I am finding the IMAP email associated with the Incredible is not functioning. I have double-checked all of the setting for my ISP (Mochahost.com) and they are all correct. I used the same settings on my G1 and received the emails flawlessly when I was on the t-mobile network. If I switch the drop-down box from IMAP to POP the emails are delivered but not with IMAP.
Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas what might cause this problem?

I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the issues I am and if they were able to correct it.
I have two gmail addresses, One personal and one for business.
I have Thunderbird 3.0.4 setup on my laptop using gmail's IMAP
gmail online and Thunderbird on my laptop work good together and they both match (Messages/folders) as they sync constantly under IMAP.
I get my HD2 on the 24th of March. I set up both my personal and business email addresses on my phone (Using IMAP) with settings to download all messages... I click send/receive and nothing downloads to my phone...
None of my sent or to do messages sync with gmail and show up in my folders on my phone....
When new mail comes in sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't.... When I get home and check my Laptop I find all kinds of emails that my phone never got.
If I send an email from my phone, it sends fine, receiver gets the email ok but again, there is nothing in my sent folder (even with the "save sent mail in sent folder checked in settings)
I understand the purpose of IMAP is so all email clients sync and share the same information. This isn't the case with my phone.... I've deleted my email accounts and reinstalled them paying particular attention to the settings and each time I have the same end results....
Is anyone aware of a problem with this email client on the HD2.....or could it be gmail? I dunno, I can say I've never had any problems from gmail or Thunderbird before so it's very annoying not getting my email, especially my business emails
I even emailed gmail tech support and they said its my phone.... I guess I should of expected that response.
Anyone got any suggestions???
Thanks
Nobody????
Nobody at all???
I have been using the new HTC Email app for my work e-mail and I am noticing that when I mark an email as Read on the server or in my desktop email client it doesn't mark as read on my phone.
When I read an email on my phone it does not mark the email as read on the server.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Anyone have any ideas on a solution.
Thanks

mark as read
I had the same problem with 1 particular email. I signed into my gmail account outside of the app and found the email in question to mark as read. That was a one time thing for me and I haven't had it happen. Is this a re-occurring issue with yours?
I have that problem also and it also does not show all messages in my inbox only the most recent.
Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Have exactly the same problem with my school imap server. It worked for a while, but since (I do not know what caused it) the first time it didn't "remember" read, it goes the same for any mail that comes. So if I don't go to the mail server on computer marking all as read there, they will always refresh on the device as unread. Even if I delete them on device, they will come as new messages on the device again. HTC HD2 mail server: is.muni.cz
Any help?
I can't say I have issues with my mail client when first viewing on my phone. That sounds more like POP not IMAP but I digress.
Have you tried deleting and re-adding the account?

Yes, I tried it multiple times, double checking if the settings for IMAP in my school server haven't changed. They did not. And yes, it sure is IMAP, cause I didn't want to use POP for several reasons. I have also a Gmail account (with using IMAP), but this one does not make these problems. However I don't think the problem is on their side... I think they should have IMAP covered. But noone knows. I've already contacted their administrator, waiting for response.
It very well could be an issue with your school's settings. Check with your friends to see if they notice any of those issues.
turn off 'keep on server'
Hi All,
I am receiving my Yahoo email and work IMAP email in the native Android email app. Yesterday afternoon, my IMAP email just stopped working. Yahoo is fine. I can send email, but not get email from the IMAP account.
I deleted the account, rebooted the phone and added the account back. All the settings are fine and check out, but it will not retrieve email.
I downloaded K9, and using the exact same settings, I can retrieve/send IMAP email without issues.
Any known bugs or ideas? The email is an exchange server, but we don't have active sync, so IMAP is used outside of work pc's.
Thanks!
Mike

I have a co-worker with a Sprint phone with Android on it (not sure which phone). She, too, is having troubles with IMAP with our work email as it will just stop sending/receiving emails periodically as well. This solves one problem in that I do not believe that this is just your phone. However, it creates two more problems in the sense that it is either Android problem or a problem with the email server.
I think it's an android thing. I have a few exchange accounts set up (first of all.. it does more than one... which is awesome), and the first time i sent an email my phone kept bouncing back with "can't send message" errors.. meanwhile.. the guys i sent the email to got repeat messages. one for every bounce back message I got. So it seems the built in email application isn't so great with emails. works fantastic with gmail though. I'm using a Touchdown trial. It's a $20 app. it's ok. i prefer the stock one.. .but it works fine so far.
It's not syncing on my Evo or iPad...Anyone having this issue?
Yes I was having the same problem recently. It "seems" like its syncing on the phone, but when I checked yahoo mail from their website on my PC it clearly was not.
(edit & update)
I used IMAP with yahoo mail... and this is what I found to be my problem:
It turned out that mine was in the settings, I had recently updated my password and only updated it on the "incoming server settings" on my phone, but on the outgoing server settings I did not update the password. So I would receive new mail but it would not sync properly when I delete the messages and marked them as read.
I am also having problems with my yahoo email not syncing. The problem is it will sync emails fine through 5/7/11, but not after that date. I tried deleting the email account in the mail app, and set it up again. It downloaded all emails through 5/7/11, but none of my newer ones. I have a yahoo plus (pop) mail account, but have always used the standard IMAP settings that auto-populate when setting up the account. Did Yahoo make any service changes recently? I am using the app on an Evo.
Does anyone use their HD mini to download email from Virginmedia.
I've used the POP settings with no problems but wanted to be able to reply to email from the HTC as well so changed the setting to use IMAP.
Incoming server has to be set to imap.ntlworld.com as using imap.virginmedia.com does not connect, account type is set to IMPA4.
Outgoing is smtp.virginmedia.com and advanced SSL for both in & out are un-ticked.
Advanced settings are to delete the messages off the server when deleting on the HTC.
So with all the above set I can receive/reply etc but if I delete an email on the HTC I can see it gone from the Virginmedia online inbox but it still downloads onto my laptop running Outlook....?
I've set the VM mail box settings to enable IMAP but just can't figure out a way to stop email I deleted on the HTC from appearing on the laptop.
Anyone got this working properly?
Fixed......
Not a problem with the HTC just Virginmedia side really, in fact probably more down to the way IMAP works.
Deleted emails are not in fact deleted on the server just the label is changed to deleted. So the PC downloading using POP will see everything as a new email unless permanently deleted.
I changed everything to IMAP but didn't like the way it worked so have now changed everything back where I have more control of how the emails are handled.
