Installed without problems. I had very few 'stability' issues with the music app to begin with, so it'll be a while before I'll be able to tell if it improved anything.
And yeah, dammit, you beat me by a minute!

what changes does this actually make, htc are always really vague saying what a patch does. does it by anychance fix the library reloading everytime
From time to time playback freezes for a few seconds - pretty rare but annoying - maybe this will be fixed.
Or maybe this is how HTC describe the annoying problem where Audio Booster does not automatically kick in when starting playback for the 1st time after a reboot?
the music player is always lag. unlike iphone player which is alot better
That's true, Music Player lags a lot... mainly after a couple of days without switching off the telephone and after an intense use of the player (2-3 hours)..
I hope this hotfix will solve those problems...
Does anyone has any feedback about it?
I wonder if there will be a hotfix for TMOUS, It lags so much i just dont even use that tab anymore

Not yet I'm afraid, but there are things you can do to help with the music tab, check out both of these threads:

Can someone post this cab, it dissapeared from HTC support site
using artemis v9 rom. 16gb card. much faster near instant load and scan of 12mb of music takes 20 secs from several minutes.
Whoooha - /WIN.
No lag (stop in music after every 10 seconds) any longer when putting device into sleep pushing power off once.
Old Work-around to push and hold power off and let it go to sleep from the screen with 'shut down' menu is now absolete.
After this fix just find your music, push play and one-hit power off to let it go to sleep and music plays perfectly.
Super upgrade - waaaaay to late - but glad its fixed!

Audio booster is still not working
As my title, the audio booster is still not working properly after this update. It seems to cut out every time there is a drop in network connectivity.
This is a great shame, because for me it prodcuces the best audio output when combined with SRS WOW.
I am using S2P until audio booster is fixed, because bass level-wise, it is the next best thing. I know it is an iphone-clone along with S2U2, but they both do what I want for this particulalar purpose, so who cares!
Maybe one of the things they have fixed is where non HTC (4-pole connector) headphones make the phone act oddly like randomly redialling the last number dialled and the volume rocker fast forwarding tracks instead of doing the volume...?
Breaks Bluetooth Audio
Hello all.
I installed this hotfix on to Artemis 8.0 ROM and it broke the streaming of music to my bluetooth headset. Tried re-pairing the headset etc. to no avail. Anyone know a quick fix to return the audio output to my BT headset?
Thanks...
Guys, it says for HTC Sense. But thoes this effect WMP at all? I never use Sense to play music. But I have seen that WMP just randomly stop playing my music etc.
Any idea?
This fix does nothing for me... i still get lag, the pauses every 20-30 seconds...
REALLY ANNOYING. Although it didnt do it before, it jsut started in the last couple days, after a hard reset. ????
Does anyone have a solid solution to this problem? i dont wanna have to go to the 3rd party program EVERY time i want to listen to music.

I have now stopped using S2U2 and S2P and now using CHT Lockscreen and HTC Music again. There is still the Audio Booster problem, but with SRS WOW and Audio Booster on "Normal" it seems to be fine. I think if you choose a setting that it different, or customised then you notice the cut out. Either way, the phone seems more stable using less third party tweaks and software.

I've always had one small problem with TouchFLO 3D's music player: if you're listening to music with the earphones plugged in, and you accidentally pull the plug out, it starts blaring your music over the speaker! This can be very embarrassing if you're out in public and all of a sudden, everyone around you can hear your music.
I spent a long time searching for an answer to this problem, and I've never had any success. So finally, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create HeadsetMonitor.
HeadsetMonitor is a lightweight application that hides in the background and monitors the status of your headset. If the TF3D music player is playing when you unplug the headset (generally by accident), it will spring into action and instantly pause your music to prevent it from blaring over the speaker. Once you plug the headset back in, it will automatically resume playing your music. Additionally, if you want it to play over the speaker anyway, simply hit the play button and it will continue to function as usual.
HeadsetMonitor does not affect battery life. HeadsetMonitor only consumes a miniscule amount of CPU power for a fraction of a second when you plug or unplug the headset. It will automatically run on start-up and connect to the HTC Audio Manager program as soon as it becomes available (usually when you first go to the Music tab). It remains completely idle in the background until the headset is plugged or unplugged, using no resources except for a few KB of memory.
Installation instructions:
HeadsetMonitor only works if you are using TouchFLO 3D. It currently does not pause any other media player automatically. I developed and tested this program on the CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond, and can't guarantee that it will work on every phone.
It requires version 3.5 of the .NET Compact Framework, which should already be on your phone in most ROMs. Simply run the CAB file on your phone to install, and then either soft reset or browse to the application folder and launch the EXE manually. If all goes well, you can begin using it immediately.
great job- gonna use it
tried it and got an exception error. I am using the Touch Pro 2 version of TF3D

