Someone tried to tell me this before but no, it's not. It's completely removed as an option. The wallpapers are still on the phone somewhere though because after installing, it loaded up the green grass wallpaper I was using from the Android Wallpapers so I know they didn't delete them.
Does anyone know how to access them so I can just use them myself?

Not the first time Engadget's been wrong.
Engadget isn't completely wrong because mine and some others are also merged into the HTC wallpaper directory. However there are others I also know..and theirs are gone too. I did a hard reset on mine last night so I would have a clean upgrade tho.
no Launcher
Mine did the same, no Android wallpapers. More annoyingly however, is that I can't get rid of Sense anymore. Sense was disabled and I was running Launcher when I updated this morning. It booted back up with Sense and now I can't figure out how to disable Sense again if it is at all possible.

Download another launcher like AWD, open home, etc....Then use Home switcher( its in the market) to switch to them.

That works - I'm using LauncherPro and didn't even need to get Home Switcher - but we shouldn't have to download other launchers when the stock Launcher was available. I just don't understand why they felt the need to delete these harmless traces of stock Android, especially the wallpapers. What i the world was their logic in that?
Anyone know where these wallpapers were located at in the file system? I will try to extract mine and upload them up for others.

Weird...Yesterday, I updated to DC 2.2.2.1 w/OTA then updated radio & WiMax. Once i got everything running, the first thing i did was check wallpapers and the Android Wallpapers were gone. I checked today and they're back
Kept the one I was using prior to the update, can't remember if there were any other good ones. Saw the post on page 1, gonna hunt em down.

I've also been trying to find the filesystem location of the original 'stock android wallpapers' files available on 1.32.651.6 has anyone found or know where they are?
I found the htc wall papers @ /system/customize/resource/htc_wallpaper_xx.jpg but not the 'android wallpapers'.
edit: note, not yet rooted so maybe can't see them.

has anybody installed the maize digital clock on their evo successfully?
the clock is no longer listed in the market and ive seen it on a few evos via screen shots.
i know this was a free app on the market, does anybody have an apk for this? or another way to get it?

Found and downloaded it last night. The date flickers at each minute change and the option to have it direct you to the alarm clock or another app doesn't work. Otherwise, it's great!

they all work fine on my desire, ive tested them all, im using a sence rom tho ....
am running defrost - only one of them work, it seems that they must only work on sense roms and not stock android?

maybe someone can port them like with the galaxy s live wallpapers that force closed just to prove it here a pic of the R2D2 one working on my desire
i got it to work
go to setting, cyanogenMod settings, performance, and change the VM heap to 32, then reboot and that should do the trick.

in my cm settings vm heap was already set to 32 just had to reboot my phone and all works great now
I tried the R2D2 one and the lightspeed one and both don't work:
- lightspeed doesn't do anything when I shake the phone,
- R2D2 doesn't even show up in the preview (it hangs on "loading").
I'm running Modaco r3.1/Eclair ROM.
Can't wait to get home and try these.

i assume its because your running eclair, not froyo
i've updated this thread with some new live wallpapers from the version version, i don't know how to rename the thread to say its updated though .... sorry lol

i use apps2sd+ and none of the starwars wallpapers take up any space if your not using apps2sd just move it to sd, i think theres only a problem with widgets being on the sd card not lwp

Ive seem to have deleted my Widgets for Faves/family, Friendstream @ Calender. I had to clear data on one ofmy HTC folders and it deleted those widgets. Is where anyway I can get them back? Ive looked on google and in the market and had no success. Anyone have them laying around or know where I can get them from?
Download stock rom or Iced rom and take what you need. I assume you know what you deleted so you wouldn't have any problems finding it.

BUT one thing, EVERY time I read a message the message is STILL unread at the status bar!! I have to manually drag the status bar down and press remove, anyone know how to fix this? PLEEASE

Are you reading it from the widget or actually opening the message application? Because it wont remove the notification if you're only viewing it from the widget.
I use the default shortcut to the message application(right now I am using EX launcher) but it's the same with default HTC sense.
I've found other people experiencing the same problem, but no resolution !
I have no idea then may seem a tad extreme but you could try a factory reset I suppose.
Tried that too from the memory card ROM full restore
Then I'm gonna stick with no idea :/ Sorry I wasn't much help!

its a common bug if you on the 1.72 base rom/ or using the new 1.72 radio thats got that bug if you use CM7 you will never get that problem
IMO stock message notifications are buggy..install Handcent SMS and your life will be much easier (remember to disable native notifications though)
What is CM7 ??
