Rom manager doesn't list 3.0, only 2.5.1.4 as being the latest
ROMmanager is 3.0.0.2 the recovery has not changed since november 10.
There's nothing wrong with cwm. Maybe one will come with GB.

Support for ext4 file systems, that GB uses. If you're using any Android 2.2 based ROM, stay with CWM 2.5.1.3.

Yes it did --- I kinda jumped into it and did not really heed Cyanogen's big fat warnings... (reckless flashing) and I couldnt get gapps to flash -- the stuff from rhcp's CM7 thread -- but I got gingerbread going -- then I got distracted all night...woke up this morning trying to make the phone shape up for work -- that was a #fail and the battery seems horrible (then again by no means was it a proper battery test) -- so I decided to restore and that involved new drivers..(for some reason my SDK at work couldnt find the phone so I had to reinstall a fresh SDK (which i named gbSDK)... then found the current recovery at mybrainhurts.com and erased 3.0.0 and fastbooted the froyo recovery back in and restored. easy pie --
gingerbread is a whole 'nother game -- i just hope theres a way to go back and forth between froyo and GB (and eclair/cupcake/donut) without having to fastboot erase and fastboot flash relevant recoveries.
I am sure folks want to know if the new one fixes the "off" mode...and the answer is - i dont know. I didnt check. i kind of hope not because its a feature rather than a bug. theres no quick way to get to recovery when the phone is off. (on to fboot then to hboot then to recovery is too much work)
Is it even worth it to upgrade at this point in time? I'm a bit worried as it seems to be working pretty damn good with what I'm doing now. No partitions on my SD card because I don't care to put apps on it (it's not the fastest class card anyway).

what exactly happened when you flashed the gapps?
at least it didn't fry your g2. i think i might give it a go once i hear a few more success stories. my main worry atm is the ext4 issue. i guess i could just wait until rc1 i guess.
by 'off mode', are you referring to s-off?

I read the rhcp cm7 thread and i needed to unmount system before flashing the gapps. Thats why gapps failed because i didnt read!
By Off i meant how cw doesnt let the phone turn off when charging... i hope cw 3.0 lets us keep that feature.
Ill probably give it another go this weekend...it works its just if you wanna go back to froyo you need to replace recoveries manually..not a big deal but frankly gingerbread isnt all that more exciting than froyo. I feel i have what i need.in Froyo..the gb keyboard...the gb market... and thats fine with me.

Erase Recovery option
Call me naïve, but if people are making full-blown builds with an image recovery and everything from the CM gingerbread source (which includes the Clockwork Mod recovery 3.0.0 image if I'm reading the source properly), could you just go into ROM Manager, go into Settings, and check the "Erase Recovery" option to allow it to erase the recovery between flashes?
I would test this myself, but I need to go home and make myself fresh builds of CM7 and CM6.2 to try swapping/flashing back and forth between. I can report back once I get around to it later this afternoon.
If I understand that option correctly, applying a full flash of these alpha builds of CM7 should write the new recovery image (v3.0.0.0), and if you need to switch back to CM6, you should be able to just reflash a full build of 6.1.1/6.2 back and it will restore the older recovery image (v2.5.1.8 according to the latest froyo version).
EDIT: Negate that thought. Not sure how you would go about forcing the recovery image flash while in recovery. I got to research this a little more...
I can't reply to the NFX thread due to my post count, so here goes...
It's ashame that the NFX-HERO mod isn't maintained anymore. I haven't found any 2.x mods that I like, so I'm STILL sitting on Fresh Rom based off of 1.5.. I flashed my phone to the NFX-HERO ROM, and sometimes it boots up, and sometimes it doesn't.. When it doesn't boot, it'll just sit on the white HTC screen, or if it gets past that screen, it'll just sit on the NFX-HERO boot image, then just get stuck in a loop after 5 minutes. Removing the battery, rebooting the phone again, will sometimes get it online. Anyone have any idea what could be happening here? I didn't see anyone with the same issue, so it's likely phone related.
Did you do a full wipe first?

I never could get most of his roms loaded but the older one finally booted for me to do a prl/profile update a while back. He has like a few different roms out just try a older or newer one and you should fine one that will boot for you. Also like the prior post I recommend a full wipe data, cache, dev cache and sd/ext good luck

Try his latest updated rom and make sure to flash the kernel to go with. And of course wipe, wipe, wipe.

If you don't wipe SD-ext and you have data on there you can get boot loops. That is if you have it partitioned. Another issue could be the kernel has the CPU overclocked to high. Not sure if his were or not, but maybe flash a different kernel.

Still working on it. Making this a multi phone project has been a nightmare. Finally got something working, but there's a lot of code to be written. A form of data2ext will be included as a user variable. I would release one that works for our phone, but I want everyone using the same one so I don't get confused.

