a quick question? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

when members talk about the AKU versions and different radio versions ie, 1.17 or 1.19 etc.
what are they writing about a quick expo i would be greatly thankfull.
its proberly something simple but being a noob still [but getting there] you have to ask.
also am i right in thinking that the kitchens members write about are homemade apps that help you make your own modded rom.
if that is the case are there any links that anyone can give to explain from scratch how to use them hopefully with lots of pics to help along.
i have a kitchen i think included with sun_dream's [Himalaya OEM 2010]WM6.5.3_28230_v2_WWE_Kitchen[rapidshare&mediafire] upload.
thanks in advance to any responce!

Installing version 1.2

Can someone please help me I am trying to upgrade to version1.2 ROM and have absolutely no idea how to do it, and am a little nervous of trying, but it looks so good I have to try. Thanks
The first thing I suggest is that you do a backup to sd card, you will learn how to do that by looking at the info in the drop down menu beneath xda developers.com banner and looking at the subjects in the different forums. You will see just how much work these guys have put into this when you see the added capability in 1.2, I think the developers suggest you cook your own rom in the kitchen now, info on that can also be found on the site.

The best ROM?

Hello, what is the best ROM (WM6.0 or 6.1) for SPV M3100? I don't want a lot of installed applications.
And my second question, how can I create my own ROM? Can you give me some tutorials, tips, tricks? Thanks
Mate, go to the wm06 part of the forum. You will find the latest cooked roms there with a description from th e chef detailing whats included. Read the last few pages of posts to see if there are any potential problems for you and if there have been any fixes.
Posting what is the best rom is just another reason for arguments and slanging matches and tend to be closed pretty quick by administrators.
As for the cooking, posting for help in the wm06 section should get you the help you need. I'm pretty sure Josh Koss has a kitchen there and I've seen a few others. I believe you'lll find instrucutions in the WIKI on how to cook but if you need help there is always people who will help.
Cheers...

Issues with Radio 1.65.30.09

Hi,
i was very happy with murata 1.58.21.23 and because of the fact that i need android i upgraded to the 1.65.30.09.
The problem ist that the camera doesn't work under 1.65... I've downgraded back to 1.58... (not as easy as it sounds like) and camera ran well again.
1. Does someone know any workaround for this issue? (The "Nadavi" camera trick didn't worked for me.)
2. Can someone give me an idea regarding the 1.71.09.01 Radio (for Kaiser)? Should I try it on a Polaris? and how to manage the wrong device id when flashing?
TIA,
Tester1975
What is your ROM version?
But, if you use radio 1.58, you cannot use ver. 1.65... Only 1.64... Search about driver versions and radio versions compatibility on this forum...
read here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Radio Versions and dropped calls
created it yesterday i was getting bored of writing the same thing over and over again so in the future try the wiki as it does have some useful info!
Also anyone think it needs adding to then go ahead and change it.
Now I've got it! Many thanks, you really saved me!
I know you are getting tired to give response to immature ppc users but on the other hand: how to search for knowledge if you don't know that this knowledge exists!
Greetings,
Tester1975
true but then again i did say some useful information on the wiki as for the polaris is pretty bad...

Nobody is going to help you, as I have been searching for the same info. Everybody points to modaco but nobody there want to share this so called secret. There is no visual kitchen which can cook for Omnia II, there are certain tools which can be used for this purpose but still dont know how to integrate Sense 2.1 or 2.5 into that rom. Hope somebody can help us........but I doubt as nobody is interested in our Omnia II.
If you find anything........please do share.
CDMA or GSM ???
Try the GSM omnia2 8000 thread at MODACO
or
CDMA Omnia i920 thread at MODACO.
Both phones look the same but their insides are very different and rom's can't be exchanged very easily.
So It's not that no one cares your just not quite clear enough in your request.
The info is there just not in this thread....at the moment.
its all about baby steps (I love that movie!)
first cook a stock rom, then a custom rom, then dabble in a sense rom.
It doesn't just happen over night, but many many sleepless ones.

lazy ex-htc-magic guy here

Hi all,
Can someone recommend me the most stable rom which means no lagging or not hanging? or there is none?
I came from HTC Magic so I am familiar with the versions, flashing but in this thread I am totally new although I have flashed xtreme rom
Xtreme rom is quite fast compare to the shipped rom.(but it is still hang time to time) My HD2 is from singapore, telco is starhub.
This is the first time I am on winmo phone and now quite upset about the shipped os.
but but i am lucky to be here to try faster and more stable roms.
So pls someone suggest me which rom should I go for it and all the roms are compatible with my phone? How and where to check the compatible?
This is the way I installed rom, pls correct if i'm wrong.
flash hspl
flash radio
do task 29
flash the rom
reset
do some other fixes if necessary
Thanks a lot.
You guys rock.
ps. Admin, pls delete it if I shouldn't start a new thread. Thanks.
Sorry for quick answer
go to HD2 ROM Development
click view to ascending so u can see most view and click post to see max post from there you can find which rom is using by most people.
if you are more lazy then come here i would flash your phone for you!!!
Hi Thihaz,
Best thing to do, as mentioned above, is to look through the first few posts of each rom and see which ones feel like they will deliver what you are looking for then try them out.
Please read ALL of the tutorial threads, hints and tips, and especially the rom chefs advice BEFORE jumping in.
Good luck with it. Closing this as we don't do "best rom" type threads but I wanted to help you out.
If you need more help on this matter feel free to pm me.
Cheers
WB
PS: Never start a thread by telling people you are feeling lazy. You will get zero help that way.
