X10i Baseband 1.0.20 - XPERIA X10 General

I noticed a X10i running Baseband 1.0.20 on one of the threads on here. i am trying to find it at the moment.
Does anyone know if there is another firmware update on the way?
Thanks

hello i have unbranded x10a that is running R2BA020 is there anyway i can download the R2BA023 or where i can download it on my phone cuz i heard it has a better in call volume. or is it only for uk? any rogers customer or any1 in canada has this version in their x10? please do share
Well if you root your phone, it comes with 023, which is what I've done. But you could use flash tool, with one of the many links going around the forum for the firmware.
X10a 023 unbranded firmware: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IK1HOS43

Rooting unlock the potential of your phone, plain and simple. Also, you would just have to flash if we would ever get the 2.1 update.

[Q] Hello All Need your help

Hi All,
I have a X10a from Rogers and i Rooted it to R2BA024 using the rooting steps in this forum. After that I connected to PC companion and SEUS both are saying that my phone is up to date. Below are my queries,
1. After I rooted my Phone Am I not eligible for updates?(Say for future 2.1)
2. Is there any generic unrooted firmware for X10a available?
3. Can I unroot the phone again back to Rogers firmware.
Request one and all in this forum to answer these queries. Sorry if it had been posted in some other thread. Looking forward for your update. Thanks in Advance.

Hi Vikram,
In future please search the forums before you post again
1. If you rooted it to an X10a version of R2BA024 then it should be fine
2. Yes there are many... again, search the forum
3. Yes, there is a Rogers firmware available too if you want to go back (That's what I'm going to do once Rogers releases its branded 2.1)

Sorry buddy, typo
I meant you should have flashed it to X10a, which you did. So from what I've heard that should enable you to get updates, even if you're rooted.

THe problem is currently I have R2BA024 FW but i see that the latest is R2BA026. When i connect through SEUS and PC companion both r saying that I have latest software. When I clicked Repair i get an error saying that unable to download files. So was bit concerned. Do you have any info on why this could happen. Thanks in advance.
Just what I asked in the other forum. I am currantly at R2BA026, and my Rogers X10a reads X10i (Even if I followed each and every step correctly). Is there something wrong with X10i-X10a step? and I am not alone, there were many people reporting same thing.
I am very happy with R2BA026 but would flash with original Rogers FW if R2BA026 can't read my phone as X10a.
Please help!

Do you have the Generic R2BA024? Or is it branded? Can you check that by accessing the secret menu? (search for secret menu in the forum to see how to access it)

Bro I used the info in the below thread,
"Root your X10 R2BA024 ! { Update 26.07.2010 R2BA024 Root with 2/3-Steps } "
Am I doing something wrong here. Please let me know which would be of great help.
Thanks
I'm pretty sure 024 is stock Rogers. I used the flash tool to get to 026.
Edit. By stock Rogers I mean its the last update in our region.

Not kies. There's a page popup that says upgrade will wipe data blah blah. Have to check agree to proceed. But it did not say name of fw. Will upload screen shot when I get home tonight
I did not get that... What is your kies version. Kies is really nonsense to begin with.

Singapore, SingTel, DXJG4, Kies 10093_81, No update available.
Okay, below is what I see when I click on the upgrade firmware button. As you can see, it didn't state what's the name or version of the FW. I really dun want to upgrade if it's not froyo as I am very happy with my current JG4. If anyone in Singapore (Singtel) tried, please let me know what FW is it.

The screenshot doesn't reveal anything about the firmware. You have to proceed to where it shows your current firmware and the firmware it wants to upgrade to. Don't worry, you won't upgrade the firmware untill you tell it to on that screen.
Regards
Apologies all. When I clicked upgrade, it goes on to tell me I already have the latest firmware ... BTW, I have never seen that screen before. Previously it will straightaway take me to the screen that shows the FW version. Really pai seh..

