[Q] wifi not working with CM6

I flashed the CM6 stuff and the wifi worked during that time but the next day(today) the wifi is not working. It just gives me a error message even after a reboot. Can i turn wifi on?

what version of cm6 are you using? are you even having this problem anymore?

sorry i forget to edit my post... i went to RC0 and it was fixed... i think i may have installed the OC kernel. The only problem now is gapps and launcherpro keeps force closing...

Fix permissions within rom manager and see if you still get FC issues.

adfree + java.io.EOFexception

I got a problem with the app Addfree.
I installed it on CM7 (android 2.3) but when I want to update the host file it get's me this weird error: java.io.EOFexception
I tried all things I found on google but nothing worked. Does this app just don't work with 2.3 or is there something else?

It was working on MDJ's 1.8 Gingerbread NAND build, but I upgraded to 2.4 today and I get the same error. I don't know if adfree changed, or if its something with the newer build.

I'm pretty sure adfree changed. I'm still using MDJs MC7 1.7 and it has stopped working on that as well.

Ok thanks for the reply's because it was driving me frickin nuts.
Android will never be the same without adfree :'(

Hi guys,
I used [ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.3 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [03/01/2011] no problems except I cannot access the internet other than Wifi connection. Sprint support explains I need to do something with profiles under menu settings about phone. Well, there's no such function. Can someone help me set up those profiles... my gmail works, market but only through wifi.

Could be talking about updating your profile. To do this, you will need to Nandroid your current rom, and flash back to your stock rom. Under the settings, you will have the option to update profile. Might as well do the PRL well your there.
Once done, flash back.

He's exactly right. There's an NFX Rom floating around here that's already rooted.

Any old sense rom will do to update your prl and profile. If you have your original nand from when you rooted, just use that. I keep a sense nand on my SD card for just such purposes. Mine just happens to be iced honeybun.

Problem with wifi and cyanogen

Hi guys I have a poblem with my legend...when I turn on the wifi, it sometimes reboot...someone had the same problem? Someone knows how to fix it?
I have cyanogen nightly 74...and Radio_47.39.35.09_7.13.35.05
(I also have a question...when I upgrade cyanogen...it changes also the radio?)

when you install a CM7 nightly then the radio isn't changed.
It install only the ROM.
Why this question about the radio version?

i thought the problem of the reboot could be the Radio...

I have EXACTLY the same problem...
Well, i'm experimenting some freezing issues with my Htc Legend on CM 7.03, when the wifi is on, i launch Android market (or something else... like trillian, a game etc..) in order to search apps or upgrade installed ones, after few swipes... : big freeze, then reboot.
i'm experimenting this problem since the first stable release.
I'm running LauncherPro Plus as Home Replacement, have S2E (for A2SD) and the 7.13 radio.
I would just know if someone else do have this issue too.

same problem here too.

I had the same with one of the nighlies (87). I had Go Launcher has homescreen replacement.
Running 7.0.3 with ADB there were no issues anymore!

will go to 7.0.3 - thanks. by the way, what does adb do to the phone whilst not plugged in?

These WiFi reboots sound similar to those in ogo2's Sense 2.3 ROM, I wonder if they're linked?

Well ogo's, rom is 97% cyanogen 7, and cyanogen 7 has had these wifi issues since they started using htc code (see post in dev section).

partial work-around
well, going back to the latest stable version of cyanogenmod (7.0.3 at this time...even though i will miss the better responsiveness of adw in the newer nightlies) and using wifi fixer is a partial work-around to this problem for m.

Have almost 0% of wifi and mobile coverage after installing CM 7.03.

Has anyone any experience with wifi network, which requiers to enter user name and password, first time you open the browser? I have such case at work, and my problem is tha this first page just won't load. It works ok on my coworkers phone (nexus s). Any suggestions what can I try. I've tried with Skyfire browser and with nativ cm browser, but it doesn't work. I'm using CM 7.0.3 stable

Wifi seems to be fixed in Cyan 7.1.0 RC1 at least is is on mine.

Evening all, did a clean flash of Synergy RLS2 (had rls1 before), and since then, the ROM has been better in all way's except 2 things.
1. The camera. On occasion, using the camera will lockup and then reboot.
2. WiFi tethering is not working using both the Sprint hotspot as well as the wifi tether app.
Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated. I saw a few newer ROM's with a newer camera with panoramic, so maybe there is newer apk or so for this.

I was experiencing the 2nd problem with WiFi tethering, A full wipe and re-install cleared up all problems for me

I think you mean RC2, right? The latest right now is RLS1 (it went RC1, RC2, RLS1).
