Is this possible, and if so is a long press to voice search possible?
Would be nice to make calls, change music etc without taking the phone out of my pocket.

My current device is the TYTN II (Kaizer) and I use the voice memo function extensively for note taking. I have customised one of my hard buttons to take me straight to recording voice notes. This only requires a one step procedure by depressing the customized button. Is it possible to do something similar with the Blackstone (HTC Touch HD).
Yes, I have this set up with AE button + to map the volume down button to a long press starts resco recorder (you could, of course, also use the voice recorder).
So, a long press on the volume down starts up resco for me.
Works just like on my old Tytn II.

Is it possible to record the other person's voice as well when using the recording function? I believe that due to hardware constraints it was not possible with the Tytn II.
Hi Cheesy Dave,
This setup presents me with the problem: I have to remove the phone from my ear (when involved in a conversation), switch the power button on (device switches off when call answered), long press on volume down button and then press record.
With the TYTN 2 I could record a reminder with a single push of an asigned button.
Any way around this?
Many topics have been around (and probably will be made) about the headset and how it can be better used. I've found several things;
To control your mortplayer with the headset button, you can use this application.
Then there's some applications like Cyberon v2.0 (only works for the stock headset, not bluetooth) and Microsoft Voice Commander, which you can activate through the headset, giving you even more control.
What I want is a hybrid application that has the best of all worlds. I'm willing to help develop it. What I'd need is one programmer (doesn't have to be very skilled) who can help me create the basics.
I'm thinking of creating an app that uses Microsoft VC to control the phone's functions, but with more than one function on the single button. For instance:
Single press - activate voice listening
Double press - Start music player
Press and hold 1 second - start/stop music
Press and hold 1 second and then press short - Next track
And perhaps more. The key here is that these functions would be configurable. through for instance a config app, or just the registry, people can choose what the different buttons do (launch an app, use one of above functions etc.)
Is anyone else interested in this / interested and capable of helping me make it so?
Is there a possibility to program the button, which is integrated in the headset?
If I push it, nothing happens. If I push it twice, the caller dials the number I last called in the callhistory.
It would be nice if the caller would popup if I push the button one time, and maybe, if I hold the button for 3 secs, my player (Conduits) would stop playing or something like that.
Pressing it ones is for answering and hanging up a call
jeah, but on my samsung omnia which i had before the TD2, i pressed the button once and the dialer opened up, i liked that in some way, it must be possible to make this on the TD2 too.
and it would be simply nice if i could stop the song i am playing with pressing the button for 3 seks or something like that.
I installed the voice dialler software. Now when I press it, I can say 'home' and it dials home etc. or use it to fire up software.

Quick press to start voice record
Hi again
Anyone got ANY ideas of how I can use any of the buttons to activate voice record immediately?
I want to be able to use a key press to start record rather then use touch screen.
Regards
Ricco
You can install and create a mort script (start voice recorder, start recording), put it in startmenü and assign it to long press sendkey... but im actually not able to do that as i dont know the exact commands... furthermore it wont work when device is locked (maybe if you use AEButtons Plus for the volume rockers as they are not locked on many ROMs). Good luck, will be complicated...
Instant voice record...
Any other ideas of how to make a quick record?
Other Programs?
perhaps..
Maybe mapping a key (with AE Button Plus for example)
Find the .exe which execute the soft you want and assign it to a key of your phone .
I installed a program called nuance voice recorder on my treo pro and it seems to work but when it installs it asks if I want to make the recording button the microphone on/off switch.
I've tried many buttons but it seems there is no microphone on/off switch, so I can't seem to start any recordings.
Is there any such function on the pro? or a way to set up a voice recorder button?
I can record in notes using a button on the screen, so the mic works in that way, but I would much rather use this program, thanks.
I really have no idea about how the program works but you can remap buttons using AE Button plus which is great.
Good luck!
