Hello,
Does anyone know if the audio booster or an equalizer is available for the desire? I had a quick look on the app store and found one but is was quite expensive witness mixed reviews.
thank you for your time

yes please. only one paid app that's overpriced and buggy. something that does EQ as a plugin to Desire's stock music app would be great...

I have a feeling this will be added in FroYo as it's been requested by a lot of people. Best bet is to wait until may 19th and see what 2.2 is like.
That said, I don't want any Equalizer on my phone. Equalizers muddy music and they add distortion.

I kinda hate the UI on the thing, browsing for music is complicated to say the least.
What are other music player options available for android? I would prefer something free but if its a paid app I'm willing to pay for it.
Also some of my music has incorrect album info, any way to edit this on the phone manually?
Thanks guys
I use PlayerPro from the market. It's a paid app but well worth it. Very easy to navigate and you can edit the song tags in the app.
Can I edit stuff for example, I Have two songs from The Killers, one says the artist is TheKillers (without the space)?. This causes 2 different artists to pop up
Going to start reading some reviews.
I'll give another Hell YA on PlayerPro. No matter what rom i'm on i HAVE to have playerpro. its one of the apps that solidified my love for android and its customizability. PlayerPro is literally the PERFECT media player.
EDIT: and yes, you can edit all the info and tags on all your media very easily
sweet, going to download the trial when I get home later, may end up purchasing it
Poweramp is one of the best out there, unfortunately its paid
definitely worth it however
I use cloudskipper. It's free and has a built in equalizer and pretty sweet lockscreen controls

poweramp.. all the way! paid but well worth it. If the song has lyrics, it will scroll em. If you want it loud, use the preamp. If you want it REALLY LOUD, QPST mod!!!
Never heard ANY phone this loud!!!
PowerAmp is dope, been my fave since the day I loaded it. I'll have to check out Player Pro, looks clean.

+1 for PlayerPro.
I could tell you a million things that I love about it (and why I chose it over PowerAmp), but I'll let you try out the trial and decide for yourself.
The PlayerPro trial will play music past the seven days, but it loses functionality. Read the reviews for the paid one along with the trial - but take some of the trial reviews lightly, some people are using it past the trial period and it isn't working to its full potential.

soes anyone have a link to the qpst mod?
I like the defualt one

I agree. I too have tried many of the music players and I kept going back to PowerAmp. Great music player. Lots of settings. Easy to use. The ability to sort by folder is awesome.
Google music beta is kinda cool. No issues so far. Even has search option. But no controls on lockscreen.

I've been looking for this answer for a while now. Best option: DSP Manager.
Thanks

DSP manager is great
also winamp pro has a built in equalizer that will allow you to boost overall volume of the music you listen to.
There are kernel mods you can use for this, but I've found them to distort the sound at high volumes. The only reason you'd want this is to play sound at higher volumes, so it seems like it's counter productive

was browsing and saw your question
if you are still on the hunt for a music player l would recommend power amp. I have used it for years. You can do a trial and it is very cheap for the full version. Worth a look.
I personally use the Sony Walkman app. I haven't managed to get everything working on it yet namely the visualiser but yeh poweramp as suggested above is a cut above the rest :good:

Go with Power amp mate, it's also worth upgrading after the trial.

I too was for the hunt of the perfect audio player for quite a while. Found that there is no "perfect" one ...but Power Amp is as close as you can get. It really lets you tweak it to a level no other player I used has. Trust me that is THE audio player. You won't regret spending those $4.
What's Music Player and/or EQ are you using?
Looking to try new ones.
Power Amp as usual.

Pretty much the regulars like Shuttle+ and Phonograph. I also just use the stock EQ since I don't have crazy good earplugs or headphones, so why bother? I'm also not an audiophile, so yeah. PowerAMP is the solution if you want full control of the audio though.
- PowerAMP/PlayerPRO = If you want full control.
- Shuttle/Phonograph = If you care about design
- Spotify/Google Play Music/Apple Music = If you stream your music
I am just using the htc music app.

Someone has distilled this for us, with special reference to Marshmallow.
Apparently having root is very important. .....
For starters, every single equalizer app you can download and install without having a rooted phone is basically the same. They all tap into the Android AudioEffects class to use the Equalizer, BassBoost, Virtualizer, PresetReverb and EnvironmentalReverb derived classes to apply audio effects to a specific instance of an audio session, and system-wide effects to the global audio mix are depreciated and no longer work. This means two very important things — the only differences between all these apps are the user interface and features, and that an equalizer app can't control the sound from more than one app at a time.

Enjoy!
I would have to say the best is Noozxoide EIZO-rewire Pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noozxoidelabs.eizo.rewirepro&hl=en that i personally have come across for non rooted phones
Very interesting! Will give it a whirl ....