Do you happen to know what exception? Also, can you check the exact name of the AudioManager EXE in a task manager, please? I haven't tried the TP2 version of TF3D, so it might have a slightly different name or something.
Thanks!
My apologies. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it to give it a second shot and it worked as advertised. I apologize for not testing it again. it must have been something else conflicting. Hope this makes up for my error http://www.fuzemobility.com/remove-headset-to-pause-tf3d-music/

nice app, but only one problem, when i insert the headphone back, it doesn't resume the song and it goes to the first song of the playlist..
Monsterchef said:
great solution for that problem - i have another one: I have a bluetooth stereo headset, and often when tf switches from having a call back to music, it shouts out at speaker instead of bt headset - that's annoying for me AND the people around me...
does your prog solve this TOO?
i.e. does your tool check if a headset is used (no matter which KIND of headset) OR does it affect the special headset like tools "FM radio" or "Equalizer" do?
thx for reply in advance (in case it does not affect your tool DIRECTLY...)

I'm not sure if it would work, as I haven't got a bluetooth headset to test it with. However, when you connect your headset to the phone, do you get the headphone icon on the top bar? If you do, and that disappears after ending the call and switching back to the music, then HeadsetMonitor should pause the music for you.

That's definitely strange. Is anyone else encountering this bug?
Could you give me some details, please? CDMA, GSM version? Touch Diamond, Touch Pro? What ROM you're using? What version of TF3D? Anything else you think might be useful. Thanks!
nice app .
maybe you can add a feature that it automatically disables the headset when there is call (incoming/outoing)?
this would be for people using normal 3,5inch headphones (no headsets) so they do not have to remove the headphones when they want to speak on the phone!

Sorry, I took a quick look and it doesn't look like it's possible to disable the headset without physically unplugging it.
Let's start:
GSM version
Latest official rom 2.03
Touch Diamond
Original TF3D
Thanks for this. It's working a treat for me on a HD2. Saves me having to install s2u2 and s2p just to get the music to pause when i unplug the headphones!
One suggestion if you're still working on this would be to get the Audio player to autoplay when the headphones are reinserted.
Brilliant app! Working perfectly on HTC Diamond (Win 6.5 / HTC Sense 2.5) using a Sony DR-BT20NX bluetooth headset.
Thank you!

This app is great! Thank you so much for creating it. This works perfectly on my CDMA Touch Pro 2! I have been looking for this fix for quite some time!
Hi everyone,
For the last couple of days I have been very frustrated with my prophet... I installed a wonderful rom from [email protected], but have been having trouble with audio playback in standby - I tried all possible registry fixes, but it was impossible to get consistent standby playback with either windows media player or htc audio manager. It always ended playing in standby for a couple of minutes, then several short sound interruptions until finally playback hangs.
As a result, I decided to try a different approach, by using the slide 2 unlock and slide 2 play apps. I really like both of them, and for a short time i thought I also had solved my problems... but, here comes the "but"... After some flawless playback with the screen off, the sound output just stops - at first I thought it was the player hanging, but when I unlock I see that the player is happily playing the music, there's just no sound coming out... and not just from s2p, no sound in the system at all... The only solution is a soft reset...
So my question is, does anybody have an idea what might be wrong, or I just have to settle that it won't be possible to have playback with the screen off...
Thanks in advance,
Boyan
I have exactly the same problem with s2p and s2u2 on my Diamond 2.
I can reactivate the sound by switching on the built-in radio but that's really annoying as it happens quite often.
I had problem like this. Install the lastest version of s2p. There is tweak 4 this.
Hi Guyz
Today i see one more bug in main HD2.
When you check it Audio Buster and afther that lock the phone Audio Booster automaticaly switch off and sound is changed. When you open Audio Booster it's checked but not working - you must to re-check it.
Do you know how i can fix it ?

