Ok, with the vanilla lockscreen, how on earth do I turn off the alarm? I have to run my phone off, and back on to get that thing to stop.
Someone said to use the Android clock. Yeah, tried that still doesn't work.
Went to a few threads, no answers. Quick help please.
Oscar
you need a different alarm.
worldclock maybe the answer?
sorry....
# Fix the lock screen, install vanilla clock and uninstall world clock: http://link.geekfor.me/vanillalock3
off of flipz's site...you can take a look around under bug fixes at http://geekfor.me and you will see all of the vanilla lock fixes he has released... hope that helps

Does it bother anyone else that whenever you switch back to the home screen, the clocks reset the hands and do the little animations to spin to the correct location? The flip clock does it like it used to in TF3D too, the numbers flip over until they catch up. It seems such a waste of time and cpu cycles. I've tried the default Android clock and it is much calmer, it is always at the correct time regardless of whether you switch back or not. The down side is it isn't as attractive and doesn't take you to the clock app when you press on it.
Anyone else annoyed by this?
Indeed I find it a little annoying...not tried the different clock....
one question, are you able to change the type of clock on your profile?
I seem to be only be able to select different front clocks under different profiles (Scenes) so you are stuck with that clock for that scene?

You can just remove it, then add an HTC Widget and select 1 of 12 clocks (think its 12)

Genuie!!!!! Thanks dude!!!
I also found that when I changed my clock to the small one (so it still fits in the same space on the home screen), my Hero became much more responsive. It still adjusts the time with an animation every time I go to the home screen, but it seems way better. Others have suggested removing the People widget, but for me it was just a change of the clock.
Bugs the hell out of me, so much so I had to remove it.
Hope the new update fixes this problem.

I like seeing the clock flip over! I'm sure it does it by design too, it's not a fault/bug.

It is a fault, the clock widgets can't store the time. So everytime you enter the idle screen it updates the clock.

I don't believe it's a fault either, judging by the way it is animated. It is just designed not to update whilst not visible.
Regards,
Dave
Most if not all of the HTC clock widgets do the animation.
However, on the leaked video of the new speedier ROM, I notice the clock never updates like that, even though it is the big one with weather combined. It just changes immediately, so maybe that is part of the speed up...
i use the smallest one, digital, but not a flip. number 5 i think it is.
yes, if you look closely you can see it update when you go back to the homescreen, but it is so fast, most of the time i don't notice it, and i'm certainly not gonna sit there trying to see it happen, cos it's really not that important to me...
Maybe they added a setting to enable / disable clock animation ?
Hope so as I quite like it.
On the CDMA Hero there seems to be a bug... IN the Clock app, home location and current location show the correct time but most HTC clock widgets insist on displaying the GMT time. What's up with this?
Coming from my Cyanogen Nexus One, im starting to miss things. The most missed thing is the quick toggle of Bluetooth, Wifi, Mute, and Airplane mode that were in CM 6.1.1 under the Notification Tray.
Anyone know what that program was called? Of course it is possible that it wont even work on the Atrix.

Its part of the rom, and not a seperate app. Of course, you could dig through the CM sources and see what that is, and then see if you could port it.
Get beautiful widgets, they have an entire set of toggle widgets that allows you to do this quickly.
They also have an excellent clock/weather homescreen widget.

you don't even need that, there is a stock android power control widget. the point is, in cyanogenMod, you could pull down the status bar and toggle those from any app. so you could turn on GPS without leaving maps, or unlock screen rotation without leaving the web browser. It was really handy.

Come on guys... You got the phone 3 minutes ago.. Please don't start this. Give it some damn time. I'm pretty sure Cyanogenmod will be up in a few weeks. It's not like the Nexus One got Cyanogenmod in day -1. Seen as the phone is not suppose to be even out yet.

Are we really all having this conversation again? The bootloader is signed...nobody's going to be designing custom kernels anytime soon. Once the key is found or another exploit is found...sure. Until then? no dice.

Wasn't trying to talk down the Atrix, just fully explain the feature from CM.
I'll be happy when AT&T flips my data service back on again so i can actually set up the phone and use it. Kinda dead in the water right now.

