It was a nice ride with everyone here on the herald forum but sadly (and pissed off) i must say goodbye i bricked my phone and i stopped caring enogh to fix it u might see me on the rapheal thread in about a couple month
thanks to Ivan, PApa, tran and everyone esle who helped me make my phone a hell of a lot better

Wow, you dont even want to try to unbrick your phone? I hear you though. Im getting so tired of my wing, and I am about ready for a new phone myself. i just bought a 46 inch sony bravia, so i cant justify spending any more money on a phone, but there is a runor at our office we will be getting our bonus check next week so who knows. anyway, best of luck, and thanks for all the help you have given to me, as well as everyone else. i might have to look into the raphael. im still not impressed with the g1, so not sure what i want.

lol i did try to fix it i broke the lcd screen n i spent a total of 54 hours sodering and taping and other stuff trying to fix it lol i just dont care about it anymore it wont power on anymore

rapheal is worth it i have had a lot of hands on with the Sprint touch diamond and pro

Yeah, I'll have to look into those. I've been busy and haven't had time to research phones yet, but we did get our bonus, so I might have to buy myself a phone soon! Let me know what you decide to go with. I would love to hear feedback.

ive had a lot of hands on with the GSM model (Fuze) and the Sprint TP both work so i cant describe but i preferrably would go with the Fuze just so i can keep flashing my phone lol but i get a major discount from sprint so most likely ill go with sprint
the Fuze actually mless programs space than the Sprint TP thats easily fixed by rom flash for a clean version

how much can an old gene be resold for these days? Bought it brand new in feb 2008... very good condition... used screen protector from the start... no external damage to the body of the phone and everything still works... changed the rom a few time... now running a wm6.1 rom with spb running on it... whats the best price I can get for it in Bangalore?
P.S I know this belongs in the Marketplace forum but that forum is frequented more by US people rathar than Indians I feel... and I know that there are a few people from Bangalore here in this forum so thought I'd post here to see...sorry if this is not right.

4 K to max 5 K. Since the hardware is pretty boring considering the latest stuff available, plus its hardware is not even capable of running WM 6.5.

4k-5k seems too good to be true. The new gene is around 8-9k in Mumbai.

New HD2 On its way :-)

Hey All
Just ordered myself a HD2 off of Ebay. Paid $750aud inc shipping. Finally decided to retire my slow old Xperia X1, will prob just keep using it to test new rom's that come out....
Now I have a few questions. Are they're any special tweaks or cabs to install to make it better? What case's are people mainly using with the HD2? Any general problems or things I should know?

I think that is very personal.
I am using cookie tab now and it is very good for what i like about a phone. Just look around this forum and read, try and experience !
It`s very nice to try tweaks especially if they are in a cab. If you don`t like it, just uninstall. If anything is not good the folks here will help you set thing right again.
Its a great forum for a great phone

You will not be disappointed... I was worried about the lack of keyboard when I made the change from the X1 to the HD2 and I can tell you its not a problem... for tweaks a must is BSB Tweaks (found on here in a sticky I think), has loads of tweaks that are very handy... there is also a thread on things to do with your HD2 when you get it... some of them are covered by bsb others not so much all handy... I have not yet had a problem with my HD2 but some do... again there are loads of threads about this problem or that... so far (touches wood as probably just jinxed myself) its been all gravy...

I reckon you should stay with the oem rom for at least a week and research this forum. customising your hd2 is a very personal thing, what suits one will not suit another. there's a thread which people post there must have apps, I would try there first. that's my opinion

It is interesting to see how fast the pricing of the Leo drops from 820AUD at the end of Jan to 750AUD now.
But anyway I recommand you to test your device for few days before doing some flashing or customising to see if there is any hardware issues
If I were you I would install several tweak softwares like BSB and HD2Tweak.
just to cover all the available reg tweaks
Just my tiny bit of advice
The Leo should amaze you lol

I just hope you get it. I ordered a phone via ebay before and got burnt along with many others, had a good rep etc. Anyway Ebay are basically useless in terms of assisting to get any $ back.
Other than that you'll love it, its a great phone and very customizable.

Its not true. Paypal buyer protection is very good. They always return my money when they should. And the seller must prove that you got the parcel.

Yer I was planning on staying on the stock rom for a bit....funny I used to flash my xperia to be like a stock HTC phone, so yer the stock rom should keep me happy for a few weeks...
Yer I was a bit skeptical about having only an onscreen keyboard, one of the things I loved about the xperia was the HW keyboard
Cant wait till it arrives, it looks like an amazing phone

As far as has been put out by Microsoft we won't see any WP7 phones till holiday time, i.e end of year. That's a mighty long time to wait.

I had asked HTC on twitter when the new win7 phones will be coming out since I was interested in the hd2, they told me that the first phones will be for sale in Q4,
Right now i dont know exactly what to do. But ill give it a chance and hope for an update. So ill be getting the HD2 tonight.
I bought an xperia last year in feb and was really dissapointed when there werent any new official panels, thnx to XDA I pimped my phone a little bit. But now when I recieve my new phone tonight, ill give my old Xperia to my mother who needs a new phone

Unfortunately not in my case and with 32 other people. Thats how many people this guy stung. Through letters from all victims, QLD police investigated, and the guy was tracked down and currently behind bars, this was the update from the police however still no money despite chasing for it.

