Hi,
I have a K-Jam with the latest Rom but I have a problem with the "To:' box that when I type a name in some name show up but not all of them that are in my contact list.
I thought it would be maybe because of categories but no as all my contacts are categorized.
If I actually click on the To: link it brings up the full contact list with all the names...but jsut entering letters of the name in the initial box only brings up certain names.
Anyone knows what the deal is with that and how to fix it please ?
Is it because the phone number you have for the contact is not stored in the mobile number field?
On my phone it seems that contacts only appear in the To: box if you have a number in the mobile number field.
Very good ! you got it right ! thanks you man !!

Did you know that it's not necessary to add fileascontact at all? All you have to do is in the contact's "Name" section just add a "Nickname" in the "Nickname" field. TADA!

Tried that, entering a new contact and an existing one, but all new contacts default to last, first. Nickname only drops in when viewing an idividual contact card. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong.
When i save a contact to my phone, i enter the name like so (Name Lastname)
but in the contact list it shows up as (Lastname,Name)
i don't like reading names backwards. so i enter names in reverse (Lastname Name) so now they show up in the contact list as (Name,Lastname)
my question is, how do i remove the comma (,) between name and last name? i don't like it because now my contacts are like (James,Smith) instead of (James Smith)
EDIT::
Phone is an 8525, WM5.
without adding another software, you can enter name_lastname, NameLastname, etc...

when you edit a contact, change the dropdown under 'file as' to change what the contact is displayed as.
It defaults to lastname, firstname, but I've got mine as "firstname lastname" for all my contacts.
You will need to do it for every one individually though.
I figured out how to fix it, thanks for your thoughts guys..but here's how you do it
Enter the name as you want to see it (John Doe)
and just place the comma at the end (John Doe,)
and now the name will show up as "John Doe" in the contacts list, with NO comma.

but you screw things up with outlook contacts if you do that coz it saves everything as a lastname...
I don't use outlook.
Look at this.. i had the same problem...

I may be repeating this but i've only just noticed why mine hasn't been working...
Basically where i've imported all my sim contacts to my phone, all it has done is put their name in the Last name field, for example..
John Smith has been imported as
First name :
Last name: John Smith
By editing this to
First Name : John
Last Name: Smith
it comes up to link their facebook including birthday, profile picture ...ect
Sorry if this has been said before but maybe some people are having the same problem and this may fix it.
Hi,
Is there any way to modify the name order in the htc dialer? I'd like to see they in order Lastname, Firstname
I have a new Sensation (pyramid) and I didn't find a solution for that. Under People it is a setting for it: view -> view contact name as -> Last name first. But if I'm launching a dialer the name order will be the original: Firstname, Lastname
Under winmo it was in the right order for my local language.
Thx,
Blackdog
