[SOLVED]Volume control buttons for Music tab in Manila missing - Windows Mobile

For some reason my Manila music tab has no volume control. The volume rocker button works but there is no display of it in the Manila tab. Is there some setting to enable this?

Hi Bob,
I'm always using Volumecontrol, Dshow and Phonecanvas from the same source.

I found the problem. A while back fards gave me a modified VolumeControl.dll with no icons inside so that the volume icon in the drop down taskbar shows the volume icon correctly. this is what was causing the missing volume in the music tab. I replaced it with the one from the 2.10 original and now it is working.
Thanks Leo and TPC for your help.

Does it happen the same with youtube?
I had the same problem a few weeks ago solved by adding the Volume_Control_2_2_20113221_00 package in attach to the EXT folder of my kitchen.

you can use the original htc volume and still have the icon show in the drop down taskbar and you dont have to edit the htcvolumecontrol.dll the reason the icon wont show now is because the icons that are in the htcvolumecontroll.dll have 3 digit numbers assigned to them, and if you look inside your shellres192.dll you will see that all of the ms dropdown taskbar icons are 4 digit numbers. so to fix it all you have to do is take your icons from htcvolumecontrol.dll(either custom or default) use restorator to copy them to your shellres192.dll keeping their same 3 digit numbers and its fixed

Annoying, VERY annoying problem - function keys

Hey guys,
As the title says Ive got a very annoying problem with my xperia. Problem is that the right function keys (silver one) assigned action always changes from "right function key" to "Today" upon restart.
Id like to not do a hard-reset if possible. Anyone got any suggestions how to make sure it sticks with what action I assign to it?
Cheers

sounds to me like the assignment isn't "sticking" in the registery and goes away after restart. try a registery editor and manually assign the key to the program you want.

i have the same problem. do you have tf3d installed ?
yes I do have tf3d installed. which registry key should I change?
I have the same problem. In addition to tf3d I installed the cab that enables to make a panel out of it. Help?
Use AEBPlus to re-assign the key(s). For each hard keys, you get 4 different actions. You will appreciate what u can do with the hard keys!
Also mine after installed touchflo3d.
Guys, remove TF3d! We have a Xperia, X-panel is more than enaught.

doesn't work in my x1. something keeps changing the registry value back ... :-(
yep I had this problem too when I installed TF3D. In the end I uninstalled it because I wanted the right button mapped to voice command and it got annoying having to remap it after every soft reset
if someone has successfully stopped it automatically setting it to "today" please tell us how
I am using Touch-HD Manilla instead of TF3D and don't have this problem. Why not use Touch-HD Manilla instead? From what I read, this is faster than TF3D.

I have only so far installed Manilla HD Full, and have never tried the the individual components.

and you're using manilla hd full ?
Yes, am using Manilla HD Full. Also installed the T3FD panel, but later removed it.
I am on ROM 1.02 (was on ROM 1.01 also) by Jack Leung, AEBPlus works on both with Manilla HD Full installed. Didn't bother to install the panel.
I have Touch HD,but I also have this problem,why...
Just curious, are you on the original rom?
I understand some ROMs, the email signature also doesn't get saved. Wonder if this is a related issue.

Thanks, but either it was a misunderstanding, or it doesn't work for my PAQ-Rom.
The windows - start button behaves like bevore, just the the TF3D app-page appears new.

In addition to these teaks?
(They were originally postet above, but are missing now due to the problems on the biard last night.)
To enable "old" LargeMenu (Disable new manila start menu):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu\Enable ManilaStartMenu =dword:00000000
To show favorites programs page on manila:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Manila://programs.page.hidden =dword:00000000
I installed tsowens icons and lost the rhodium start menu. I have searched through the registry and tried different tweaks all to no avail. Anyone any ideas?
Thanks

How to customize SK1 on Home screen

I have read the how to's, but my Manila 2D is different -
My HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila2D/Home only has entries for the SK2 - the righthand key. I have changed it successfully, now I would like to change the other key SK1.
Where do I find it? Or is it 'hardwired'?
I haven't tried the Manila2D Customiser because I am not sure if it would do this either if the key is not there.
Joe
hi
try using the M2d customizer i think u can change both the SW keys to ur liking with the same goodluck

Yes, you can use M2DC. It adds new keys.
Or add yourself manually. examples here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3399346&postcount=37
you can just add new parameters.
Thanks guys, I will try the customiser.
Joe
The Customiser worked OK.

If 2018/2016 does not work for you, try my 2016/2017/2018 hybrid (link inside)

Here is my hybrid. It works but the menu on the hometab does not. If you are like me and can't get 2018 working, this will fix it.
Why am I sharing? Cuz I'm a nice guy

What do you mean the menu on the Home tab? That's a major problem my friend.
If you are talking about the main home menu button how are people going to get to Co0lies Home Tab settings Etc.
I would not call this a working set of packages.

This package is better than NO PACKAGE at all. Nothing else would run on my ROM except this combo. 2018 Core with 2017/2016 tabs works on my Rhodium Euro based ROM. If you want to share your WORKING package, please do. I can update the first post.
I was talking to another chef, and it seems the menu button not working is related to other EXT (apparently).

Menu in Home tab not working is due to the number of quicklink slots declared incorrectly. HTC programmers are a bunch of weirdo where their coding is a total mess.
For 2018, the Core package has a registry entry setting the quicklink slots to 16. However some part of the Home package have the number hardcoded. So if you change the number in registry, the menu would not work.
Btw, if you install CHT, you'll have no Menu problem because Co0kie takes care of this.

If you use OBEO's version, you must set,
[HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila]
HomeShortcutNum = 0x0c
For other version,
[HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila]
HomeShortcutNum = 0x09

Btw, if you are mixing the Home package files from multiple builds, that would cause the problem you are having now too. As I said earlier, HTC hard coded some part of the code (across multiple files) for the slots number, thus causing the said problem.

So there is no solution other than using 2018 home tab or CHT?
CHT is too slow to be an option and 2018 breaks landscape.
This sucks.

1. Check your Manila_Photo package from the VGA port you're using. Make sure it overwrites the WVGA original one.
2. Quickshutdown transparency works ONLY with 6.5 ROMs. You would have known that if you read the first post of the application.
3. Look for PNG files in the HTC Menu Enhancement package for the OS menus.... and you'll need to find the corresponding _manila files for the menus in your screenshot to edit. Sorry.. dont know them off the top of my head.
thanks for the answers
but why i can't rearrange the home screen tabs?
