About Android.
Just bought a Tattoo for my son - he's 11 and had saved up £110 so got him one off eBay.
Windows Mobile I knew a bit about, recently I've got to know a little bit about the iPhone. Guess I've got to learn a bit about Android now.
What's an 11yo gonna do with an android? -.-'
Let his dad play with it, hopefully

The most important thing I learnt about Android and my Tattoo is to exit programs using the back arrow key (which closes them) and not the Home key. Too many apps don't work very efficiently and drain battery if left running in the background.

Bah, times change, soon 5 year olds will be running their own companies... =)

Anyone know of a way to install a cooked WM ROM on the EVO? I'm new to this stuff so directions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
I feel the flames a comin'
Really though dude. Sell the EVO, go to t-mobile and buy an HD2. It's pretty much the same device but with WM.
Seriously why buy an android device if only to put windows mobile?
Anyway no you can't, windows is copyrighted or something of the sort and there for needs to be license etc.
Android is open and free hence why it can be placed on damn near everything.
There had been other threads like this btw.

Unless you want to spend months developing drivers then no, it isn't possible. As someone said, go with the HD2.

Ahh, I second this. Except the fact that most programmers are staying over at the Evo and I wish more programmers would come over here. Not many people of a Shift, I got one yesterday and Perm Rooted.
Not going to happen..EVER..
I mean your question should be..
"who wants to get sued by M$?"
because thats exactly what would happen to any developer who ports this to an Android phone...they let the HD2 slide because when you buy winmo phones they still make money..so they are being "tolerant"..if you port it over to an Android phone..M$ earns nothing and this helps their competition...M$ will be with a lawyer in your doorstep in no time...
On another note..MeeGo is open source..so you can get that ported...
If you just want the launcher download Metro UI on the market.

I would like to know if there is a app like Everyday looper for or Android devices.
I have been searching for it quit some time now but i cant seem to find a app that can do the same thing.
I phone app everyday looper :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzQLRPwZjIo
WOW!!!! It´s amazing... Nothing similar for Android at this moment, I believe..
I really like the idea of that app and many others do also.
I just don't gone buy a iphone for 1 app i like. (not that i want to buy a iphone anyway)
Looks like fun. Shouldnt be too hard to create... lets see the power of xda developers!

someone go!!
I just find a app that can do the same thing as everyday looper but its far from optimized. It has a huge lag and no setting menu.
So can some dev take a look at it and tell me the possibilities if some dev would be interested in making such a app( i am willing to donate for that)
Closest thing i know if is reloop but i dont think you can use the mic in it
I'd pay for an app like this. Really good.

And reloop is not "on the fly" frendly I.m.o.
The men who made everyday looper is not planning to make a version for android because it has many type of resolutions and androids latencys is not that good. But thats What was last year June.
It seems that the men is a "iphone app only fan" with Al respect for the program it self.

Port everyday looper Android
No not really any news on this item yet.
But i hope there is still someone that can make this possible for android.
or at least try to tell why this is not possible for android.
The specs of the new generations android phones are way better than from the Iphone so I don't understand why this suppose to be and stay a Iphone/Ipad app only program.
I found an app called loopstamatic that seems to do something similar to Everyday Looper. It's still in beta and only supports 3 channels.
Thanks I will try it and report later.
No good luck for me. when I am trying to download and install it on my phone it just stop downloading and nothing happens. So I can not test de program.
I am trying to try installing it with a new android rom and will report back again.
Comes close, fun to play with. Not as good as every day looper though. Missing some features I would like there.
Good find nonetheless, thnx

He knows its an android forum. That's why he asked us WHY DO WE PREFER ANDROID OVER WINDOWS.
If you're gonna try to make a fool of someone, cover your bases first.
On-topic, I actually prefer windows mobile to android. Windows Mobile was so customizable and had a lot of options at your fingertips. I was TORN upgrading from my bbcurve cuz I couldn't decide if I wanted the TP2 or the Hero but I settled for the hero because of the camera.
Now its no contest. Windows Phone 7 is so ****ing stupid and limited compared to windows mobile.

I'm also a member of the gamefaqs forum where trolling is not tolerated at all you troll on there you may as well delete your account because they will do it for you. That's why I don't bother feeding trolls unless they are looking to personally disrespect me. Android rules

WP7 might be good for people who doesn't want to deal with troubleshooting their phone, i.e. non-tech savvy people. It actually has nice UI and I heard it gives refreshing experience to people who are exhausted with iOS and/or android. I like its zune style music app. I am actually frustrate with Android music player. Default one looks soooo outdated. I want something real nice like iOS's coverflow or WP7's zune for android out of the box. Don't want to pay extra money buying music apps. Also there are no good music apps that work flawlessly with the lock screen.
Again, WP7 has less apps and porting is slower. I think it doesn't have Skype yet but will have Tango soon. Also it doesn't have free tethering. All the good things about android such as rooting, installing unique apps like call recorder, roam control, PRL flashing, free GPS navigation, decluttering unnecessary carrier apps, etc. are not possible.
Personally, I would like to try Lumia 800 if I wasn't in contract with Sprint.
I went with Android mainly because it is not Windows, and I hate Windows.
I've been working with Windows for almost 20 years(wow, feeling old) and its just one thing after another when it comes to bugs.
I would have went with an IPhone if it had a slide-out keyboard. Android was the only alternative in my books, since Palm blew chunks with the Pre. I had a 755P Palm OS phone forever, before trying the Pre and then going to the Moment.

For starters i agree with what you said about 50%. I work for a T-Mobile Store and not everyone that works for a carrier is has the IQ of a jar of mayonnaise. I do however think a lot of people are. I am one of the very few people that i know around me at work that know wtf root/unlock is a for a android phone. I make sure that every dumbass person that comes into my store leaves knowing that a adv task killer is a waste for newer android phone. I tell people this when i see it installed. Also to add if you tell people that thats what you think when you talk to them in a retail world, have fun getting help when it comes to something that you need help with.
