard factory reset.
i did try to flash stock firmware with odin... and kinda still nothing... after doing this i installed nfs no limits to test the phone and still the phone frooze and bam samsung logo we meet again.
i really don`t know what to do anymore.
does it has an importance if the phone came with " hungary firmware " and i dld the uk version ? maybe this could be the problem the language? don`t know
i need some help please i`m desperate.
thank you very much
p.s sorry for my bad english
edit1: didn`t root my phone didn`t try to install a custom thing on it, i started having this problems like 3-4-5 days ago after i did the last update in december can`t remember it.
edit2: dld the romanian (orange version ) gonna see if this works.... but after odin finished flashing the firmware i had to force restart the phone so it can boot... i quess this doesn`t work, i`m gonna dld the 2 versions of firmware of " hungary " and gonna try with those 2... will update when i`m done. in the meanwhile please tell me how i can fix this faster
edit3: i did manage to play a little bit of nfs no limits with this romanian (orange version ) but it frooze and restarted... i will try to install the hungary firmware and see then.
odin stock firmware, get TWRP, flash a custom rom, problem solved. If that dint solve it, you might have a hardware issued which means you are out of luck, need to send in the phone.
i really don`t want to loose my warranty by installing a costum rom on my phone....
as i know if i do that will **** up my waranty right?
any other suggestions?
You mentioned in initial post you would be trying certain stuff. What's the phone status now?
Try the APB1 of 2016.03.11 from SamMobile
phone status right now is still in the same status... tried to flash the 2 hungarian versions.. nothing.... even if it boots if i try to do something it goes in bootloop again... i`m trying to run an antutu benchmark....
some guy that works in a phone service place told me this: he things because of the update samsung rolled out the phone rams cpu is starting to break... because the update wasn`t tested enough,,,, don`t know what to say anymore. right now i don`t have time for the phone. i replaced it with other phone till next year then i`m gonna try to make it work again.

Hah, sitting in exactly the same boat as you after the last FW update, my thread is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/s7e-suddenly-bootlooping-dying-t3528827
up
any more suggestions?
or do i really have to go and change my mobo?
edit1: is there a way to test any part of the phone ? to see what part of the phone is fckd up? i tried to run an antutu benchamark when the phone worked a little bit but the phone went in bootloop at cpu test and ram test don`t know.
hey guys. i think i might have a fix for this sh1t
found on some forum i don`t know if it`s safe to post smt from another phone android related stuff if it`s safe i will paste here the post on that forum.
i found out that a guy with the same problems just like me and the same problems routine.... installed a nougat beta firmware and his phone worked after that. now i don`t have time to find and search a " valid " nougat beta firmware because i`m not home... can you guys please tell me if this is true or if somebody tried this option to fix this sh1t?
found out that many people have the same problem just like me after doing that update from samsung.
now my question is where can i find an " official " nougat update firmware to download. and try this because i don`t wanna go and pay 120$ to switch the mobo and then have the same problems.
saw a guy saying that there is one on sammobile but i don`t really have time right now to search for it. can smb tell where i can dowload one?
thanks
please smb reply
edit1: sorry for my bad english.

Same problem here! What is your phone status now?
sound like a strategic move by samsung to force u replace motherboard again and again until u decided to give s8 a try. then u realise , **** it. get a cheaper phone with similar spec.

DANGEROUS UPDATE : C432B185; do not apply

Hello,
I just applied the latest update C432B185 on a 8 pro honor; it remains blocked at restart. Another user reports an identical problem on the FRANDROID site.
Do not apply this update because the problem is blocking; you will no longer be able to use your honor 8 pro.
Solution on hold.
Thank you
I have the exact same problem. I started the update, and put it back in my pocket. I grabbed my phone after a few minutes and blindly touched the fingerprint sensor and pressed where normally the home button is. Instead, I catched a glimpse of a black screen, a triangle and a button. The button was at almost the same spot as where the home button normally is, so I clicked it and my phone restarted. After that, the only thing my phone does right now is show the white Honor logo with a lightblue blackground.
I already tried everything that can be done, I think.
Restarted the phone 20 times, did a 'user reset', cleared the cache 20 times and did a lot of factory resets (sometimes stuck at 99%).
Nothing made my phone work again. I also tried to use eRecovery to 'Download latest version and recovery' but that only resulted in 'Getting package info failed'.
If someone has any clue to what can be done to revive the Honor 8 Pro again (or to see some kind of logs to view what's going on), please... help! :crying:
The topic on Frandroid that Pascal was talking about: forum.frandroid.com/topic/261525-mise-%C3%A0-jour-qui-plante-le-smartphone
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with my honor 8 pro.
I can't use it anymore, the user reset is staying 99%
If someone has a solution...
Also had the update, tried everything, wanted to flash other rom but i haven't got my product ID to unlock the bootloader.
Worst part of all, there is no care centre in The Netherlands...
so what im suppose to do? not sure at all, eRecovery fails,
using the dload method fails.
nothing seem to work atm...
Thank you for sharing this. It's not released in India yet seems but disabled the auto download update over wifi feature just in case.
Also, I can't connect to the phone with ADB or fastboot. /adb reboot recovery returns error: device unauthorized. This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set and ./fastboot getvar all returns FAILED (remote: Command not allowed). HiSuite (never tried before) can't find my phone on OSX and crashes after 5 minutes.
No root, no unlocked bootloader. Also shows FRP is locked.
Same here (france) Factory reset doesn't work, dload method doesn't either and the WIFI update doesn't find anything so I'm stuck with no phone for the moment :'(
Same here (Poland). Phone is bricked, second visit in service within 2 months :/
Oh ,god, i was about to let people know that a new update b185 had just come up until i see this post...I immediatly stopped the downloading process of this Update, so bad news for the ones who already applied the update and who got stuck now...
There might be an ultimate solution for bricked phone by using the DC Phoenix unlock software method...
Same Problem with the Honor 8Pro update
Hi,
Same problem in the Netherlands, Brabant.
Just downloaded the update for the Honor 8Pro.
Tried everything, also the eRecovery, Same problem with the package Failure.
Also E-mailed to HiHonor for an sollution, nothing so far.
Somebody got any tip? Can miss my phone for work..
Greeting from Oss, The Netherlands.
Same problem
Same problem here in The Netherlands. Literally nothing works. Never even rooted this device or anything like that. Also, what is this "download and recovery" in eRecovery even for if nothing downloads? I am very disappointed in this. Have no idea what I should be doing while normally I find a way to work around such problems.