Next Music player problem:
When you press Menu->Update Music Art->Update Current Song
phone update not only current song. Phone update all album and not maked it correctly.
If you don't know Britney Spears - Womanizer is part of album with name "Latin Kings" and when i try to update just this song phone update another one and i can see that Lady Gaga have songs in last Britney Album .
Noticed the sound bug alot today, also one of my albums has double listings of each song, yet look in the folder and there is one of each???
Also the call volume bug is really annoying, always starts to loud, use the volume rocker switch to lower it ans its still loud, pop your finger on the screen and it drops right down to a perfect level, weird bug here to.
All of this however can be sorted, this is an awsome phone, and when these bugs are ironed out, it will be awsome x2
It is true I also have the problem with Audio Booster and a lot more people but it seems that unless the subject matter of the camera, for example, when this software is easily solvable, it is clear that we need a review of this application that improves both the music to everyone's taste.
Moreover this gap with a solution in part WOWHD ... works well, but I think too that there is no way of loss using an application that comes standard and ripe.
Hello,
I have read some posts about that, but I cannot find them right now...
I have problems sometime when playing music (with headset). As long as the screen is on, no problem. When the phone is in sleep mode (screen off), I have some short break... Or the player just stop. It seems the issues is just like if I remove the headset cable.
I have tried Soft and Hard Reset, I have tried two different Headset, I have tried with TouchFlo player Tab, Windows Media Player and Core Player... Some time it works for one hour with no problem, sometime it just play ugly one song and just stop.
Did any one has the same issue? Find a way to suppress this? Maybe just a registry tweak to disable the "Pause on cable off" ?
I have same issue and make ticket to HTC - but they answer is to perform Soft Reset. They can't reproduce this problem.
I'm having the same problem; short random breaks in the music. Did eith er of you install SRSwow by any chance? I may try uninstalling that and see if the issue continues.
Having exactly the same problem, short breaks in the music, and if i lock the screen, the music stops at the end of the song and doesnt go onto the next track