Yeah, I was just trying to cheer you guys up. We'll have some custom roms up and running soon.
Get switchPro Widget. that way you can make 7 shortcuts on your homescreen to enable/disable GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Sync, Silent/Vibrator and airplane mode just to mention a few.
Guys, the idea is to have it in the Notification Tray, not on my homescreen.
Also, im not asking for a custom Cyanogen Rom. Just because there are people on here that complain every 5 minutes, dont get an attitude with everyone. It was a general question about if it is a program. It is not. End of story.

The Samsung Galaxy S phones have it and it is a great feature. The idea of widgets or the power control widget is not the same as it takes up space on the screen - having a list of shortcuts at the top of the notification area is simple and elegant.
My solution is to use quick settings (app store) it has a notification tray icon (you can hide it unless you pull down the tray) that lets me get to a set of toggles.
BarControl will let you put any app in the bar.. I use it with ToggleWifi and Bluetooth mode for notification bar toggles on a stock N1

Monkey see, monkey do.
widgetsoid is another option also.
Just recently got the Shift and so far its a big nice upgrade from the hero.
I don't currently have root access and am pretty much running stock everything, with the exception of Launcher Pro and some custom icons.
The issue I am running into is that occasionally my alarm clock goes off w/o the option to snooze or dismiss.
The only way to remedy this is to yank the battery... (at least thats how I deal with it at 6:am and I want to snooze)
Anyone else have this problem or know of a way to fix it?
Thanks.
I had the problem show up a few times on my Hero before the official 2.1 release, but I don't remember if anything I tried fixed it. Just letting you know it's not just you.
I know the alarm clock snooze/dismiss settings are tied to HTC Sense. Maybe launcher pro is messing with Sense somehow.
I think the controls to dismiss or snooze the alarm are tied to the lock screen. I don't use launcher pro, but I wonder, does launcher pro replace the stock lock screen?
Ive had similar problems...im stock rooted and still using sense and occasionally have this problem...i usually use audio manager widget to lower the volume so its not driving me crazy and then set a new alarm for like a min later...when the snooze/dismiss options appear for the new alarm i hit dismiss and all the alarms stop
Why not install DeskClock.apk?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App

No, it doesn't.

That's the same way I've been solving it Seems that if I turn off the phone (Kyocera Zio 2.2) whilst having an app on screen (ie turn it off from within an app or fxn) the incidence is quite high. If turned off from home screen, doesn't occur (or at least not very often - can't quite be sure, but 95% certainty) Just wanted to make someone aware of it. Glad to see it wasn't just me who noticed it. Having to take the case off, battery out, et al are annoying, and just seems a goofy fix for what is generally a nice piece of equipment! Someone else (Hero user?) is changing their vol setting and then setting another alarm for a min later to have the shut-off option appear. I may try that in the future. THANK YOU for the site!!
so, got my sprint tp2 running 6.5. i disabled sense and tf3d bc i want the simplicity of using the Easy Today Launcher (places whatever shortcuts I want on the today screen with no other fancy things going on).
in keeping with the simple theme, also installed Daniel Herieira? (sp) LockDevice (a simple lock slider which creates a clean screen with my wallpaper, the lock slider and a digital clock with the date).
since she boots at about 110 ram..before leaking down thru the day, Id like to NOT install any of the home screen custom ROM's that i believe all require to have the memory hog sense enabled.
all i want is a simple analog clock that i can either enable as a plug in in various skins/locations for my Today screen, or better yet, to replace the digital clock on my lock screen. looked everywhere, cant figure it out. does anyone have any suggestions?? am i posting in the wrong place? thanks in advance
I read the thread about doing this on the Galaxy Nexus, but the directions don't seem to be translatable to my N4. I'm on rooted stock with franco's kernel and I'd simply like to remove the alarm information from the lock screen. If this is not possible, then perhaps there is a way to move it down so that it is not on the same line as the date?

Download Fixed Clock from the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.alamoapps.unboldedclockwidget&hl=en
Set it as a lock screen widget
Remove the stock clock lock screen widget
Among other features hiding alarm is a function of fixed clock
wow, i hadn't even considered the idea that the stock clock may be a widget, and therefore removable! i disabled widgets with lock screen policy soon after getting my N4 and hadn't thought about the concept since, but this is a fantastic reason to re-enable and embrace them. thanks so much for the solution, skielbasa.
