Microsoft .NET Framework version ... - HD2 General

I would like to know how do I find out which version of Microsoft .NET Framework I have on my HTC HD2 [tomobile]? and if there is a location where I can get the latest build?
thanks

By the looks of your sig, looks like you're running a custom ROM, so I'd assume 3.5 which is the latest.

Ok, so where within the phone I can verify that its actually 3.5.

which version of .net
It's been a long time and no reply. I have the same question. Does no one know or is it impossible to find out the .net version currently running on an HTC HD2?

search is your friend...
i typed in "what version of .net do i have" and yielded this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3477489&postcount=2
is the way to check for sure...
cheers.

cgautil.exe missing
thanks! I looked but can't find cgautil.exe. I don't know if that's because it isn't there or because of the flaky scrolling in the HTC HD2. I'm finding it difficult to believe they issued the thing (the North American version) without .net. Is that what others have found?

i have tmous stock ROM and it is there. and 3.5 came preinstalled.

question
I have the same rom as you 2.10.531.1 (82076) WWE according to my phone. But I cannot find cgautil.exe on the phone. Either the claim that if you can't find that file you don't have .net is incorrect, or else there are two different roms coming out under the same number, one with and one without .net. Anyone know the answer? If not, can anyone with experience loading these big programs tell me what will happen if I attempt to install .net 3.5 on a phone that already has it installed? Will it warn me to stop? Sorry to be so uninformed but this is the first "smart phone" I have owned. Last phone was a Nokia 1661 (you get the idea). thanks!

Hi
if you have a registry editor, you can check it in the following location;
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCompactFramework
you can get a registry editor from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347178
also check item 13 on the hints and tips thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638

it's there!
That worked. I found it where you said it would be. Thanks a lot!

HTC Home Customizer application

Anyone knows if it's possible to run the "HTC Home Customizer application" on a Qtek 9090 ??
I tried to install a couples of times, everythings looks correctly but never works..
Thanks !!
well it works just fine on Blueangel, if you useng WM5 you need .NET CF 2.0 to make it work
I have the WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.20758 and Microsoft .NET CF 2.0....
There are any special thing that I need to know to make it runs??
or any tutorial?
Thanks !!

Not that I can think of. It is really a "Run the Cab" and "Have Fun" kinda application. It may sound like a silly question, but which version of HTC Home do you have installed? You may have to revert back to an older version to make it work. However, I have not seen anything that suggests this... but hey, give it s shot, it might just work
Thanks for your advise mate!
I'm using the "HTC Home Version 1.0 Final" and "2.1 Build 1005722" Plugin version
You know where can a find the old version ??
In the official website only I can find the new one...
Thanks again!

Thanks mate !!
I gonna try it now
It works perfect!!!!
thanks very much
The only problem is that now I can't find the HTC application to chage the apparence
Is that normal???
done !!!!!!
just install htc 1.0 final version after your file
Thanks again !!!!!

.NET 3.5 for Xperia?

hi guys,
where to get the .cab for .net 3.5 ..the link provided in the hTorch thread is of the .exe .NET from the Microsoft website.
http://www.modaco.com/content/windo...act-framework-3-5-without-upgrading-your-rom/
This was my source, you need to register with Modaco to be able to download it.

or here, but it is german
ya i already registered but they havent confirmed my account for nearly an hour now.
thanks ..
When I registered you verify your own account - They send you an activation email to your email address that you signed up with and you simply click on the link. I received my activation email within minutes..
Unless they have now changed it?
I got it from the SDK, which is freely available from Microsoft Downloads.
hey ..ya i got it now.. already installed the .NET 3.5.
does it improve the performance of the apps? or is it just a matter of compatibility?
showed the hTorch to my dad and he loved it.

In layman term, .NET is just a set of libraries that application make use to perform common task like user interface, etc. Wouldn't do anything to your device's performance.

wrong
if you install .net cf you only get libraries to work with apps that require them. If you use a rom cooked with .net cf 3.5 installed on it and all system linked to 3.5 you will get a performance boost as 3.5 is faster then 2.0
In the middle take place the use of ".netcf cfg" from modaco, that force programs to use the newest .net cf but not all component in the system

well, the so called performance improvement is as a result of optimising the ROM, has nothing to do with 3.5 framework itself.
not only tweaking registry, dynamic linking with new libraries always give a performance boost (assuming that new libraries are quickier than older ones ) Check some post from swiftblade or other skilled cooker for full details

it's not always newer implies quickier, in general, since there's other consideration factor like support for new features, etc.
In anycase, I think we have OT because the question is "does installing of CF 3.5 improve performance" and the simple answer should be a straight "NO", without considering other scenarios like cooked ROM, etc.
Saw this in the Dev & Hacking forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373721
Might be worth a look.
Just tried it - seems to be quicker..
Didn't do the benchmarks before and after (darn), maybe when I get home later..