I don't installed SRSwow. My last try was a Hard-Reset, and just after first start, I played music... And get the problem. My next try will be to use the #### headset I got with my Leo. But I have to go back home for this.
I had the problem using the Leo headset
All of you have a lock screen with "password"? (I have one due to my exchange policies). I tested a trick yesterday: I manually lock the phone before putting it into sleepmode... and no problem (two times).
My problem hasn't re-occurred since i did a soft reset
Maybe the short breaks have something to do with the update function of the music player? Once in a while, don't know when, but definitely when you use the music player the first couple of times, the player does some heavy working in the background. (indicated by the little merry-go-round in the left upper corner).
Anyway the player isn't any good when you have 100+ albums. Browsing through that many albums is a disaster (no scroll bar, no search function). Also the artist are grouped by "performing artist" and not by "album artist", a tear-breaker when you have many compilation albums. Also, and every player for the WM platform (in contrast to the ipod players) have this weird functionality, albums are sorted by album tiltle and not by artist. Who in heavens name knows all his/her album titles by heart? When a album pops in mind you want to play, you think in terms of .... (that wonderfull) album by Fleetwood Mac for example and /not/ in terms of that album, called "Rumours", by ...... (that crazy rockgroup... what's its name).
But that's "appelflap" talking.
I believe this is a very old problem witch occurs on allot of HTC phones.
I've had this problem on one of my 3 previous HTC phones, cant remember witch one, because I bought a decent mp3 player a long time ago
It's a damn shame really that HTC can't fix this thing.
I have this problem too, but also with the audio cable running to my car stereo. As long as the screen is on, there is no problem. If I turn it off, the music starts breaking up once in a while.
use Nitrogen people! been using that on my HD2 and have had zero music playing pauses / breaks / etc, even with screen off, regardless of whether headset is on or not.
Have a similar problem with another winmo phone. The problem was with listening music on microsdhc (i.e. larger than 2gb microsd card) card.
It seems the device just shut down card reader on standby (Screen Off), so when your buffer is empty (end of the song, as a rule) there is no music to play and it just stops.
And no, I dunno the reason for such behavior. And there was no problem with 2gb or less microsd cards.
P.S. I'll test my leo with 16gb card tonight (just bout it), to see, if there a similar problem.
I have the problem problem with my 8Gb card. I could try with the 2Gb too. This should be the reason for the "stop playing at the end of the track".
But for the playing "short break", I have another thinking: Nitrogen don't have the problem. The most important differences between Nitrogen and WMP/TF3D player is the rule that make the music to pause when removing the headset. And this really "sounds" like a problem of headset, as if the phone "loose" the headset connection. Try to remove and quickly re-plug your phone; you'll se the same issue.
Back to my first question: is there a way to disable the pause on unplug head-set? Maybe in the registry?
I still don't have HD2, but I have these problems on X1.
Nitrogen did not help, in fact it can't play some MP3 at all. It either skips it or crashes completely. But otherwise it is the best player I know.
What does work however, is to use Core player and set 'higher priority during music playback'. Also I tried to change priority to higher using task manager for Nitrogen and it seemed to help, but I did not test it that much to be sure.
I sent this to nitrogen bug tracker (suggestion that it should allow higher priority) but after month there is no reaction.
I fixed my issues by just cleaning up my music and making sure I didn't have more than 30 songs per folder(had ~1000 in one and it made the music player lag like crazy).
i've the problem, but only when receiving or doing a call. after that the lags start ... this is annoying -.-
Having issues as well with HTC music player, it stutters, there are sound artifacts where the song skips, and sometimes a song will stop playing after 2 seconds.
This is so annoying im prepared to send it back. I reformated my 8gb class 6 card, but it´s still the same.
Using another player is fine, no issues. This is classical HTC issues, they need to get the crap together and fix issues like this before the release. Had the same issues with my diamond until they fixed it.
hi everybody! I had the same problem but not in the sleep mode. My htc music will have little break when my Opera loading something.
It is had any way to fix it? thank you
In the settings for the display light there is also an option for "turn off my device if inactive in:" - I disabled that option and my music player (Pocket Player) is now running without problems.
Hi,
while listening to music i found few software glitches.
1. Audio booster if you save preset in an existing name, it is not saving the current EQ setting instead it retains the previous preset EQ setting in memory but on screen it shows the new EQ settings, if you goto some other preset and and come back to saved one you could see on screen that your prev EQ settings of that preset is retained and not the new one.
2. Listen to music using headphone with Audio Booster enabled, If you attend a phone call and disconnect the call you will notice while resuming the music audio booster won't be really enabled, when you goto audio booster again you can feel the change in sound, looks like every time when we attend a call and resume music audio booster had to be re-enabled.
Do any one have similar issue?
~SwK
Yes, I have them both. Actually there is no solution for them on the forum, from what I've searched.
I got those problems too and also that its shutting down randomly and between songs, which is very annoying.
I have mailed HTC about it and the reply i got was that they've informed the developers about the problem...
Similar issue, I mail them too.
audio booster
have we heard anything on this bug? Mine just started shutting off randomly, Appreciate knowing if we have found out anything,,thanks,,Quig
Needs fixing, for SO long!
Audio Booster has always had this problem (remembering from my HTC Touch HD) where as soon as it's been closed or moved off screen, without music being played, it will close/disable.
I usually run it and minimize it, so it never goes off, but of course, as soon as you remove your earphones, it turns off/disables. Decided to never use again until a fix is implemented and/or it just picks up that earphones are connected and to stay enabled until it is manually close or earphones removed.
booster
I also had hd, but had no problems with booster on it, strange? HD2 shuts of randomly, just listening, not running or doing anything else? I guess just keep turning it back on.
I have HD2 and the same problem brought me here to discuss about it but it's unfortunate not to find a solution or at least a germicide to this bug!!!
Booster
Hope the techs find way to fix it. Or htc does update to fix? I really enjoy using music player, but audio boost continues to shut off randomly.
same
same here....but no one could make any solution for that...dont know why they made this booster....goddamn...
Audio booster bug
I would really like to find fix for booster shutting off. I would be willing to donate for someones time if they fix it. I'm Techdumb, so no chance I'll find anything,..LMK,,Quig
*Bump*
Does anybody know if the latest ROMs (TMo US?) still have this bug?
on a side note, I still wish HTC would fix the problem with AAC files not being listed in track order; a bug which has been present for YEARS now (On Touch Pro, Touch 3G etc....).
All in all little things like this prevent HTC phones from being the 'all-in-one' device I crave. Shame. Perhaps I should stop buying them ; )
HD2 audio booster
I have tried several ROMs ,TMOUS 2.10,does not have this problem.
now i am on O2 uk ROM 1.72,still same problem.
I have even applied Music patch released by HTC on their web site. Now booster shutdown with every change of Song.i have to manually switch it on for every song.really very annoying.i cannot go back to TMOUS because i want internt sharing options which is not there on TMOUS 2.10.
Any help.please .Thank you.

audio booster update
I read on some forum, person had sort of work around for booster shutting off. Well his idea was just unplugging earphones, & putting back, it reset audio booster, no need to go in & turn back on. Well, I tried just pulling plug out until I lost 1 channel, then slowly push it back in until I get second channel back. Audio booster has stayed on steady for my 15 song playlist!!!! plug is not in all the way! But enough to get both channels,& audio booster!! So far working!! For me, it's great!!! Please lmk,,,,Quig

BSB tweak and hd2 tweak dont work for me neither does pressing X instead of done its bloody annoying because the sound quality with audio booster and srs is excellent but frustrating to have to re enable it after every song!
