I did 2 days ago an update, everything was smooth and phone was ok all settings remained unchanged. Today I plugged in the phone and PC Companio told that a new update is available. Since 2 days ago nothing bad happened I did it again. Now the phone was like after a master reset, nothing was kept. Luckyly I had backup but beware!

I also did the FW upgrade from 0.14 to 0.16 few days ago and like the thredstarter states it keeps all your settings, apps etc. have not plug the phone to my pc since then.

My phone just rebooted for no apparent reason;
I am rooted with the original stocked rom.
Is there a way that I can find out what happened (without having to connect to the pc)... is there some sort of logfile that is being stored? special application to help troubleshoot?
thank you for your time

Best thing to do is wipe clean and start over. Don't download anything and use the phone as is for a day. If it still does random rebooting then its the phone.
If not then add apps once a day until it happens...

My phone only reboots randomly when I have no data service at all. Once I'm back in an area with data service it works great. I can turn off mobile data when I'm in one of those areas and it won't reboot for days. Turn it on and pretty quickly it starts rebooting again, sometimes every couple of minutes.
My girlfriends EVO does the same thing at the same time/locations, hers is a couple months old and unrooted/stock. Mine was bought on launch day and rooted/custom ROM.
Ok starting yesterday my play (r800x Verizon us) started acting odd what it did was everyone that has Verizon knows we get an update message a couple times a day well I was getting it every ten mminutes so I desired to know why so I hit update, then my screen blacked out and then I was on my home screen. I went to the update option in the settings menu and it said previous session started down load in progress. It was like that for two days. I then used seus and reloaded my os and now its fine I still get a prompt to update every so often but I was just woundering what in blazes happened?

Just turn off auto search for updates. Settings > about phone > software update > auto search (untick it).
Did you try updating over wifi? or 3g? Maybe it dropped signal and never restarted? God knows lol as long as you got the update is all good i suppose I just leave the auto search off and when someone says updates are out on xda i will then use ota or seus or flashtools to update depending on the circumstances.
That's the thing the update isn't out yet, and update can only be done on 3g not wifi, I just hope it will come out soon

Since i have updated to Mango, i receive no notification whatsoever when entering the Martkeplace if there are any updates for the apps that i have installed, so i have to manually check the version of each app installed+mplace to see if there is a newer one...anyone having a similar issue ?
Never heard of this issue before
No problems here, allways get Update messages.
After updating to Mango, I noticed that the updates were no longer coming through the Marketplace tile. However, this has started working again after the 8107 update.
Thanks for the feedback guys, looks like i'm alone in this one ( i have 8107 already )
I have already reset my phone so i guess i'm out of options
@muggs_ro
I had the same problem. No Marketplace's live tiles notifications. But after few weeks, suddenly everything srart working. So maybe you have to wait. (It was with Vodafeone-DE firmware)

It worked for me after mango and then suddenly stopped working. On vacations I deactivated my data plan and I never got the app upate notifications via WiFi. However, I reactivated my mobile data plan today and I got the notification of 19 updates immediately!
I have a Vodafone DE branded device with 7740 update.

Hmm so there seems to be a bit of hope though, i'll consider re-flashing if there is no improvement in the next weeks..
same here
but u can update the app if you find it in the marketplace... hope this will be fixed, but when i see how lg is working on it's updates i don't think it's gonna happen until there is a major update (tango maybe). they are doing the same thing with the wifi tethering update (i busted my ass trying to get this but i can't). seems like lg doesnt care about it's users very much...
@muggs_ro
i left the 3g internet on for the night and this morning i got a notification about 28 updates. apps updated with no problems. check if it helps...
All of a sudden without doing anything i started to receive update notifications since yestarday...weirdest bug ever
About 30mins ago my gf tells me here phone is showing a new update icon, so she shows me and I see it, kinda strange since the AT&T version never gets an update. So it says we need to have a mobile connection to update, so I turn the wifi off and put the mobile connection on and tap the update. Nothing happens.
I than realize I need to plug the phone to my laptop and use the software, so I do that and now its saying I can only check for updates once every 24hrs. So I set the clock up a few days, some error message. I mess with time, same error message.
So looks like im waiting 24hrs, but did anybody get this update today too? My gf has the AT&T version of the Xperia x10, 2.1-update 1 base.
I guess u got the update for gingerbread.
Hi,
I updated my Nokia 6 early yesterday morning, February 21st. The update was 1,7GB in total, don't know what it consisted of. The update came to my phone through standard automated update check, I got a notification to connect to WiFi, I did, the update downloaded and installed.
Apparently, it was the Android Pie update, though I didn't look that closely.
So, 100% stock ROM, no mods, fully official update method. No tricks. Connected to wall, 100% battery.
After the update the phone booted and asked to reboot to install operator updates. I'm not quite sure the exact wording of the message pop-up, but that's what it asked as far as I can remember. I agreed to reboot, the phone shut down, and never came back to life again.
It won't respond to any key presses. It's completely bricked.
I'm going to get it fixed in a shop, where it'll go to have its display changed anyway. I'm writing this here to ask, has anyone else had troubles with the update? It was rolled out in Finland apparently February 21st or 20th, or then I haven't reacted to the notification before. I'm quite unhappy with the state of the matters, since it seems to be the official update that bricked my phone.
So, anyone had any troubles with Android Pie update?
Mine bricked 2 days ago after the same Android pie update, 1.7 GB. I have tried flashing to no avail. Currently looking for ways to restore a bricked Nokia 6 TA-1021.

According to the service personnel, a small wonder happened when they plugged in my TA-1021 - the device started right up. It's quite extraordinary claim, since my phone was connected to my charger when it shut down, and it was showing 100% battery.
I have no reason for this, only speculation. The only explanation I can come up with outside of some divine intervention is, that the phone did not shut down after all. Instead, it was stuck on some loop with screen off and buttons inoperative. When it finally ran out of battery, it responded right away when it received more power.
I did not try and flash my phone myself. Nor did they flash it in the shop. It wasn't necessary, the phone is now fully functional.
Maybe try to plug it in briefly and see what happens. If nothing, then just unplug it again and try another time tomorrow. Btw. HMD Global's chat support was very responsive, so I highly recommend contacting them if you suspect that your case was caused by the updater itself.
Mine didn't get bricked, but it started having issues with Google accounts. After the update, all apps which use my Google account to login had login errors & I couldn't add Google accounts onto the device. I manually synced the account, removed the account & tried to add it again (shows a "sorry something went wrong" message everytime I try to add an account), wiped the cache, even factory reset it, but nothing helped. I finally had to spend some time learning how to downgrade it & was able to add accounts on the device again. But after I updated my device with Android 9 (V6.12) again, the issue came back.
my all google apps arent working on TA-1000
mine is completely bricked. wont turn on at all. TA-1033.
Is there anyway to fix this?