simple answer doesn't exists: it's generally "NO", but should be "a little" if you force programs to use new .net libraries (check the link posted by CalvinH) and "a lot" if you link all libraries to new .net cf cooking a rom.
Are there any other benefits of forcing .Net using the reg hack as posted in Dev & Hacking? Stability, Security, etc?
Stock ROM is still pretty good though - haven't felt the need to start with cooked ROMS just yet (or am I wrong? )
What are the differences between this hack and deep linking of ROM cooking?
this hack only force program that remote call procedures to be linked with new .net cf. Deeplinking take this benefits to the whole system, even for static linked procedures. I'm not a cooking expert but remember some posts in elf/elfin section about this
Wait new sys/xip port from itje to start with cooked roms and you'll see your device flying as porting sys/xip envolve even relink of all libraries (anyway, major benefits will come from new sys/xip)

ok, we will agree to disagree (not that I disagree that it'll improve performance since it's always any developer's objective (but not the only) to release faster/better library with new version)
Thanks for the modaco link.

How do you get G-Config to work on the HTC Pure?

Sorry to be such a noob, but I installed the G-Config cab file to my new HTC Pure, and when I try to run it, I get an error message telling me that this application needs a newer version of the MS .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device. Where can I get this? I've read something about a sensorsdk 4. Is that what this is, and where can I get that? I've tried searching, but can't seem to find any downloadables. Thanks!
Oops. Didn't notice the rules for posting in this forum. Sorry!

You are looking for a Korean ROM or just need to view Hangeul, in which case you just need Korean font on your device.
Rom not font
looking for ROM not hangul font. Preferably with 576MB ram 'upgrade'. am hoping one exists.
If I...
Yeah.. me is looking for this too... I heard that you can install CHS+CHT Rom then you can install language pack (or something similar) to read and write in Korean...
I would live to give it a go, but only if i had spare HD2 to test it on...
lol
But I will let you know if i manage to do it...

He has clarified that he is looking for a Korean ROM whilst based on your post, you are looking for the ability to just read and write Korean. If it is the latter, that can be done using the correct font and input (SIP)
However, you will not be able to view Chinese font. I am not sure if there is a way to allow the user to see both Chinese and Korean fonts at the same time

I've ran into these and installed to my Touch pro 2. (it says it's from HTC HD2) http://www.mymits.net/zboard/zboard.php?id=pds&page=2&no=5757
Thanks to James Kim, it work fine as far as texting and e-mailing in Korean. (I've installed it last night and so far so good)
It comes with "Moa keys" and I was able to get some info from youtube. (I'm learning)
I've got T-Mobile and it's working fine, but when I try to send to my friend with AT&T, it gives me message and tells me try to send it without the symbols.
I guess it doesn't work if you have AT&T.

@nayajoeun, can't remember where I got the fonts
edit: added cab file for font
its not easy to install font on wm6.5... i've tried so many fonts... all failed on me
Here is how i did it..
OK.. Here is how I did it.. hopefully this will help you ppl.
I'm currently using Telstra (Australia : 850Mhz / 2100Mhz) version of HTC HD2 (Leo).
I've forgot what Radio Version it was.. but yeah...
* Install HSPL
* Do a search for Merlion Leo Rom V2.5 on this forum
a) Once installed and configured,
* Do a search for Lost In Asia V1.2.23544 WWE with CHS on this forum
a) Once installed and configured, open up a browser then goto google.co.kr then in the search box, type in or copy and paste this "htc hd2 한글쓰기". It's the thrid one down on the search result... one that starts with "mymits"
b) download the files from the website and follow the instruction.
Instead of using Fingerkey, I found Moakey is alot better.
Hope this helps... Reason why I've used 2 custom roms.. ROM installed ok, but got stuck on HTC Screen (May be because I didn't read the information fully... advised to install RADIO Ver of 2.08 before installing the ROM)... So, I had to install Merlion Leo Rom V2.5 then Lost In Asia V1.2.23544 WWE with CHS.
Anyways...
Screenshots attached..
And I'm not responsible if this don't work and brick your phone... like all the cooked roms.
Cheers..
Bravo! Well done.
I would like to try on my HTC Touch Pro 2. Any advise?
Can't see why not

LIA ROM does not include radio whilst Merlion ROM does. You should be able to skip Merlion ROM for this exercise by just flashing the correct radio before using LIA.
Thanks for the updated MoaKey. Will give it a go later.
I made a mess trying to upload screenshots.
Skip this post, Sorry.
It's working! but it's 99.9%
I installed steps 1-6 on my HTC Touch Pro 2 and it is working, but whenever I pushed start button at bottom right it freezes my phone.
Until I installed MyMITs_Korea+Moakey2WVGA100310.cab then everything works smooth.
As you can see, some of menu has not changed yet. 99.9% I'll say.
My rom is |R|6.5.5|ROM|WWE| ★ Energy "Leo" 23544 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562773
and it seems to be okay now.
I can't wait til the t-mobile hd2 comes out. (I'll have to butter up my sweetheart to get one probably )
Thank You!