Thank you for the warning!
flash a stock rom by -=MoRpH=-.
these are factory firmwares and reset your device back to full stock, yes, even with locked bootloader!

I have explicitly chosen to not root or otherwise mod my phone just yet. Does this void your warranty? Right now, I can send it back to the supplier and they will fix it. Of course if something else is faster (supplier says max. 3 weeks) then I am happy to try, if it does not void my warranty.
EDIT: and also, how can I see which version I need? I don't know how for sure which version I have, and of course I can't get into the UI anymore. As I posted before, ADB and Fastboot don't give me any info.

Thank you.
I have made use of many Huawei phones in recent years (Mate 7, Mate 9, P8 Lite, P9 Lite) and Honor 8 Pro. I quickly realized that this update was blocking; it was common sense to inform users of the Honor 8 Pro in order to limit the number of service returns, unnecessary time wastage, etc.
This is our precious ...
Welcome
Here in Holland this morning the same problem.
Thanks for the Info. No update notice for my phone (in Germany). Hopefully Huawei/Honor will have stopped the update rolling out. Jeez, don't these updates get tested before they're released?
You can use Firmware Finder for PC to send an update for installation via erecovery with changing your routers DNS.
Erecovery is used in customer services to install manually sent updates only. That's why it can't find anything without sending an update to your device.

Newbie Help with an Unrooted, Unmodified Phone Stuck in Fastboot Mode After Update

I'm not really looking to do anything unofficial or invalidating or ultra-complicated to my phone. I've been looking everywhere for help, and I'm having a lot of difficulty, so I'm really hoping there might be someone here who can help me. My phone is a Moto X Style, and last night I tried to update it (I can't remember what the update was called, but I had been trying to avoid it like the plague because anytime I update ANY KIND OF THING WHATSOEVER something ends up going wrong. I got tired of getting the little pop-up reminding me to update my phone, so I finally decided to install it). I had connected it to the charger to make sure it would stay charged during the update since updates can take a while. But when I checked my phone next, it had gone into fast-boot mode with this message:
Start Up Failed:
Your device didn't start up successfully. Use the Software Repair Assistant on computer to repair your device.
Connect your device to your computer to get the Software Repair Assistant.
Turning it off and on again just results in the same thing. I thought maybe if I tried to do a reset to factory settings maybe it would work again. But unfortunately, I can't seem to access recovery mode, either. When I try to access recovery mode, the phone restarts and still gives me the start-up failed message in bootloader logs as well as a couple of messages in a purplish-pink that's all:
Version downgraded for recovery
Failed to validate recovery image
ERROR: Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot
Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from recovery boot mode
I tried talking to Motorola Technical Support on their website via Online Chat. They were effectively useless, and at one point recommended I take the phone to a Service Repair Center...
In India. (I live in the United States, and I work as a cashier in retail. I can't afford a trip to India - might as well buy a new phone at that point. Of course, I can't really afford to buy a new phone right now, either).
I've tried doing some research on my own. The only Software Repair Assistant that seems to be available is the one from Verizon Wireless. I tried to get that to work but no dice. No surprise there, I guess, since I'm not actually with Verizon Wireless (I'm on a Republic Wireless phone plan cause cheap). I read that sometimes Republic Wireless can interfere with things update-wise and cause something like this to happen? But I couldn't find anything about how to fix it.
I have no idea how much it would cost if I tried to take it to some kinda other non-official repair service somewhere, and I want to try and avoid that option if I can. Please if you have any suggestions that won't result in my phone ending up in worse condition, I could really use the help. I'm so upset and frustrated by this issue. I knew updating my phone would suck, but I didn't think this would happen!

When it is telling you to get the software repair assistant, are you putting your phone into your computer with the message displayed? Just want to make sure it doesn't automate a repair for you.
Do you have an unlocked bootloader, rooted, etc.?
Gotta ask to know where to possibly start.

I've tried plugging it into the computer, but nothing happens. I've tried downloading the Verizon Wireless Software Repair Assistant, but it just gets stuck on Processing... and nothing happens.
I haven't done anything to the phone. No rooting or anything like that. Dunno if this is relevant, but -
Console (NULL): null
Tools Mode Config: DISABLED
Battery OK
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Software status: Official

Do you have any idea what version of Android you were running (MM, N)? What specific model do you have (XT1572, XT1570, XT1575)
I'm really not sure what version I was running. The model is XT1575, though.
XT1575 is not enough to determine the exact error. Is your phone Verizon wireless locked SIM or all SIM type? If it is in first case, so hard to fix it. Bring it to Verizon.
If phone works with any SIM (2nd case), you can try to reflash your recovery via adb (google it). If it doesnt work, you may have to unlock your bootloader (warranty ended), flash the newest firmware corresponds to XT1575. If all is done without error, your phone may start again like a brand new. You have to set up everything again.
Do it with your own risk.