I think I need a support group.

I've had my Hero for a little over a week and on day 1 I found this forum and rooted. Ever since I've tried just about every 2.1 based ROM on the forums. Thanks XDA for creating a monster. After a year of having 3 phones I wasn't ever happy with I have probably my keeper. Android is just so much better.

My fixes for ROMS is gettin so bad I'm buying multiple different phones in back alleys and loading up a different load on each one. It HURTS MAN!

While i flash alot. nowhere near as bad when i was a wm user..my wife always was yelling.. when is your phone ever gonna be fixed,lol at least with android all the roms pretty much work great.. so not as much time wasted installing this or that as with wm..

Do what I did with mine. Get her a Hero, then you get twice the flashing.

You can't lie to me! This is more like a den of enablers than a 12-step support group. I bet all you addicts have 2 Windows open; this one, and a second with the fresh toast thread open, so that you have something to read while you wait for the updated sauce.
Don't get me wrong, I'm right there with you....I'm just saying. Besides, rehab is for quitters.

Same here. My wife keeps telling me she hate my phone because I all the time on it doing some thing to it. LOL she just don't understand the motivation on having something cool or working good.

Claims of WP7 from Tom_Codon march 2010

Well were coming up to to the month milestone of when Tom dropped the news of having WP7 running on his HD2.
I know I will get flamed for this, but I am niave and a part of me still despite no real proof being given, is hoping.
It would be great if we got some news/proof at the end of this month.

please people, let it go....nobody was gonna get wp7 on the hd2 before the news and so there is no difference if it was all a lie...
that said, i do belive in it, reputable people have said its true. just enjoy the damn device and when wp7 comes, it will come, and i would like to see a thread with all the non belivers apologising

But thats just it, how can you EXPECT something from somebody when they dont owe you anything? you can expect customer service from HTC, or expect an official statement from HTC about wp7 (which we got), but you cant expect news about someones personal project...you arent paying them, they are doing it out the kindness of the heart and the passion they have for this phone...
well thats my opinion for example...i fix my friend's and family's computers from time to time for no charge. nobody can expect me to fix it in any reasonable time frame, nor even even expect it to be fixed at all, even if i say i can. if they do, then its really unnappretiative and its quite hurtful. alot of people did ***** about the videos of wp7 on the hd2, if it was me, i wouldnt even bother giving it to anyone, just on the fact that so many people grinded me down about it.

I think you have mis-interpreted my use of the the word "Expected" by this I meant "Hoped" or "Thought"
I do agree with you though, they don't owe us anything, and after the slagging off that some guys gave them, I would say F off to everyone.

ah ok, well yeh one can hope for it, thats all good! even i hope for it! well actually i dunno, when they said wp6 and wm6.5 isnt interchangeable made me decide not to go with wp7. but still, id love to see it! but even if they lied (which i keep stressing i dont think they are!), i wouldnt think less of them, none of us are really gettin affected and we have got alot from them anyway with wm6.5

yeah I asked him last week in a podcast he visited on ppcgeeks...said a lot including a test rom for tg01 which also makes a lot of sense. I've said on htcpedia that I wouldn't be surprised the devices we see in the fall are very similar to devices released LAST year with minor improvements in hardware (if that)
If the htc touch hd2 and the g01 were the true test devices that wp7 was based on, then as a developer I'd just go hey why do I need to make a new device? Use the old internals and I have a wp7 device. I think for early devices that's what is going to happen but again that's just my speculation on htc and toshiba. Dell et al probably have devices built from the ground up...
I mean I want to try wp7 too and its looking better and more fluid every single day that gives me hope that microsoft has made a better "coded" os that when unlocked will actually be more open than the devices we have right now. To get to that point will take time, but that's what xda is for. I mean zune hd is hacked, I expect wp7 to be hacked too. just depends on time and devices

hoping this conversation remains civil because so far no flames no claims of it was publicity and I said on htcpedia again why does a site like that need publicity it averages in US daytime 250 members per hour! late night 125! a site like that doesn't need real advertising.
We can't say its an april fool either that's come and gone. so the only other logical outcome is that it exists there are some issues (lo and behold tom said there were graphics issues)
so I am waiting enjoying wp 6.5

Does anyone actually know Tom or Da_G or ITJE? Could they ask them for an update? Anything is better than nothing.

I just don't see the draw towards WM7. I stopped using the iPhone because the locked down environment... even after jailbreaking. WM6.5 w/ Sense is the BEST OS and GUI that I've used on a phone. It has usability elements while retaining the functionality of WM. It seems to me that M$ is moving backwards.

Im with you 100% on that statement. I feel like M$ is turning into Apple.

Sure, WP7 is locked down OS with many disadvantages, I agree with that!
BUT it brings lots of new features and its going to have full flash support etc.
it's not all bad.. basically this whole thing is not part of this discussion!
This is about WP7 on hd2 which was claimed to be real by tom.

I mean... okay, WP7 HD2 ROM does exist, noone apart tom_codon and some other people has got it, but why are you saying to all that it does exist if you can't/don't want to release it?
It's not so mature and smart in a community where all is shared and that lives on the ROM sharing to say "I've got WP7! But you won't get it! Hah!!"........ am I wrong?
