I like to organize my music in albums but one thing i seem to notice is that unlike the ipod the htc magic is just picking one of the album arts for ONE of the songs in the album and then taking that one picture and using it for ALL the other songs. Is there anyway of changing this or can this phone only have one picture per album or sumthing.

album art is a picture of the album cover..
if the songs are from the same album, wouldnt they have the same album cover?
or maybe im not understanding the question
well the way i had it on my ipod was that i would have one album with all my rap music. Then each song would have a picture of that artist or album or mixtape the song came from. Therefore there would be different pictures for different artist.

yea cuz album art is is registered to the song itself..
youre saying that your custom album is showing album art of only one song for all the songs?..maybe when you make your own album it just uses the first song as the album art..
try using playlists i guess? im not sure..weird problem.. ill see if i get that too

How come all my music has album art when i play all music etc but when it comes to playing songs that are within a playlist the album art doesn't show? Please help it really bugs me!
Playlists
When you use a playlist, there is not one picture that represents the whole album, windows media play on the PC also displays no album are for playlists, I think you are meant to play full albums !!!
oh right i see...bit crap then isn't it. problem solved in touchflo3d tho recognizes playlists and album art...shame bout the ratings mind.
Anyone know where the stock Music app is getting the album art from?
I took some mp3s where I purposefully changed the tags to bogus data--for an unrelated test--and put them in their own folder on the phone and it is giving it the original artists album art.
How's it doing that?
I'd like to know this too. I was putting the album covers in the same folders as the mp3's, which works for the music player to show the correct albums. But then in my gallery I have all the albums showing up as their own folder. Would like to just be able to put them all into one folder if possible?
So now that I know the stock MP3 player wont display uncompressed album art, I think I want to try a different mp3 or media player. I really cant stand looking at blurry pixelated pics on my Vibrant. Does anyone have any suggestions of players for the Vibrant that will show album art in full resolution instead the blurry images you get with the stock mp3 player?
hmm.. that's wierd, none of my album art is blurry at all on my phone using the stock player...
I do not have blurry album art problem either, but to answer your question I use MixZing.
i don't use it much, but i tried ^3 and liked it. http://abrantix.org/3.php
I used to go crazy over issues like that too. So I gave in to a Rdio subscription. $10 a month for unlimited music that follows u in a cloud, and it all comes with correct good quality album art. No more issues.
I don't work for them either lol in just really love their service and wanted to spread the word. It's really convenient.

My stock music player doesn't show blurry album art, but all mine was added by iTunes automatically (then embedded into the files using a script).
I use doubletwist, and it satisfies my needs.

Wow... best media player I've tried. I've been looking for a good one.
This makes my music sound a little better than it did before, heh. Anyone else notice poor quality with 3.5mm jack?
I just bought the xperia x10 a while ago and started to listen music on it..
I download music on limewire and put them all on my 8GB micro sd...
Pop in the micro sd to my xperia x10, boot it, mediascape,... whats wrong?
Some of my songs shows up the wrong album art. and whats strange is that all the songs with the wrong album art HAS THE SAME WRONG ALBUM ART.
So its weird, for exemple:
I have for example on my phone:
Dj Nightlife : Display right album art
DJ Ravine: Display right album art
Akon: Displays DJ Ravine's album art instead of akon album art...
Lil wayne: displays dj ravine's album art instead of lil wayne album art
please help im getting pissed
thank you
I would try fining the album art on your SD and deleting in, make sure its the right stuff your deleting though and letting mediascape re scan it all. and make sure the mp3 files have thr right artist etc listing in their details [right click the mp3 file and properties, details tab]
What you need to do is to view the files in media go and manually fix the mp3 tags of each song, it sucks i know. But thats becouse the guy who created the mp3s was sloppy.

nonono it works all fine on my ipod touch, i even added the albums manuelly on itunes
use media go to change the cover art xD is faster and you can delete anything you want from there like custom cover arts or copyright comments
So I discovered this bug(if you can call it that) in the music player recently, now bare with me on this, might be a little bit tough to explain...
Lets say i want to add a new song that we will call song1,that song is in an album called single track. If the song has an album art,the player will automatically bind it to the album,so whenever I add a new song in that album it will read the album art from the first song, not the id3 tag from the mp3.Even if the original song didn't have album art,song2 would also be displayed without it.Now even if I delete the original song,or add album art to it,the album data is stored in the phone itself. This is really annoying a lot of time since i have to name albums "Singletrack1-Lmfao" or "Singletrack1-Example" and all artists have single tracks.
I contacted SE support and those BASTARDS said they couldn't do anything. So i ask you...Is there any way to fix this,or make SE include the fix in 2.3.4?
Congrats to 2 of you who got The IT Crowd refference
I've seen this problem with other phones as well. My current Omnia 2 (which uses completely different software) has the same problem...if I have 2 songs with the same name, the second one will use the album art of the first one, despite the album art being set correctly in the ID3 tag.
Only way around it is to rename the file to something slightly different.
it always does it that's why i'm also annoyed.. apart from that, it also gives wrong album art to songs that doesn't have art themselves.. i.e., Teddy Geiger songs have Celine Dion's All the Way album art.. sucks
