i noticed that android does not have arabic in it so is it possible to have arabic language on it.....search got one for G1 but u have to root the phone and non for x10 so any ideas? thanks

The x10's which got arabic pre installed dont have market in it.

I seen the phone here in Qatar, and the salesman assured me that i can download Arabic support from market, he didn't tell me the exact name of application, but he said clearly that there is an app for reading Arabic messages and one more app for the Arabic keyboard available on the android market.

Ar/En means the guide document is written in Arabic and English, NOT the phone supports Arabic
To get your contact names, reading,writing abd browing in Arabic, you have to download application called MoreLocale2 and select Arabic Language from the Languages list.

I think you just need to add Arabic font after rooting your phone. I did not try this yet and I am new to android.
Or maybe using one of Arabic supported ROMs like Cynagon for example.
I hope anyone can help.. I am still looking for a solution for my nexus s.
I flashed latest build of cyanogen for nexus one yesterday and seems arabic is finally solved. letters are connected letters, right to left alignment in msgs.

Salam Aluikum everyone. Currently my sister's husband owns a htc sensation, and has been griping about reading Arabic on it. Now I COULD go and install cyanogen 7 on his sensation, as that has good Arabic support... but I personally don't want to do it as 1- I'm lazy, and 2- if something changes and he doesn't like it, guess who he's going to ***** at?
so are there any ways of displaying Arabic on his android correctly in everything? like texts, emails, and etc. The only thing I could think of was making him install Firefox as his browser, so he could read Arabic websites

In order to have connected characters in Arabic you have to flash either one of JPG/JPA roms..
Unfortunately, Android doesnt support Arabic natively (Which is stupid by Google.. its the #1 most requested feature of Android)..
But before I flash it this phone it have Arabic language perfectly , then Android support Arabic, also all samsung galaxy in Morocco have include support Arabic and in Midle East all samsung galaxy S is Full arabic.
But I know there some Plug'in for Arabic Language but i don't know where can I find it.

Have you read Darkyy's first thread fully? He has put up a patch for partial fix for Arabic /hebrew support. This is the link from his post Pointed out by Spike_M
EDIT : Anyone with other modded rom's having this problem too?

this rom that you find in ce4arab or other arab forum is not really darky 8 or 7.8
all of them is jpjpg rom (2.2) with darky theme and 2.2.1 kernel
the guy that cook this roms says to everyone that is android 2.2.1 and darkys rom with arabic support but he lied
made an update for support persian/arabic in galaxy roms is really hard . I got 3-4 months working on it but did not result, and I just wasted my time

I use Wolfbreak's CM 6.1.3 V053, it support arabic very well, and for the browser use opera mini 6 , it support arabic 100% .. but if you're in Syria it won't work til you use openvpn !! for operator reasons .

firefox 4.0 and Opera Mini 5 are supporting arabic font ! but ... (flash, speed ....)

man i wanna ask u about openvpn,i was using it and there was no problem,but now it wont work any more
and to run the market i should put the phone on airplane mode and use the openvpn to make it work cause google detect the sim card too

smart Keyboard
Perfect Keyboard
both support arabic well and both are easy to configure and use.
If you can't find them on the market use google

iam asked add dictionary program .... not about spporting arabic language .... i had see the topic about arabic support

Fora dictionnary : it handles "dict" dictionnaries. (don't know for arabic but works for vietnamese)
Cool reader special version for NST :