[Q] Confused about debranding [SOLVED]

Hey folks, let me start by saying that I have searched and read threads on this subject, but alas I just did not understand them.
So please, if somone wouldn't mind answering my questions with simple answers, I'd really appreciate it.
Firstly, a while back I 'rooted' my phone with the 'Exploid One Click .apk Root (Latest v.1.08 30 Aug. 2010)' method and all was well.
However I ran the update service on my pc recently (looking for 2.1 DOH!) and it gave me an update...which left my phone unrooted but with the latest 'RBA026' build number. I panicked and just did the exploid root method again and restored my phone with titanium backup.
So my first question is, is the firmware I have now unbranded/generic or does the root effect the firmware?
If it is not unbranded/generic, which is the easiest method to achieve this?
And, lastly if I have an unbranded/generic firmware..can I still get the 2.1 update with SEUS? (if not how would I get it)
I understand this will probably frustrate some people as all the information is probably already contained in the forum..but like I said I just couldn't get my head round it.
I'd really appreciate any help that anyone could give.
Regards
TD
EDIT: BTW this is the info on my 'About Phone' screen:
Model Number - x10i
Firmware Version - 1.6
Baseband Version - 1.1.31
Kernal Version - 2.6.29-rel [email protected] #2
Build Number - R2BA026
In the key lock screen, press the following button combination after pressing the power button to bring the screen on (don't unlock the phone though)
menu > back > back > menu > back > menu > menu > back
Post what you have in service info > model info screen

Thanks for the quick reply!
WOW ddn't even know I could do that...lol
The screen shows the following:
Model - x10i
Country - UK
Brand - Customized
Thats what I have and yes its generic. In theory our handsets will be one of the first to get the 2.1 update
We'll need to re-root obviously though.
Oh and updating through SEUS will work fine also!

That's brilliant mate, just what I wanted to hear..thanks very much for the help!!!
(if there was a rep/thanks button I'd have clicked it lol)
No problem. Hopefully 2.1 will come today

Yeah, Fingers crossed. I didn't think this would bother me all that much, but I've gotten swept up in all the excitement...lol
Since the topic is already here.. I just wanna know if my phone is branded or not (didn't find a SINGLE topic explaining what means what)
So:
Model: x10i
Country: Central Europe 3
Brand: Customized CE3
IMO that shouldn't be branded, should it?
Are you on R2BA026? I would expect that to be generic yes.
I debranded mine some time back, this is what mine is showing
(FW version is R2BA026 GENERIC)
Model: x10i
Country: Generic GLOBAL
Brand: Generic
Mine shows,
Country uk
Brand 3
Will I get update first like other uk ones?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Your phone is debranded but mine is still not. Since you already asked about debranding, and the easiest method, I think that the build.prop replacement is one easy method, but is it safe to tried?

Grrr. I have had my ATT X10a rooted for a while, and SEUS/PC Companion/Update always says I have the latest firmware.
It's been 30 days for me, I want to put in generic X10a NAM firmware so I don't have to deal with any changes SE/ATT may have made to make it harder to root/debrand.
I've dealt with Davinci in the past to debrand my SE Java based phones, just never with an android phone. I've gone over the threads here, but 99% deal with X10i and X10a Rogers and X10a AT&T firmware seems to be a bit different and forced the SEUS update that prevents the substitute files exploit.
Even the substitute files exploit seems to require that you actually update date twice, once with the 'current' firmware that you got, and then again with the swapped two files.
The Rooting scheme that is often pointed to, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=717949 is confusing for X10a. I've downloaded the files mentioned, and the extra x10a files. But to me, the flash rom is in the X10i download and there is what looks like a partial flash in the step4cmd in the the fixes something and makes it a x10a? Is this correct? The only X10a/i difference is the 10K file?
I wish someone would rewrite the directions specifically for the "I" and "A" versions so there is no confusing language like, '#5 do Step 4' and there was only a single flash required. (I particularly find this funny since step 4 and 5 were eliminated for the "I" version.)
Whatever happened to the "update" file on the SD card method? There was a CRC error problem? I wish I could find a NAM rom that just had to wrapped/renamed to Update and put on the SD card. Reboot, wait a bit and you're gold.
yeah. i just did. i posted because i followed that guide, and now on 026. it's pretty easy. just make sure to look thru the troubleshooting threads listed in that post for help.
