Can anyone help me understand logcat and what I should look for regarding items that are consuming battery?

There's way too much spam to tell accurately what's using battery.
The best best is Settings -> About -> Battery
Or using AnyCut (from Market) -> Battery History

[Q] Nexus & battery drain due to google play magazine service

hi ,
I own a nexus 7 32 gig wifi only tab
it runs on stock JB 4.2.2
it was functioning perfectly until last week
suddenly the amount of battery drain was too high
with 8 hours the whole battery drained from 100 to 0%
in the battery stats "screen" was the highest battery consumer
i did a factory reset but still the problem persists
Now according to the battery stats,
google play magazine service is the highest batery drainer.. 89.2 %
i couldnt disable the service
I dont have any idea about how to proceed now with the issue... please help

try searching in the "All" tab rather than "Downloaded", this is because I think it comes preinstalled as a system app, rather than a separate download.
very weird that it is now using that much battery, are you trying to sync something constantly? Instead of uninstalling updates, try just clearing app data and cache if you don't use it.
in typical use, the screen is supposed to use the most battery, turn it to manual and set it to a lower value to use a little less.

[Q] Battery Drain "Mediaserver"

I couldn't find a solution anywhere that was causing the battery drain for "MediaServer". The two process were "AudioOut_2" and DirectTrack. I don't have viber installed. What are these processes in the "MediaServer" and what purpose do they serve?
UPDATE: I found out that the process using those services is called "1013". How do i figure out what application is it?

To reduce or eliminate the audio out, turn off all key tones and vibration. Don't know what direct track is.

Hi, if you post your question in the BBS thread your chance to get a reply will be higher:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Apps and Games > [APP][2.1+][24 Nov. - V1.15] BetterBatteryStats
Toggle it another time. I find that the second time I toggle it, it sticks. Remember to reset after each toggle. Disable, reset, enable reset, then disable reset. It should stick.

how can i celbete the battery from multitasking settings

in the settings on the muliting tasking
there 2 options start celbaetre and stop
how can i use it to celcbeatere my battery
?
thanks
You can't. Thats not the way it works.
If you want to calibrate your battery:
- Charge to 100%
- Pull battery
- Put it back in and charge while off to 100% again.
- Done.

Mi feedback app drains battery

Hi.
the app "feedback" drains at least 10% battery for each charge even if I disable the background activity.
The app cannot be disabled nor deleted.
Anything to do to avoid this issue?
Yeah same here, dunno what to do...
Did you guys tried to disable it with the non-root adb method that was posted long time ago?
I have not had a problem with it, have you tried deleting the app data?
Also maybe settings>apps>feedback (the app)>battery> turn off background activity.
Already disabled background and delete data. The issue persists. Thanks

Where are you getting the 10% figure from, is it "apps usage" displayed under battery or in app info?
Only in app info
Install gsam battery manager, give it the proper authorizations (via adb or root if you are rooted).
Then post a screenshot again.

I thought you were looking in App info, that information is for more than one app, like the data figure it is the app and associated processes, if you click on battery and scroll down, you will see real usage by app, and feedback won't appear in that list because it's not using much at all.
My own was saying 10% but when I look under battery stats the highest usage was Google at 7%, Feedback App did not even appear in the list.