So far, I've done a system wipe, wiped dalvik, wiped cache, wiped SD.. Installed one of the two kernels, and it still hangs at the white HTC screen on 3 times out of 10, and won't get past the NFX Hero boot screen 5 out of those 10 times, and maybe it boots 2 times. I like the squared bottom of the dialer, same as w/ Fresh. I wish I could get to liking aosp, but just can't.

If you're using amon ra based recovery, try clockwork recovery (from rom manager app). Wipe sytem, data, cache. Go into mounts, format boot, system, data, cache. Go into advanced, wipe dalvik. For fun, repeat. Try decad3nce #43 capped at 691 (flash AFTER the ROM), see if she boots.

Now, This may have been answered or tied into the post by neidlinger, however I've found my problem to have some strange symptoms and was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I had my Glacier working just fine using the ice Glacier ROM, decided to try out some new ROMS including a couple Gingerbread roms. I updated Clockwork Recovery to 3.0.2.4 and flashed the roms, they seemed fine, but they weren't my cup-o'-tea. So I flashed back to IceGlacier 1.1.6. Ever since then My phone has had a boot loop issue that seems to be effected or triggered by power management. Not always, but sometimes If I plug my phone into the stock charger or otherwise, it'll reboot and sit there looping at the MyTouch splash screen until I pull the battery. Same happens on occasion when unplugging the phone. I can get it to boot into Android by letting it sit off for a while then come back to it a couple minutes later and power it on. Is there anything totally wrong with my device outside of what neidlinger posted?
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
Update!
Update: I found some time finally to look through some roms and flashed "Royal Panache" using CWM recovery 3.0.2.4. I still get the boot loops described above, still related to power, seemingly. If I plug the phone in while it's off, often it will start up on its own. Any help is still greatly appreciated . Please tell me if I'm just being stupid and/or blind.
try changing charger, or use pc charge and see if that happens
Thanks! I'll give it a whirl. Though I will say, it happens when using my car charger which is just a usb port.

You keep mentioning the cwr version as part of the flash process. Have you been reflashing recoveries each time you flash a new rom or something?

Try restoring your phone to stock using PD15IMG, and see if it takes care of the problem.
If you have engineering bootloader - remember to reflash it after PD15IMG (it'll restore 0.86 stock bootloader when flashed).
If the problem won't be cured - it means that somewhere in your flashes you've probably damaged/overheated something in the phone, and now it needs replacement.

probably one of the follow
1. Clockwork screwed up and let you flash a rom from another device (not likely)
2. If you tried to flash cyanogen rc1, then you just need to flash a different rom and you'll be fine
3. You tried to flash a gingerbread rom with a froyo kernel (if your using sense)
4. A bad flash/download, just redownload and reflash
Now these are just a few things, but with little detail of what you were doing, there is a broad number of possible problems
Overclocked too much/Undervolted too much
Flashed a wrong zip
you just messed something up
get into bootloader and see if you can go into recovery.
I know, this should be in the thread started by the Dev... but I am a new user and therefore can not post it there. So this is as good as I can do, sorry.
Ok. I searched and read almost every post.
Saw one comment about this same issue but no responses.
I can not boot any of the RC builds. I can flash all the others with no issues. I have tried full wipes, G2 wipe zips, different recoveries with no luck. I tried flashing older builds that boot for me, booting them then flashing the RC builds, with no luck.
I am getting stuck in. A boot loop not getting past the splash1 screen.
Any others have this issue? Any fixes?

This seems to be an issue on cjward23's MIUI build also.
Can someone quote this into the quatro thread so I might have better luck with some help?

I'm not sure if you need dz hboot or not. Most virtuous you do but then again I only see it on sense. If you've wiped everything before making a fresh flash then maybe.
I'm no expert though

i posted this in the official quattro thread then i saw this one, i hope this helps man,
so about this install problem, my hboot is 0.82.0000, i use the latest 4.19 tmo radio and cwm recovery 5.0.2.7. my install is flawless, every time, over 50+ times, throughout every quattro release. i use superwipe+4ext everytime, then a dalvic wipe. this combo works for me 100%, i know im asking a lot to get u guys to go back to CWM.
if alllllll that doesnt work, maybe change sd cards and redownload the file? make sure u got a good usb cable too that messed my cell up one time, i thot the file was done transferring. turns out if i touched/moved my phone at all i would drop out of usb file sharing mode.
i hope this helps u guys out, if not im at a complete loss
also how did u guys root? was it thru the htc dev thing????
If you need to root the device, you can use SuperOneClick or use ADB. I used the latter from the CM site.

you want another advice, here you go:
1. superwipe (flash it through recovery):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044992
2. wipe through recovery (data & cache & dalvik cache)
3. do a fresh install... and hit the thanks button
...or install 4ext recovery and convert your system, data and cache partition to ext4
Hit the thanks button for what? Telling me to do something that I have already stated that I have done?