co0kies theme requirement

Hey Guys,
Since Android hasn't finished yet i will not switch over yet, and wait wil switching OS.
instead of that i will use an Theme for the TP2. ( co0kies Home Tab )
i found co0kies home tab theme very great, as i searched for further info i found out that i need Manila 2.5 ( 2.5.1920, 2.5.1921, 2.5.1922, 2.5.2011, 2.5.2012 )
Where can i get this? After many hours of searching i found out that it might already be on the phone, but i dont know what version is on it.
can someone help me with this? Co0kie wrote this to find it out.
To check your Manila version: go to the settings tab in Sense, select "About phone", and then "Software Information".
If you have any problems with this mod please report your full Manila version (e.g. 2.5.xxxxxxxx), the device and ROM you are using.
Where is this tab named "Sence" ?
Can't find it anywhere x'D.
So, do i have Manila ?
If i dont, Where can i get this?
If i do, How can i see what version?
And if i found out what version, What is this tab named "Sence"
Another thing is that if something goes wrong, how can i return to the normal WM 6.5 ( NON - MODDED / THEMED )
Also, Last question.
Do i need to flash my phone for this?
Greetings
If you're still on the stock ROM that came with the phone, then you don't have Sense 2.5
The only way to get sense 2.5 in this case is to flash a rom with it. You should be able to get all the necessary information in the rom development forum
THANKS! i will search for this, very usefull !
Sence is the Bar below right? cause at Settings > More > Today > Items i have "HTC Sence" In the list.. and its checked on..
If i have this "Sence" Where can i get the Manila thing?
I found manila.exe in my File explorer\Windows\manila.exe
How can i see the version of it ?

"Sense" is the entire pretty little graphical interface that you're playing with...the clock, the tabs on the slider, and everything in those tabs, is all the interface that HTC built to go on top of Windows Mobile. HTC has been calling their shell "manilla" for a long time, Sense is just the latest generation of that. There is no "sense tab", and the exact location of where you can see your sense version varies....which carrier's model of TP2 are you using?
However, it's kind of moot...like ctbear said, if you're still running the stock rom, you're not on 2.5 anyway, most likely 2.1, so you'll still need to flash a ROM if you want to use co0kie's home tab
i live in europe, and my carrier is Hi.nl so i dont really know what model im using..
thanks for the information, could you provide me with a link that has the 2.5 rom? i'm so afraid i will choose the wrong one since there are so many around
thanks for the information again!
Hey guys, flashing a ROM isn't the only way to get 2.5 on the phone. I followed the directions in the "Manila Sense 2.5 cab?" thread (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=661941) after a Task29 and a couple of hard resets using the stock TMOUS 6.5 ROM...I have 2.5 running fine with the CAB from post #4 of that thread. I put CHT and CHT Editor on and all is well. It's way easier to use a Energy ROM, but I was having problems with messaging and connectivity so I went back to the stock ROM. As I said, all is well...going on the 3rd day with the setup and haven't had any hiccups. No tinfoil hat phantom usage issues, either.
YMMV, obviously.

If you got the phone from KPN/HI you will have an unlocked TP2 for which you can get the latest Rom on the HTC website. Manillaversie: 2.5.20121225.0 is Sense 2.5. Original Dutch Rom should be 2.07.404.1 NLD.
If you need any more info let me know. You can also send me a Pb in Dutch if that would be easier for you.

In Norway the TP2 is now coming with Sense 2.5 as standard stock ROM.
To the question, slide the slider at the bottom to right(all the way) then you'll be at the settings tab, follow cokie's instructions from there...

I myself havnt tried it as I DO flash roms. However, Xhero doesn't seem to know much about anything on this phone... nor to use the search feature... nor how to use google and search "The difference between Manilla and sense" Soooooo I wouldn't recommend flashing a phone just yet to him/her.
Xhero... do your reading.. LOTS of it before you start trying to customize your phone. You dont want to screw it up and then have to come back and start a new thread asking how to hard reset your phone... Please please learn how to search the forums too. The best advice that can be given to a new user. If its too difficult to use that search key in the top right of EVERY page on every thread on XDA then in google search what you are looking for and type "XDA" after it..... ie.. "Manilla 2.5 install cab XDA" or something like that and Bingo Bango you'll be brought to the thread!
A little research and common sense goes a long way. Have fun with your phone and remember to post relevant questions in the appropriate threads and you'll likely get your answers super quick!
I have allready guided him to the correct Romupdate from HTC. Yes there are other ways of getting Sense 2.5 but this is now the easiest way for him to obtain it.
In the Netherlands the TP2 is also now being shipped with Sense as I got mine last Saturday with the new Sense on there.
