I really really love my HD2 but the only thing that I have a problem is the alarm clock. The alarm goes off and plays the notification but then doesnt repeat or a long pause between the notificatios. Is there a way to have the notification repeat till you turn off the alarm or a free alarm app alternative?
I'd love to know a good alternative app too because it doesn't seem I can select anything but the default alarm rings. I'd love to be able to play music instead
The best alarm I have found is G-alarm (not Free) but well worth the money. It allows for mp3 as alarms. do a search and you will find it
My problem with the stock alarm is that the pop up notification box no longer shows unless I tap on the notification bar first. I think it used to before I did a hard reset. Basicall when the alarm goes off I want to see that pop up box on the bottom where I can dismiss or snooze. It was so much more convenient then having to tap on the notification bar after unlocking. I also have BSB tweaks installed and have the dismiss x time option enabled.
EDIT: Found the solution in All Settings. Just had to enable the pop up.

How I can change the sound of Clock alarm? It is not present in Sound and Notifications...
When you set the alarm and time, click on the alarm icon on the left of the days
But, I'd recommend you get G-Alarm insted I find it much better.
If you are using the built in alarms, click on the bell symbol in Clock & Alarms -> Alarms.
Here you can select the sound, if it repeats and whether to flash and vibrate.
omg ty
and how to add more then three alarms? I am surprised of this limit...
You can't to my knowledge.
With G-Alarm however, you can have many many alarms setup, and you have a much broader options and configs.
I highly recommend using it insted of the basic windows alarm:

Ok, as I understand it if you tap the alarm tab on the Sense Home page it is supposed to go to an HTC alarm app?
My HD2 does not do this. I tap the Alarm tap and it just lights up for a second. Thats it. No alarm app. The only way I've found to set an alarm is to go to settings -> all settings -> clocks and alarms and set it there.
Am I missing something?
click on the clock. then at the bottom, you have 2 choices, clock settings, and alarms.
Sadly I don't. Tried a soft reset too then tapping the clock again. Nada. I'm thinking it might have gotten f'ed up by one of the cabs I loaded.
Is there any good free alarm app for HD2 out there to download?
I downloaded Klaxon last night. Seems effective and free.

I think I have gone through every menu option in settings for my S4 i9505 but I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable the calendar appointment reminder that appear on the lock screen. I believe it is Samsung S Planner application that is doing it but I can't find any options for it under the general settings for Security, Display, Lock Screen or in the settings for S Planner. I'm not sure where else to look. I'd like to carry on using S Planner as the application interface isn't too bad but I really want to disable to calendar reminder on the lock screen. Any ideas?
Thanks

I tried this and found two apps one called S Planner and another called S Planner Widget. S Planner had the Show Notification check box disabled (i.e. could not toggle the settings) and the Disable button was inactive (could not click this). However, the S Planner Widget could be changed so I disabled the Show Notification and also Disabled it. I believe it is the S Planner Widget that was the offender so hopefully this will have fixed it. I'll know for sure after a few appointments have come and gone and nothing get's splatted across my lock screen. Thanks for the help.

As it turns out, this did not fix the issue. The S Planner application has an option in the application for "Set alerts and notifications". The options are:
1. Alert
2. Status bar notification
3. Off
I've now set this to Off which has stopped the lock screen view coming up. The notification bar notifications are still coming up (presumably this is coming from the main Calendar application). The notification bar notifications is something I still wanted to retain but unfortunately clicking on this notification just takes me to the normal Calendar app rather than S Planner.
Doesn't seem a way around it as far as I can see.

I have used the 1st option (1. Alert) and it seems to be that the reminders appear on the notification bar, and in the first occasion of the reminder as a dismiss or snooze screen but NOT on the lock screen. Give that a try.
Is there a setting, app, or feature that will temporarily turn the screen on to show incoming notifications? My last Motorola device did this as did one of my HTC devices. My iPhone did it. I can't seem to find the settings to make my note 3 do it....
Thanks
Ok, I know it's bad karma to reply to your own post, but I think I've got the whole notifications not built in thing worked out with an app and a few settings... There still seem to be a few kinks to work out, but here's what I did in case anyone wants to replicate my "success". Note that this has a configuration tool similar to the one found on iPhone that lets you turn on/off notifications on the lock screen for each app that sends notifications.
Download and install Nils from the google play store - make sure to enable it after installing
go to settings, lockscreen and turn on multiple widgets
Set screen lock to "swipe". I didnt' test this with other lockscreens but it may work
turn off, then on your device to see the default clock lockscreen.
Press and hold the stock clock and slide down to make it bigger
Press and hold the stock clock widget on the lockscreen and drag it to the trash
Click the new "+" symbol on the lockscreen and choose the Nils widget
Play with the settings.
I tested this on a rooted cleanrom installed device and it works for messages, corporate email, and gmail. That's all I'm interested in, but this will also work on all sorts of other system messages.
thread title is as it says, got an alarm clock icon next to my wifi strength indicator and ZERO clue what triggered it or how to get rid of it.
help?
Open your Notification Panel
Press and hold the Settings Icon for a couple of seconds and then release
You will see a notification acknowledging that System UI Tuner has been added to settings and the settings panel will open
Scroll down and select System UI Tuner
Select Status Bar
Select Alarm
With Alarm now deselected you will see the alarm icon has been removed from the status bar
Do you use Tasker?
Certain apps, such as Tasker, have use scheduling functions that cause the alarm icon to be constantly displayed on newer versions of Android. Tasker has a setting called "Reliable Alarms" that disables this.

no to tasker.
I...THINK I figured it out? I got as far as clearing alexa's cache and that solved the problem. still no clue how to get into the system ui tuner though.
