need help - OPAL in india

Dear all
I have bought OPAL (Touch Viva) in India
It came with a Idea cellular Sim connection
and the splash sceen shows cellular operator's Logo...
But the shopkeeper gave it unlocked to all networks...
is it safe to flash 6.5 ROM on that...
Senior members please help...
Earlier I was using Gene with 6.5 running on it very fine

there won't be any problem in flashing 6.5.
I'm running 6.5V13 in my idea Htc viva mobile for a very long time now. After you flash it, the idea operater logo disappears or to be precise, it will be deleted.
If you fancy the Idea start screen, dont flash 6.5. Apart from that, if you flah 6.5, the mobile will be a delight to use and please stick with V13, it is as far the best version of 6.5.

Now I will update my VIVA and will also post some new ROMs
The gene forum is excellent.....u will get a lot of ROMs there all fully loaded and fantastic...

i'm using the one which is posted in the aforementioned link. Don't forget the hard spl before you flash the rom. I reckon you will have some idea about that. Anyways just for the sake of caution, don't forget that. And i'm from Mumbai.

Although I have done it for Gene....but quite not sure for OPAL
can u pls give me a consolidated guide and the tools....
I have read the instructions in the sticky....
My phone stats...
ONBL 1.35.0000
SPL 1.35.0000
GSM 3.37.00
OS 1.35.00

Mate, it's very simple.
Just download the Hard-Spl from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446446 and follow the steps mentioned in the link. Once you've done that.
Just go to my previous post and go to that link which includes the 6.5 V13. Download that and install it in the same way as the Hard-Spl. Within 10 min, you can complete everything and start using 6.5.
Its not that complicated, just try it.

Hi Mate...I purchased VIVA recently...I was having the same ROM version...Could you backup the rom before flashing. I flashed my phone with 6.5. I cannot find the version 3.37 in the net. I am looking for this ROM version for pretty long time...I wanted to go back to 6.1..If you can post it some where it would be great..

I havn't flashed yet.....but don't hv a memory card now....
will take a backup before flashing

i thread
there is rom available in the thread...but it contains IPL+SPL+GSM...
u can use that but make sure to remove these componenyts before flashing

Is it true that If I flash my Viva to Windows 6.5, the original warranty will be void?
If the warranty get void, is there any other way out?

buddy the warranty will be lost wen u do HSPL.....but u can go back to original SPL 1.26.00 for warranty claims....its explained in the hard spl guide.....sticky thread

I do have a dump of the ROM but how do I restore it. I see in the threads on kitchen they say it needs a base ROM. I flashed my phone with one of these ROMs and now it does not recognise the sim card

hi ialso fron andhra im also using htc viva idea unloack i tried many roams every rom has some bug i hear that Build 23007 ha no problem im trying it today currently imusing WM6.5 B 23033 V23 where ur from!

How to BackUp original ROM

Hi, I live in Australia and I bought my HD2 from TELSTRA the other day.
Quite happy with it so far.
I'm interested in trying some other ROMs but want to BACKUP the original ROM that came with the phone. Is there a program which will let me do this?

i wanna back up my rom also.i searched and asked many htc users but no answer great community...

its not easy, my advice is download the one mentioned above.
but, if you are technically minded, see this.

its for the raphael not the hd2 but the process is the same - dump the raw files then use a kitchen to re build the rom file.

Like 99 out of 100 times your telco provides your Official Rom through HTC's website if you register your device. I have a HTC P3300, one HTC P3600 and an HTC Diamond and I can download the official rom from HTC.
I know this is not what you're asking for, but it's the official rom installed on your device. If there are any extra apps and gizmos by your telco provider, then I don't know.

Touch2 T3330

Hey guys, have tried searching but I couldn't find anything on this topic. I need your help over here. Anyway, I was thinking of running a cooked rom on my new touch 2, but after reading up, I realised that HSPL has to be for model number PB74100.
My touch 2 (under device ID) is T3330, and under the batt compartment, it's PB74200. So I'm a little confused as to how to proceed. Moreover, the rom version is 1.37.728.3
Anyone can help me out here? Thanks so much in advance.

The link is for T3320...
I am also using T3330...its Touch2 with GPS but no camera for me...not sure does it define as T3330 because there is no camera.

have u flashed your ROM yet? if you haven't please don't yet!! I have the same model T3330 non-camera 3G version as you.
I've successfully flashed cooked ROMs on my T3330 and there's no problems at all. Just search for this thread "HardSPL kit for Mega Touch2 by jockyw2001" and follow the instructions on Post #1 and page 11 or so.
The problem is I've forgotten to save the original ROM. If i need to send my T3330 back to Starhub or HTC for warranty, i'm pretty sure I have to flash back the original ROM.
Could you do me a favor to extract your current ROM out if u haven't already flashed a cooked ROM?

I never heard of that rom, and I suggest to flash another radio, and check if this solves the problem, if not, the rom isn't ok and you have to flash another rom also.
You can find a good radio in the Insomnia thread from d_train, I'm not able to give you the link now (I'm on my mobile phone now) .
If you want another rom in another language just go to shipped-roms.com (just google it, I'm not sure about the name).

I guess you do not need additional programs to the camera, because the rom is already there
