I bought 2 my touches one regular one and one fender .... the reg one had swype preinstalled and the fender did not...
is there a way i can take the app off the one and copy it and install it on the fender?
i tried the link someone posted on here and tryed to DL it and my phone said it didnt have enough memory on it but I know it did so I am not sure why it said that...
I have no clue what rooting or anything like that is .... I am ok with computers but never got into the hacking of phone thing. so please keep that in mind if you have a solution for me..

you may not be able to remove it.. but you may be able to replace it.
It varies by device, but there is a registry key that controls that on most devices.
I'm not sure which HTC device your stellar is... but if you can figure that out, those would be the people to ask.
I've also seen one some phones, people had made an RUU that will replace that picture.

anyways, its fine, youre new... so nobody really cares if you dont know how things work.
youre best bets are
a) searching google
b) searching the site using google
c) posting in the forum called kaiser software (it just changed its name, so i think thats what its called) because even if people ther say search which theyre likely to, they have probably been asked it loads of times before, so will point you in the right direction.
one thing that might work, but will only change the secondary splash screen is looking in \windows\ for a file called welcomehead.96 or something. write down the name of it, then you can copy another picture file [not sure what type you need] with that name to the windows folder, and it will be your splash. Beware though, i did this yesterday, adn i could only complete the copy because i'm using resco file explorer. also, i wouldnt recommend copying and renaming the file like i suggested, because im pretty sure there are some constraints that it needs to obey...

I have a verizon 6700. I have been trying to download everything I need all day. I have tried different peoples programs, and it doesnt seem to be working. Maybe i didnt drop things in the right folder or something. I have no idea right now. If ANYONE can help me, I'll be up all night until I get it right.. Every thing from the home screen to the icontacts, to the sms chat, to the s2p, to the pixsel browser..all of it isnt working right. I guess I need step by step instructions for my phone. Uhh......majority of the apps are simple ".cab" files, just click on them in the file explorer of your PPC. Really, it's that simple. If you need other help, post in the above mentioned thread, and be more specific, can't help fix a problem we don't understand ourselves!

First off welcome. Your phone can do alot of things. You need to do some research before anyone will really help you. There is alot of stuff on here and on ppcgeeks. Just do a google search of ppc and you will get there. your phone is called the touch or sometimes called vogue. if you want to release the phone you need to get an unlocker and then flash a custom ROM. I have never done it but it seems easy. just be careful to read read read before you do it cause it can brick your phone. there are lots of fun aps that work with your phones oem rom. just look around and play with it. your phone has gps but verizon has it locked down for now so you will need to unlock to get gps. your phone does not have wifi.

like the first person in this thread, i dont know crap. and i say that in all honesty. have been searching for a tutorial on how to flash roms etc. I have a touch as well and would also like to upgrade and unlock to use the GPS. have looked but did not see a tutorial. any help would be appreciated. thanks
Im sorry but this may be a long post and I dont even know if it goes here..
I had a wing about 1 year ago and i sold it because i had no idea that this web site even here and i had no idea how to use it. I mainly got rid of it because it was really slow and the touch screen you had to use that stylus. Now that I found this website I want to get the wing again. I have been reading and reading for like the past week and i read the guides and for some reason I still dont understand how to flash new roms and everything. so im wondering if someone would be willing to help me step by step over aim or something when i get my wing sometime with in the next week.
also i see a lot of people are having problems with the wing with applications not working and sms and mms and all other things not working and all that.. is that something that happens when you flash a new rom or what is the cause?
also is there a facebook or myspace application i can put on my wing? i am addicted to facebook and myspace..
also if a new rom is flashed would i still be able to download applications from other websites like handago and they will still work with the rom?
I think thats all the questions that i have.. if i have more i will post something else. Thanks in advance for the responses that i may get! everything is appreciated.

havent run into an app that is solely for for those but i use opera mini its free and works wonderful for other web pages as well

yep the chef who cooks the roms here do not lock installations on aps
so any rom that i put on there i can put any applications on there that i want also?
also for the touch roms does it make it easier to use your finger? i remember when i had the wing before i always had to use the stylus.. anyone out there willing to help me when i get my wing to flash the roms..
I wish that there were more pictures on here of the roms so i will know what i am flashing.
that is a question of the interface usually u will still have to use the stylus but some of the roms UI are finger friendly

if i remember manilla will not work with the fav 5 today icon since it doesnt support them

My first post here, so forgive me if this was posted in the wrong forum!
Here goes, I have an HTC touch pro 2 and my boyfriend has different bookmarks/icons on his touchflo 3d (the line at the bottom with home, contacts, photos/videos, texts, emails etc) and I'd also like to have those on my phone. I tried using the search but nothing came up. I wondered if any of you knows where I can find those different icons/bookmarks?
And a silly other question, if found, could somebody also please explain how to install it?
